My brother was upset with me earlier for getting him flight with one-stop but after he got home he text me, "thanks for the ride, it was dope! Best part of my day." So thank you I've traveled a couple times through LAX where I had to use LAX-IT to ride home which I think is widely known to be the worst transportation service of all times. As stated the obvious, I want to tell you why LAX-IT is so bad and miserable: 1. Shuttle service is not reliable And by that I mean I had to walk to LAX-IT a couple times before catching an Uber 2. Time consuming 3. Due to price surges, you'd end up paying 2x more than what you paid to get to the airport. With all that being said, except this time my little brother was supposed to arrive at LAX and I didn't want him to have the miserable experience I experienced with LAX-It. After looking up a couple transportation services, I couldn't believe that I could've saved money and time when I needed a ride home by just reserving a private transportation service so I went ahead and reached out to a couple places on the day of my brother's arrival. Since it was just a couple hours before he'd arrive, most of these places didn't accept my request to send out a driver to him because it wasn't ahead of time (on average, transportation services require at least 24 hours before guest's arrival time). Eventually, I came across United Executive Transportation and a very nice man (I wish I had asked for his name, but was so stressed out about not finding a driver to get my brother that I forgot) answered the phone when I called. At this point I knew what to ask when I called these transportation services and that was 1. Do you have a driver for tonight at 9 pm (which was within just a couple of hours) and 2. How much would it cost from lax to irvine (which from experience, uber/Lyft charged me at least $200 from lax to Fullerton). So as long as there was a driver and it was less than $200 then I was good to book which I did with this service. All in all, I want to especially emphasize on how reliable they are! We have been using United Black Car for transfers between San Juan Capistrano and LAX for several years now. First with Anup (RIP) and now with Connor and Feroz. They are always on time and very helpful. Connor even threw in an extra stop on our last trip. Although we could have easily turned to Uber, hubby had concerns of a stranger coming to the house. He felt more comfortable utilizing a business where you could easily track down the same person if there were issues. Not sure what's going on with these guys. Because I've used this company before, I proceeded to book even though when I booked online, no price was quoted at any time, including with the booking confirmation and automated emails. Had to call, and then found that the fares, already not cheap, increased 40% for the same destination I've booked with them not long ago. Gas prices are up, but they've also fallen a lot in the last 45 days, and I got far cheaper quotes from several other highly rated companies. I also was told they only have one vehicle now. The man I was talking to was just filling in, he said. None of this gave me warm fuzzies about the reliability that anyone seeking airport transfers wants first and foremost. With all that and the price jackup, I decided to book elsewhere and cancel my reservations with this company. Emailed them to advise of cancellation and requested a return email confirmation. I'm so glad I reached out to UET to help me with transportation during my son's event! He was so helpful loading and unloading large items I needed to transport to the venue and made sure the car arrived clean. I must note that he was the only one to respond to me fast enough and I had reached out to a few other companies. I had special requests due to the large items and the need for a car seat for my son. He even offered to come back and retrieve additional items that I decided not to take due to the time crunch.
