You rarely get service like this in LA : I called in panicked on my way back from my toddler's daycare with my back glass windshield broken so bad it was marbled into a million pieces (held together by the glass tint layer!) and about to collapse. What happened - I had just slammed my trunk onto a hard object that I accidentally placed where the glass meets the trunk. And when I called Adolfo in a panic he paused all his jobs to rush back and fix it for me so I could safely go back to my child's daycare to pick her up - the glass was holding by a thread and could have easily collapsed on her since the back seat is just below the glass. My car was broken into last night and the thief completely smashed my passenger side window. I looked into a few options for mobile repairs but ultimately the 5-star rating and close location of Universal Auto Glass won me over. I called Adolfo around 9:30 a.m., he gave me the most competitive quote, and said he could have the window by the afternoon and finish installation whenever I could make it over. At 1:00 p.m., he called me as promised (!!!), I drove over to his repair shop, and my window was good as new by 2:00. Not only did he fix it quickly, he vacuumed the rest of my car, which was a bit dirty from a camping trip a few days ago, and he fixed a loose bumper which the car dealership had said required all these extra parts that they did not have in stock. To be honest, Adolfo was not my first choice to replace the passenger side window of my Acura, but it was only because he was honest. Another shop promised me they could replace my window, the next day, but they couldn't. Then then they said they could do it the next morning, but they couldn't do that either. Then it was an additional 4 days, at that point I gave up and went to Adolfo. Adolfo found a salvage yard with my window, I was able to pick it up myself saving me money. He installed it the same day. I should add that his price was excellent. He is a hard worker, a nice guy, and knows how to properly run a business. Because of all this, he is always busy, but he still managed to squeeze he in which I appreciated because I definitely did not want to be driving around Los Angeles with a car wide open to any hoodlum that wanted to break in. For some reason, about a week after he replaced my glass, my door stopped working, meaning I was no longer able to open it. I am definitely not blaming Universal for this, everything was working fine when he finished the repair. Adolpho did try to help me remedy this problem, which I appreciate because this was not his responsibility. I give Universal a solid 5 stars for value, service, and professionalism. First thing I did when I got home was to call my mechanic, who recommended Safelite. But there isn't one near me. So I started looking at the other places listed on Google Maps. I saw that Universal Auto Glass was near me and got great reviews. I called, and Adolfo, the owner, answered. Later, Safelite started emailing me with discount codes. But I figured, if I couldn't talk to a real person when they were courting my business, what would they be like if there were a problem? I got to Universal Auto Glass first thing Monday morning, and there was no waiting, no bs; Adolfo started working on my car right away. It took less than 45 minutes, and I was on my way.
