But he is the soul of politeness; I say this as someone who is hypersensitive to rudeness. In the course of my classes, I developed grace, balance, strength, and confidence. Considering my innate clumsiness, discoordination, and shyness, I think this speaks well of Sensei Eric's patience and knowledge. I highly recommend BMAA to anyone wishing to learn martial arts from a great teacher.

The Brunswick Martial Arts Academy is the most professional, family oriented, student focused Karate Studio I have ever seen and unfortunately those words do not do it justice. Ive observed numerous students flourish under the care of Shihan Eric. In fact all instructors take such pride in teaching their students and you can clearly see the affect it has. In the younger students, I've witnessed confidence, patience, respect, integrity, coordination, focus, leadership skills, personal interaction skills and even grades drastically change for the better. Best of all the instructors treat everyone like family, and there's a real sense of community.

It had been 20 years since I was an active JuJitsu student...I felt totally comfortable being new. I had experiences with both Sensei Josh and Sensei Seth...both are exceptional teachers. It also speaks to the type of people that are attracted to The Foundry...every student I met had an awesome positive energy and were very welcoming. Regardless of your experience, this place is the right fit. The youth experience is also off the charts awesome. Sensei Shawn is one of the best teachers I have witnessed. My son is learning a ton...but he's also learning discipline...he's a wild one! Ha! Sensei Shawn has done an amazing job with helping become a better listener with holding him accountable to his behavior while also being a great encourager. It has also been a great father/son bonding experience. We commute from Dixfield and have lined up our classes to be on the same day.
