All you can eat buffet overall the food is great for the price I would recommend this place for anyone

It's honestly the best tasting Chinese buffet. But I'm EXTREMELY WARY about all the heath code violations (which are public record) this place has. Jaw dropping. I've only been a couple of times and never gotten sick but jeez. They also weigh the food you don't eat now and charge you for it. read more

This may be the BEST Chinese buffet in America. Very bright, clean and modern feeling. Staff is very friendly and continually cleaning and prepping the buffet. Food is endless. This buffet is surprising good! The staff is always very friendly and the food always fresh. My husband loves the Sushi and I love the peel and eat shrimp! My little kids also love to eat there, beteween the mac and cheese pizza, chicken nuggets fresh fruit and jello we get no objections to something to eat. We are frequent visitors of this buffet. Having a large family means we need to go somewhere affordable that has a decent selection and good food. This establishment used to be an Old Country Buffet and we enjoy going to buffets but never had a chinese buffet close enough. The decor is just like any other chinese restaurant with your option of a table or booth. There are flat screen TV's located around the establishment for you to enjoy. For this specific location it is a nice and clean establishment. It is never crowded and they cater to big parties. They have a space for you to do special events like a birthday party or baby shower. The servers are good with keeping up with the refills on drinks and clearing the table when you are done. The food is always hot and fresh plus they have a pretty nice sushi selection. Overall you will like your experience and you get what you pay for. read more

I went to United Buffet with my father and fiance and we had a horrible experience. When the waitress sat us at our table she did not ask us about drinks but instead when we asked about our drinks she said "go get them they are right there" and pointed to a section that was labeled employees only and had the soda dispenser. The shrimp was NOT de-veined. Our waitress was extremely rude. The cantelope and honeydew had mold on them. When I informed my waitress that the cantelope and honeydew had mold on them her exact response was "we dont make the honeydew or cantelope here we order them and only cut them." Instead of either taking the tray to the kitchen for the kitchen staff to figure out why there is mold on them and fixing it. Most of the food by the time we got to our table had gotten cold. Rice was overcooked and sticking together. We asked to speak to the manager about our experience at United Buffet and our waitress refused to get the manager only telling us that food there is good. I would not recommend even my worst enemy eat there. It was $10.99 each for dinner which is average price for the capital district, however if i wanted horrible service and horrible food i could have just as easily went to the dumpster out back of McDonalds. Stay FAR away from United Buffet.....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!! Also If it would allow me to give this restaurant no stars I honestly would give it a 0 star rating read more

Meeehh.. where do i start?! Went here with my mom and baby for the first time today for lunch, not even a hi or hello from the receptionist, but Im glad she gave us a booth because of the carseat.. food is ok, warm but lacking in flavor.. large selection but not special, place is clean and buffet tables are kept tidy. Service could be better.. I have been to capital buffet at wolf rd, dragon buffet in central ave many times (there's not a lot around here anyway).. i still like dragon buffet the most . i feel they are more courteous to non-asian customers too, prices are cheap,but we won't be back. read more

This buffet use to be good when it opened a few years ago, but it has gone way downhill. The night i went the restaurant was about half full. Most dishes were barely warm and looked like they had been sitting for quite some time. i got a plate of the hibachi with noodles, shrimp, and vegetables and the shrimp were beyond edible, they had a gritty texture like they were filled with sand and i noticed that they do not take the vein out of the shrimp which pretty much means your eating a really nasty part of the shrimp. The waitress got and attitude when she picked up the plate of shrimp and gave me a dirty look like i was just supposed to eat them. Also i go some of their fruit salad that was mixed with a sweet dressing and mini marshmallows and noticed it was mounded with marshmallows and barely any fruit, i thought this was strange as it normally looks very good. I now know why it was mounded with so many marshmallows, when i bit into the fruit it was clearly evident that it had gone bad and they were just trying to cover up the bad fruit with marshmallows thinking no one will notice (or taste it). This buffet use to be a value with good fresh tasting food, but now with rotten food and inedible shrimp this buffet is no longer a value. read more

This was a pretty standard Buffet. The food was okay, and then included many of the same things you would see at other buffets. Certainly quite a lot of food! I suppose it depends on what you're in the mood for, shoveling your face for a cheap price, or caring about a quality meal. read more

This place used to be the best bang for your buck but in the past year or so there has been a big decline in the variety of food available. What makes it worse for me and my husband is that we do not eat seafood - we would come for the peanut chicken, the barbecue ribs and their Pork roast that was fall apart tender and amazing. They still do make the chicken but they do not make anything with pork and pepper steak is the only dish that is not seafood or chicken. I am a fan of their chicken (Gen Tso's, Terriaki, Sweet & Sour, Peanut, Fried) but it gets old. I can see the value for those who eat seafood especially sushi - but I would rather go to a different Chinese buffet and spend my money on something other than chicken that I can eat. I wish they would bring back the pork - the beef roast they make now is inedible and nobody touches it so it just sits there - they probably think they are saving money when they are just losing customers. read more

The food was reasonable as Chinese buffets go. There was however a regrettable incident that ruined it for me. It is our anniversary and this was my wife's choice of place to eat. We ordered two buffets but one drink. I didn't want anything to drink. Anyway, my wife wanted a refill but the waitress wouldn't provide one, made a face at my wife and sent her manager over. "If you are going to share drinks, there will be no refills." I never touched her glass, didn't want her soda, and would have been happy to order and pay for a drink if I wanted one. It is not an expensive item at all. Lose a tip, a return customer, and get a less than glowing review for implying I would what, steal a soda? read more

We were pleasantly surprised when we finally decided to tried this place. It has a nice, fairly quiet, decent atmosphere. The food was very good and there were dishes that I shall remember for sure! I recently ate there and there was a corner of a plastic bag in the cream spinach. If that wasn't bad enough, when I showed it to the waitress she said it was an onion. But she could not tear it. BUT WORSE THAN THAT, the manager came over and accused me of complaining every time I came in there. She was load and ugly and ultimately reduced the bill by 10%. I never liked the food there, it was always someone else's choice. The food is bland and without taste, full of heavy nasty sauces, the only good thing in there is the Habachi, but if plastic corners from their processed foods can find its way into the food, God only knows what else is in the food. My wife and I have been going to the United Buffet, which had become our favorite Chinese Buffet, usually arriving around 7 o'clock twice a month since they opened years ago. A few months ago we stopped in earlier just before they were switching to their dinner pricing. We had no problem with paying the dinner price, but the skinny oriental woman working at the desk starting screaming and harassing us that we couldn't stay for 2 or 3 hrs and we have never stayed 3 hours. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we left. My wife waited in the car and I went back in to try and talk to her about why she was being so abusive to us when we have never done anything wrong since we've been going there. Nothing seemed to get accomplished. She was very uncooperative. A couple of months later we decided to give it another try. We were seated and everything seemed to be okay until I went up for another plate of crab legs. The same woman came over to my table and asked me to come up to the front desk so she could talk to me. She said we were taking too long to eat. We had actually been there one hr and fifteen minutes. There were plenty of empty tables and no one was waiting in line to get in. When I told her that we would probably never come back since she had spoiled our dinner and we had not gotten a chance to finish our meal, she didn't seem to care. Then I told her that I was going to tell all my friends about the treatment we received and she didn't care about that either. We will never go back to the United Buffet and we do not recommend it for anyone else either. We were treated very abusively for no reason. So beware, if you eat a little extra crab legs or don't eat fast enough you will get harassed and thrown out. read more

this place is less than mediocre but i thought hey my sons and I are out and about and this was convenient. this place is ridiculous. so i was ready to cash out and noticed that they added the tip already. i inquired about this practice given the fact it was not posted anywhere. after the waitress pretended to not understand the simple math and english she got the jerk off manager who immediately turned it into a racial issue by telling me the practice was for everyone not just me and further began to explain what a tip was. i said to him it should be posted. many seniors come here and i am sure they don't know about the double dipping. he continued to elude to the fact that i just didn't want to tip instead of addressing the real issue. as my children and i left an elderly woman stopped me because she heard the exchange and was outraged at the sneaky practices. the karma of all this is that i work for the consumer protection agency and this will not go unnoticed. read more

my son took me n his girl out 4 dinner when waitress sat us never asked us if we wanted anythging too drink when my son went up front n asked vbout drinks they pointed too an area that had an employee sign 4 soda they cooked shimped on several dishes were not deveined that fried rice was overcooked stucked togather food got cold really quick melens had mold on them n were slimey the general toas chicken had no spice at all too it it was a sweet chicken at best chinese donuts (biskets) were cold n hard hardly any sugar on them i agree with my son on u deserve no stars i rate this one minus 3 stars n ive been too alot of these buffet in the area this one is the worst read more
