The worst experience ever. I asked the woman who was giving me a haircut if she was good with fades and she kept saying yes of course. She ended up cutting all the hair from the sides to leave just a little on top. On top of all this I asked the woman to just shape and trim my beard and she charged me 30 bucks for the beard trim, moreover, I didn't notice any difference. I have been going to barbers my whole life and I never had to ask for shaping up my beard, this is what all barbers do without extra charge. I left without any hair, not speaking even of fade! This place is an optimum balance of premium quality craftsmanship at a mid-tier price and a big place. You don't need an appointment which is a great thing as you can walk-in anytime during the business hours and the business hours are big enough to suit any working man. Let's talk about the hair artists here. The place is owned by a great Turkish Man called Hassan and his son, AJ who just happens to be a master craftsman and one heck of a champion hair-dresser. I am not exactly the best at providing directions so I showed him a picture of myself with a haircut and beard trim from a few years ago that I thought was best. AJ looked at it for a few seconds and BAM, in a few minutes He showed me a mirror and I was so happy with the cut. I would highly recommend this place and will be visiting them from here on in. So thankful to have found my favorite barber Hasan and his son Ajon at this nice place in Tysons Corner. It is on the second floor right outside Lord and Taylor's near the food court. They offer great hospitality and will treat you better than any barber shop I have ever been to. WORST PLACE WOULD GIVE A NEGATIVE 10. This place honestly is the worst place to get a haircut!!!! My boyfriend came in for a fade around the sides and to not touch the top. BUT the barber kept touching the top and gave a zero all around. The barber seemed very inexperienced and did not listen to the customer's wishes. He kept sighing the whole time during the haircut and clearly displayed the worst possible customer service ever!!! Multiple times my boyfriend reminded him and told him not to touch the top. Yet the barber did the exact opposite of what was being asked. I strongly advise people to only come here if you want the worst haircut possible. I went to the shop in the evening and was served by a lady. My haircut was done within 5 minutes for $25 dollars. The worst haircut I had in 5 years. I loved the hot towel and the straight razor which should be standard for a barber shop but unfortunately it isn't. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the price. I did not have Hasan or AJ, but now that I see all the reviews praising them I wish I had. My experience was very different. My barber took multiple breaks to make phone calls during the haircut. I also told her I didn't want it too short, that I like my hair longer, and just wanted to tidy up my look after growing it out for about three months. She promptly gave me a buzz cut on the sides, the exact opposite of what I wanted. Rather than cutting it to the length I wanted, it will now take (no joke) at least two months to grow out to how long I like it. I would've told her the length was too short, but she literally buzzed over a strip of my head with the clippers and then said "how's this?" after nearly shaving my head. My options at that point were to tel her it's WAY too short and end up with one giant strip of shaved scalp with super short hair while everything else was closer to what I wanted, or to simply accept that I was going to have to deal with a look I didn't want for months. You get what you pay for- the cut was cheap, but now I feel like I have a cheap haircut. read more

I have been to this barber shop 3 times. Each time a different person cut my hair and each time I loved it. Today was the best experience yet so I decided to write a review. AJ was serving people quickly since this place is becoming more and more popular, but he still took care of each person and did a great job. I even left and came back because I realized I should've told him to cut the top a little bit shorter. He happily took a few more minutes to make sure that it was exactly what I wanted. Huge mistake... spent over a year growing out my hair just to have these guys ruthlessly chop it without so much as checking... the front of my hair varies by almost a full INCH in length from the left side vs the right... the sides were buzzed without good fading and left a distinct line... For some damn reason he used a buzzer on the TOP when WAS almost 4".... not it's about 3/4" in the back, uneven everywhere, about 3 in the front left, and 2" front right... The dude didn't wash, rinse, or even spray my hair before cutting.. didn't trim around my ears leaving annoying and unsightly longer strands, and the whole thing took about 10 minutes. Spent roughly $30 on a cut that I could have done better myself blindfolded... And it's going to COST me at least another 4-8 months to get the length back to what I wanted it CUT to... Major fail... can't recall a time I was more dissatisfied with a cut + overall experience... :( read more

Nice shop run by AJ and his father, Hasan in traditional Turkish fashion with modern amenities. On a quiet Thursday afternoon around lunchtime, I got a regular hair cut that was reasonably priced ($22) for the area. AJ was thoughtful and deliberate in his work. Additionally, I treat myself to a traditional shave once a year around my birthday, often upstairs at the Art of Shaving. While the Art Of Shaving charges more than $50 for a "Royal Shave," AJ gave me a clean shave with the bells and whistles like hot towels that the Art of Shaving for ($35). He told me that he's passionate about preserving the traditional Turkish shave and that he imports his Shaving cream and other materials for the straight razor shave from Turkey. I was impressed with how meticulous both men were in their approach and it showed in the results. My search for a regular barber in the Northern VA area has come to a close--United Barber has won my business. I look forward to stopping by to see them again soon. read more
