What more can one ask? The last time I ate in the cafe, which can get very hot as its all glass, a robin was dancing across tables and saying hello to people. Unhygienic perhaps but great nonetheless. The food, as a rule, is lovely, but they stop serving hot meals at 2pm - unless you want to get stuff that's been sitting out, eat as close to then as possible. My fiancee and I bought a converter thingymajig for around two quid allowing us to turn run of the mill 2 litre plastic bottles into birdfeeders. An invention of Dragons Den proportions, and a handy way of not spending a bundle on containers to feed tits and things. For gardeners this place is a must, in my opinion. Its one drawback, I think, the toilets are a bit of a trek from the cafe. For pensioners or those with mobility issues, this can prove a problem.

But I do find garden centre relaxing and Rivendell is no different, maybe it's the sounds of water features. Rivendell offer a great selection of a great many things. The books in particular are always very reasonably priced. The cafe is sweet, full of old dears and never too expensive. And there Christmas displays are always lovely. To get into the garden centre on during the festive season you have to walk through a snowy path where they display all their trees. They do also sell real Christmas trees outside.

It's quite prominent on the main road so if you visit it, you can't miss it. It's got quite a large car park but can get very busy in there on weekends. Product wise, it's got a really good choice and is a nice place to come and have a look around even if you don't want to get anything as you can easily pass an hour or so here. First off when you get in there's a coffee shop which does a range of snacks and some meals. It's not cheap in here but there are plenty of seats and the foods ok. Inside the rest of the garden centre you have giftware, books, magazines, some sweets and food, pet supplies and garden items such as lawnmowers etc. Outside is quite big and they do a large range of plants and shrubs, most of the shrubs are arranged alphabetically in rows, and the plants are split into types, however I would say have a good walkabout as things aren't always obvious. There is a water gardens and pond/aquatic section too with a really good choice of fish, accessories and tanks. You can also pick up garden pots (and they often have some on offer), ornaments, stepping stones etc that are a bit different. The staff here are pretty helpful, we've asked them before when buying lawnmowers and they've put one aside for us while we've been at work. Prices are not too bad, and the quality seems pretty good. For those people into crafts, there is a separate concession inside the store that sells lots of crafting products, a wide range of papers, stamps, card making items etc.

A path leads you down into the garden centre proper pst displays of gazebos and summerhouses and a beautiful slate based water feature. Pimbo has literally everything you could want for your garden from hundreds of stles of decorative pots right to an ornamental bay tree shaped as an aeroplane.Round every corner is something new, water features, bedding plants, perennials, annuals, herbaceous plants, trees, fruit bushes, herbs, vegetable plants,ornamental grasses, hanging baskets,planters, stone gargoyles, sculptures - it is never ending. There are several huge greenhouses with all the tray plants in them and many more plants on trestles around the grounds. All the plants look well tended and it is usual to find a couple of staff members out watering and dead heading. There is also a range of garden furniture and aggregates of all kinds in large bags.after looking round all the outdoor space you end up in the shop area to pay for your stuff and find lots of other stuff - seeds, trellis, books, ornamental stuff and all manner of gardening bits and pieces. Pimbo also do a delivery service which is very reasonable cost wise and saves you trying to cart home large or heavy items. Staff will be there to help choose or find your items and give you a price estimate for that new bathroom suite or laminate flooring. Prices in general for DIY essentials are not too bad, obviously depending on the brand and type of item. Most of the time, you will find what you are looking for and not have to run around in circles since they have well displayed signs for each category. Taskers is certainly a decent store and up there with the best; it sells quality products at competitive prices therefore it is always worth a gander.

Although the business has been around 50 years and has a few stores around Liverpool, its still independently owned. Any queries will probably be answered by John Tasker son of the founder Jack. With their own kitchen designers, paint mixing, timber cutting and delivery services, this is an excellent alternative to soulless big chain shopping.

This place is a family run firm who can compete on price with the biggest carpet retailers. But the real plus point with these chaps is that they use their own fitters and they'll obviously be able to help with technical stuff given their expertise. They have a fabulous local reputation and its well deserved in my opinion. They also have a good sized carpark which isn't obvious from the street but worth knowing about. Also they are very negotiable on price I've found and its worth haggling a bit. They have a bathroom division which I've heard good stuff about - I think its run from the same building but its actually a separate business.

Wait on the phone several times to have promise after promise made but to no avail. Really what can you do? The online chat is not working due to the pandemic, 60minutes waiting time for any kind of response n the phone if you actually manage to get through, so here's a thought... do not take orders if you cannot fulfil them. My son is in a half completed bedroom because of poor service, no delivery, empty promises. If it ever does arrive lets hope the unit is not like the service.
