So, i've been here a couple times both for contacts and glasses. I paid $200 dollars for glasses and I quickly realized something wasn't right so I finally looked through one lens at a time and I realized that one lens was completely off, like legally blind blurry. I told the receptionist and she told me not to not look through my glasses one lens at a time. I insisted that the optometrist take a look and the receptionist finally told her that my prescription was wrong. The second time i was there, i decided I didn't want to get my glasses from their limited selection so i just got my prescription. I was given a completely useless piece of paper so i had to call in and ask for it over the phone. The receptionist did not not want to give me the prescription and insisted that if i ordered my glasses online i risked getting a "fixed prism", whatever that's supposed to mean. This place is far overpriced and needs to teach their receptionists to not give medical advice and diagnosis in person or over the phone. My advice is to just go to walmart and get your prescription for $70. If you don't like their options for glasses you can just order online. I really don't have anything good i can tell you about this place. I've been here at leat 3 times over the years. My experience with contacts didn't go too well either. The optometrist was calling me insisting we had to "close" because i never ordered their overpriced contacts. I invite Authier to reply to this rating. It's only fair that you hear both sides of the story but this has been my experience multiple times over the years. I give this place an 8/100 I was contacted by Authier Miller and one thing they mentioned is that I haven't been in for a few years. I have been a loyal customer for years....up until now. Part one: I am not able to call during the day because a) I work b) I am not allowed to use my cell phone c)I have no reception on my cell phone in the break room and have to go outside in search of a signal. When I did the on-line appointment, the response I got was to call their phone #. After explaining that I need to do the on-line appointment, I was told it would be a month. I told them no thank you. Then I was told I could be seen in Pierce. Part two: Pierce did not have all the diagnostic tools I was accustomed to in the Norfolk office and was told I could go to Norfolk for that part of the examination (miss work twice). Then I went to pick out glasses. There were maybe twenty different pairs to choose from including kids and mens. There were no frames that would fit my needs. I was told I could go to Norfolk to pick out frames. I decided to just get new lenses in my current glasses because I did not want to drive 30 miles to Norfolk or miss work again. So the assistant who insisted I get new frames said she would call me and let me know if they were available. I asked her to call my work phone because I am not allowed to answer my cell phone. She called my cell phone. Part three: I ordered and payed for my glasses. After a month I sent an email using their web site asking if my glasses were in. No response. The next day I again sent an email asking if my glasses were in. No response. When I went to lunch and was driving away from work I called and was told they were in two weeks earlier. No one called or texted me, I was not notified in any way that they were in. I told them I no longer wanted the glasses and to refund my money. I did not even get so much as an apology, no offer to make it right. I got an email saying sorry for the misunderstanding. WHAT? I will never do business with them again. I was urged to go pick up my glasses. No offer of a discount no refund.d I tell you what, with that kind of service and lack of taking responsibility I would have made a scene if I had gone down there. As a matter of principle they can shove the glasses you know where. I will add that I had the same optometrist for years and I have no issue with her. If I had a crystal ball and knew I would not be able to complete my exam in one location, would not be able to choose new frames in one location or magically know that my new glasses had arrived, I would not be upset. read more

I rarely complain about an establishment but I pick and choose where I go closely so things like this dont happen. I went in for a common issue that effects most everyone at some point in their lives. I got a giant 400 dollar bill and the DR only talked to me for what seemed no more then 10 minutes. The sad thing was their was no plan of attack on my problem, their was no follow up visits to help the issue it was just silly. I should have never went their and I never will again. read more
