Being based out of the Phoenix area, I find that Southwest Airlines and American Airlines are the…read moremost ideal airlines to fly for me. While I typically fly American Airlines, every now and then, I do find myself on a Southwest Airlines flight. While I know some big changes have just started being made on Southwest Airlines including the cost of luggage being added and assigned seating starting soon, the "no frills" concept of Southwest Airlines for better fares and the "outrageously fun" service culture intrigue me with the airlines as a customer and observer. In fact, I typically have had very positive customer service experiences whether in advance on the phone or in person at the airport. For more first time ever flying into Panama City, I flew in on Southwest Airlines with layovers in Austin. On the other hand, I have flown Southwest Airlines every now and then through other airports like Phoenix, California, Las Vegas, El Paso, or Albuquerque. While I have never tried the A-List program before, I have membership in CLEAR and Global Entry, which help me speed through security to get to the gates. I also find myself enjoying lounges through the American Express Platinum card and/or Priority Pass program. It also provides a travel incidental which I often will use with Southwest Airlines. Traveling has become more of a hobby and habit at the same time, and using Southwest Airlines and American Airlines as two the two airlines that are most convenient for me, I can accumulate points or miles quickly for future benefits. I actually recall learning about Southwest Airlines in my business school classes way back when as it was used as a regular case study, and I loved reading books about Herb Kelleher and the early days of Southwest Airlines and its service focus not only to customers but to employees as well. After all, if your employees aren't happy, your customers certainly won't be. I recall living the Southwest Airlines experience on holidays when everyone was treated to drinks, through fun and entertaining announcements by flight attendants, and when I was younger, even being invited to pass out the peanuts (in the days well before pretzels were instead distributed). As the recent Southwest Airlines changes are so new, the jury is still out on how I feel about them. For now, I can still expect great service, which is really what we're looking for (besides safe and timely flights). I look forward to continuing to check in with Southwest Airlines every now and then.

I booked a round trip flight from Gainesville, FL to London. I wanted more leg room and asked if…read morethe seats reclined significantly more in Premium Economy. I was told they did so I opted for this. I found no difference in the seats and was totally uncomfortable. The seat was hard as a rock! Coming home I was in economy! I thought I had Premium for both flights. I had a large painting that I had wrapped up and was charged over 200 pounds for shipping. Got to Atlanta and was told to wait where the fragile stuff would arrive. I waited 2 hours! No staff around! It never showed up so I was told it would be at my destination. Got to Gainesville, it was late, I felt horrible and just wanted to be home. Everyone had their luggage. All staff but one had gone home. No painting! I was told it would arrive the next day. It never arrived!!!! Now I'm on hold for ...45 minutes!!!!!

I've recently had several travel legs on Delta. All flights were on B737s or A321s. All the planes…read morewere in great shape and the flight crews were nice. All the crews were adhering to pandemic protocols and they still don't assign anyone in the center seat unless it's a family traveling together. So, I don't know if others have noticed that the aisle has become a little bit tighter over the years. I know all the carriers are packing in the number of seats these days but that's not much of a problem if you're under 5' 5". I really like the entertainment systems built into the seats. There are numerous options for you from watching movies to playing games to monitoring your flight progress. You can even play multiplayer games if you know the seat number(s) of those you want to challenge. Earphones are complementary...just ask! There's also WiFi available for a fee. They provided a small snack bag that comes with a small bottle of water and crackers (or similar). All my flights were on schedule. No problem flying with Delta in the future.
