I've been a client of this firm for over 8 years. The first 3 years were great--responsive service and solid support. Unfortunately, things have steadily declined since then. There's now little accountability, poor follow-up, and often no response unless you chase multiple times. For my last filing alone, I had to follow up over 50 times. At this point, I can't recommend the firm based on my experience. While I doubt this review will make a difference--since they rarely respond--I hope someone does read it and takes steps to improve how they handle client relationships. Been doing tax returns with them for a couple of years now. They are knowledgable and usually work with us in a timely fashion. We worked with Vikas and his team. They also deal with complicated tax work and give ideas on how to simplify it. They are reachable most of the times and usually get busier at the end of tax season like any other tax firm. Terrible employees, Had to make 10+ phone calls and 10+ emails to get my taxes filed after paying in full. And they were filed wrong. When i called back, the person on phone was arguing that i do not undertand. I had to go through each line item to explain that the taxes are filed incorrectly. I do not know what else has been filed incorrectly. Once you give money, they will jsut throw attitude instead of explaining the tax returns. Better give more money somewhere else. Terrible service. I've been trying to get confirmation of my 2022 taxes for the past 5 months. No one returns my emails or calls. I would advise passing on this company and find a more professional tax service. The low level employees gather data, and fill out the tax forms, but are not responsive or knowledgeable. I had one low level employee tell me my California tax rate for my return was $###. I asked her to look at my address, which reveals I live in Texas, and we don't have state tax. I have struggled to get a response from this company for the last 5 months and it's been incredibly frustrating. Vikas is the head accountant, potential owner, but he's the only competent resource in this service. Given my recent experience, I would tell you to definitely search elsewhere for your Tax needs. Unbelievable, United Tax didn't file my 2021 taxes. I was notified 3 years later by the IRS that my taxes weren't filed and I had penalty and interest fees due. I would highly recommend you seek more professional tax help elsewhere. I am highly disappointed in my interaction with United Tax over the past few years. Worst customer service never seen. Their website is so slow and I was told to upload the documents, it took me 2 hours to upload my documents and then took 2 weeks to schedule an appointment. When i got there to file my tax, they kept me waiting for one hour since the lady who files the tax is super busy. After one hour of waiting they called me inside and i explained the situation to the lady who filed my tax. She was very rude, didn't say anything and acts like owner plus she over charged me. The reason I'm giving 1 start is because there is no option for 0. Worst customer service. Overly complicated process. The website is so slow and I was told to upload the documents, it took me 2 hours to upload my documents and then took 2 weeks to schedule an appointment. Once you upload or give your documents it's like sending documents to the black hole, and you are at their mercy because you have already given your documents. I have worked with United Tax for the last 5 years and I was a happy and satisfied customer for the first couple of years. Then I noticed the quality and responsiveness declining, as if they didn't care about the customers anymore. This year was the worst, and they pushed it to an extreme where I had to get help from someone else to file an extension for my tax filing. I submitted all my documents in early April and they gave me an appointment a few days before the filing deadline (May 17th). They not only didn't keep their time, but didn't care to reschedule and give me another time and kept stringing me along till the last day. It has been a week since the deadline has passed, not a word from United Tax. I am sorry I cannot give them a 0 or a negative star. This is serious and if I continued to rely on them, I would have defaulted on my taxes. I wish I had a way to hold them accountable. All I can do is to warn others! read more
