School is fantastic, but working for the school is a nightmare. I had the privilege of interviewing and getting a job offer letter with this company. I requested a reasonable 20% counter as part of routine negotiation and get this: BOBBY RESCINDED MY OFFER. Not only that, but I was promised if I "passed" the interview, then they would pay for it. Well I got the job offer, so you tell me, did I pass? Yet here I am out $500, with no job to show, and no response from the owner. Just today I got a call saying that they want to charge an additional $127.50? Excuse me? I should be getting a refund per his word. No school charges for an interview flight. CFIs beware with who you do business with. Bobby Doss is not one to do business with, and I'm thankful I dodged a bullet with working for a company whose owner gets personally upset when I discuss salary negotiations. I took a discovery flight at UFS with my wife over the weekend. I am an MEI but I am trying to convince my wife to get her PVT. the school is very well maintained and equipped ( numerous spacious classrooms, a full motion sim, a great little pilot shop, and the overall feel is professional). The fleet is diverse and very well maintained. Our instructor, Andrew, was great at explaining everything and piloted the plane very well. I recommend this flight school to anyone trying to get their pilot cert or commercial cert. read more

I had a very very bad experience. To begin, the head dispatcher has no clue on what she is doing, very uneducated in aviation. Airplanes were in poor condition, from MEL after MEL (radios, fuel gauges, controls, rpm gauge). The owner had a big ego, basically saying my money was no good, because I was following the rental contract, which he obviously didn't revise as he had no clue of what was stated in it, regarding limitations, currency, and night flight. The only person who has a clue going on here is the head of maintenance, as he understood the regulations and contract, unlike the owner and lead dispatch. If already in the program I would swap to another school, or if your going to start I would recommend "Texas Flight" or "American Flyers", they have nice and reliable aircraft and very nice instructors. read more

The staff and instructors are wonderful and really made me feel comfortable.  Gary at the front desk was so helpful and explained all aspects of their programs and even stopped what he was doing and took the time to take me on a tour.  The training planes have been refurbished and look great. The instructors are so knowledgable and gave me a true sense of caring about what I was looking for in a school. I felt like it was all about me and, not like so many other places, where it was just about my money.  All that, and their prices are more competitive than the other places at the airport.  I would highly recommend United Flight Systems to anyone. read more

I haven't flown GA in a long while but decided to have UFS take my daughter on a discovery flight. I sat in the back of a very nice 172 and witnessed an exceptional job the CFI did in explaining the basics to her. As a major airline pilot, I am a bit critical and was impressed with the personnel, leadership, aircraft and overall operation of UFS. UFS is a great school if your desire is to learn to fly. One of the owners, Bobby Doss, is amazing with some of the best customer service and attention paid to his students that i have seen. All of their aircraft are well taken care of with the utmost attention paid to student safety. From the office staff and dispatchers, to the flight instructors, all the way up to the management team they are there to help you achieve your goals. I've been flying with UFS for about 8 years now, no problems and a great bunch of people but recently they imposed a new rule that doesn't allow private pilots to rent aircraft when there is a 9Kt or greater crosswind on the runway. This pretty much eliminates your ability to rent an aircraft from UFS because it seems there is always a 9Kt crosswind. You finally get an airplane at a time you can go fly (which is difficult given the number of students they have flying there) and then on a beautiful day with a nice breeze, you can't fly. It is more than a little irritating. Conveniently if you have a commercial rating (like all the CFI's of course) you can go fly pretty much anytime you like. I don't see the school shutting down flight operations when there is 9Kts crosswind, only the poor schleps who have a private and are not a student. It may be time to find another place to rent aircraft. read more

I have been to this flight school for discovery flight and i have got Gordon Morrow as an instructor. He was awful rookie and far from professionalism. We spent almost 45 mins on the ground for preflight inspection to determine if the plane OK to fly.!!! What a waste right??? And during the inspection i caught him checking out my gf butt. Didn't want to say anything just kept it rolling. Anyways Finally we got on and took off.. Didn't enjoy the flight at all.. During the flight he made atc really angry for some reason not sure why??? Flight lasted only 15 mins and ended with really hard touch down and i thought wheels came off and we landed on the belly.. Lucky to be alive right.?? So be careful and don't be fooled by how they advertise on social media. read more

BE CAREFUL! This flight school has very poor ratings elsewhere. For example, after I shared my opinion on Facebook page of United Flight Systems the review section was removed. I wonder why... Luckily, I don't mind to post my comment here as well: If you want to experience great customer service you'd better find another place to spend your money. One day I asked the front desk very nicely if I could borrow an extra headset for one more passenger and Bob mocked my voice like I was a little kid and refused to give me one, even though it is free for customers. We had to use cheap earplugs that day and weren't able to communicate with our pilot nor with each other. This kind of attitude makes me think that safety is not priority number one here and the only thing the staff seems to care about is renting a plane to the next person. Imagine, if any other business owner treated you like this? I think that if anyone wants to fly here as a passenger beware of their safety standards on their planes. I regret spending that much money and time at United flight systems. read more

Not pleased with this school. I have made two attempts to acquire instrument flight training from them with negative outcomes. The first attempt I was scheduled with an instructor. I took the afternoon off from work to fly with him. He contacted me one hour before our flight to cancel due to his more important corporate job calling him. I was already in transit to the airport. I asked him to contact me when his schedule allowed. He never contacted me. The second attempt was made several months later. I again visited United and spoke with Gary Wayne their Operations Manager and a instructor named Joe. I explained to Mr. Wayne that I needed to do some instrument work and then enter their CFI program. He stated that could be accomplished. I gave him my contact information and was assured I would be contacted that afternoon to be scheduled. I never heard from him or any other representative of United. It appears United has a significant problem with follow-up, scheduling and caring of the needs and desires of their clients. I am now working with another flight school on field who is attentive to my needs. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, we had to land the plane we rented because the alternator started to go out, which should have been serviced before they rented out the plane! But the worst part was when we returned the plane the only thing they cared about was that we didn't turn the plane in on time! Really?!?!
