Is what it is, a VERY convenient credit union ATM for me went in downtown Burbank! FCU's tend to be spread out and often hard to find, and amazingly, there are 2 within a half a block of each other here, but this is the only one that has quick please go up parking access! The funny thing is is that it was hidden in plain sight to me for years, but now that I know where it's located, it's my go to ATM. read more

We switched to UCSCU from BofA about three years ago. We use the online billpay function and online access to our accounts. I have used the mobile deposit system in the past, but over time it has become less and less responsive and so I have given up on it. Pluses: I make deposits in person. There's rarely a wait, and the tellers are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Since we live in Burbank, it's convenient to drop into the credit onion when I need to. In general, if I have a problem with any function, I can find someone to help me resolve the problem with a minimum of difficulty. People I have dealt with on the phone, such as at the bill pay function, are also pleasant and cooperative. Minuses: The online functions are not quite as good as the systems at BofA, as long as you don't have a problem. However, when a problem arose at BofA, it was almost impossible to find someone who could solve it. You'd be shunted from one person to another, and sometimes be promised a phone call from some expert which never came. It was a problem with the bill pay system which was not of our making and, over a period of months, could not be solved that caused me to take our business elsewhere. On balance, UCSCU is much easier to deal with and I would never go back to BofA or any other large bank. Because the online systems and online deposit aren't perfect, i don't think I can give it a five star rating, but I think that four stars is a bit low. If I could give a fractional rating, it would be something like 4.7 stars. read more

They told me to go park across the street or down the street and walk !! Or come down with a golf cart. WTH? This is rediculous!!! Not everyone has access to a golf cart! We recently applied for and completed the mortgage application process with UCSCU. I cannot say enough about how easy and efficient it was for myself and my husband to complete the process. Prior to working with UCSCU we had been working with a broker and the frustration levels got so high due to their constant demands for paperwork and documentation that we switched to UCSCU. Thank goodness we did. From that point forward the process was easy and hassle free. Olivia Hauer was exceptional and never failed to return a call or pick up and answer all our questions. I have been to both Burbank and Universal City locations. The loan manager Norma is very helpful and takes care of me when I need a auto loan.. When I call and have questions I always ask for Victoria she is very helpful and knows the loan process. To the other person that made a review about Victoria being rude? Idk I have never gotten that... Maybe she doesn't sound like your average cellphone carrier customer reps you hear all the time.. But overall she's nice. read more

Was doing all of my banking needs thru Bank of America, and had just a small savings account here at Universal's Credit Union. One day, after suffering thru other silly fees, I was shocked to find out that BofA was charging me for not being RICH... Seriously, here is the story: BofA used to have a 500 dollar balance limit, meaning if you kept 500 or more in your account, you would not be charged a 12 dollar/month fee... then it became 1,000 dollars, and then, unknown to me, it became 1,500 dollars... now if I don't have 1,500 that I can leave in my account as a minimum balance, then I certainly don't have a spare 144 dollars per year to spend on "monthly fees" do I Bank of America!!? So, I decided it was time to move all of my business to Universal City Studios Credit Union. Wish I had done this sooner! They are providing all of the same online services that I was using at BofA, without the constant / ridiculous "fees". Checking, savings, and I pay all my bills online. GREAT! It is a credit union, not a bank (I primarily use the Burbank location), and the difference shows in that it is more of a Mom-n-Pop feel, perhaps, but it will keep more of your money in YOUR pocket. About the only downside I have found is that you have to find a Co-Op ATM (to not get a fee) and these are a little bit sparse. So I just have to plan a little better, and I can get money out at any grocery store when checking out without a problem or fee. Oh, and full disclosure, they do have a 500 dollar balance limit, and if you fall below that it will cost you 6 dollars for that month. That is a reasonable amount to me. And thankfully, I have never suffered that fee here. Thank you UCSCU! read more

Not sure what is going on at this CRU these days but their automated phone system is a joke. There is no way to speak to an actual human and when you press the number to speak with a rep you get disconnected. This has been the case for well over a week. I sent them an email request over a week ago for someone to call me but no love yet. Their entire system of banking and bill payment is really antiquated. if you are looking for an institution that operates with 21st century technology, this is not the one for you. steer clear if you don't want to be disappointed. read more

They have hidden fees EVERYWHERE and won't disclose any of them to you. Do Not Bank Here! Since being a member here since 2001, I've had fraudulent charges on my account at least 4 times, maybe 5. I've lost count. Every time I've had the card in my possession. Each time I have to go to the police station to file a report. This last time which happened a few weeks ago I didn't have to file a report, maybe because they only got a little over $400 (every time before it was always over $1000 right after my paycheck was deposited...hmmm) but I had to fill out an affidavit, get it notarized and they said the money would be refunded in 2-3 business days. This was a Monday so I assumed by Thursday it would be back in my account. Nope. I called Thursday and the lady told me that the person who handles that is on vacation. How is that my problem? Does work just stop when someone goes on vacation? I called back the next day, Friday, and someone said that the person covering for her called in sick. I was out of luck again. Then I called Monday when the person was supposed to be back in. They told me that she was back in and I should have it by the end of the day. Nope. I called Tuesday afternoon because the money was still not in my account! The lady said, again, that she would be handling those today. I was very frustrated and this woman was in no way apologetic for making me wait so long for my money. Finally by the end of the day I started seeing the fraudulent transactions being refunded, over a week later! But I'm convinced if I didn't call it wouldn't have happened on that Tuesday either. Luckily, nothing bounced. A friend of mine, who's also a member, had something similar happen to her around the same time, but much more scary in my opinion. Someone was transferring money from her savings to her checking and withdrawing money from her account from different ATMs around town. Inside job, anyone? We've both since closed our accounts. The time before this when I had fraudulent charges on my account was on a Friday, the day after payday and two of my other friends with accounts there had their accounts hacked too on that same day. We all had no money that weekend! That's when other people who I work with who previously had accounts there started telling me to close my account. That this bank has some shady stuff going on. I didn't listen. Well, after this last time a few weeks ago and how I was treated when trying to handle it, I'm done with them. I would have thought I would have been treated better after having been a member for over 14 years. They act like they could care less that you're money was stolen and you're having to jump through hoops to get it back! Most unprofessional bank I've ever encountered. Oh, another incident that had me shaking my head, I made a cash deposit last month of $2,000. The girl counted it and gave me my receipt. I didn't look at the receipt until a couple hours later and noticed that it was only for $1,000! Freaking out, I called them, no answer, so it rolled over to the Burbank location. Someone there put me on hold after I explained the situation. When she came back on she said that the teller would have to count her till and they would call me back. I'm still freaking out at this point. About an hour later, someone called me back and confirmed that she was $1,000 over and that it was a simple mistake of pressing 1 instead of 2! Yeah, that's an expensive mistake and what if I didn't catch it right away? Never again with them... read more
