Ali always does an amazing job! I have been coming here for years and even though I moved to Richmond I try to stop here for a haircut with Ali when I'm in the area because he does such a good job read more

They generally do a good job with men's hair, while also respecting the clients wishes. After my boyfriend cut his hair, it was a bit odd at the bottom portion near his neck. We went back after about 20 minutes of walking the mall, and the person cutting his hair knew exactly why we came back. After waiting for his other client to finish, he swiftly helped my boyfriend fix the end trims with no problem. Really attentive and quick, and I appreciate the positive experience letting me watch! read more

Just left with a new cut feeling great! AJ took his time methodically cutting my hair with expertise and skill. I left feeling like the $40 I paid was well worth it! Side note that the current pictures advertised on maps as of Jan 2026 are outdated and the business has since then been completely renovated. read more

I wouldn't go back again. The Vietnamese hairdresser took more than 1hour for a simple haircut and he charged me $60 dollars instead of $35 just because I asked to trim my beard a little bit which it took him only 5 minutes to do. The funny thing is, there were other customers who were not happy as well while I was there for some reason read more

the worst place as far as customer service and satisfaction are concerned. The place was understaffed, rude and dismissive. When asked to cut a bit more hair, the person was very abrupt and dismissive. Left with a very sour taste in the mouth after this incident. Will not be returning to this place. read more

Asked for one inch off, instead only left with one inch of hair. As a Vietnamese person the Vietnamese woman barber did not listen to anything I said, and decided to do whatever she wanted to my hair instead of what I wanted. Have never been so mad after a haircut. Do NOT go here if you want to actually get the haircut you paid for. read more

Located inside Tysons 2 Mall. Received a fairly average haircut. Surprised the barber was able to pull off a fade. Didn't want to risk dealing with scissors for the top or hard parts. Content that the barber was aptly skilled. read more

I went for a women's haircut, just to trim a couple inches and add some layers. My barber was efficient and checked with me the lengths. She did a wonderful job and the cost is affordable. My partner already goes here monthly for men's haircut and he's always had good experiences. read more

Don't know how this place has a single good review? Unsanitary and just all around bad. Do NOT recommended! The prices aren't even low enough to warrant how bad it was. read more

It's either starting to be very pricey or I've been scammed!!! Hasan charged me $30 for a 5 minutes haircut while the regular price is $25!!!! I asked him why $30 and he said its always been like that $30! It's not my first time at this place and when I'm reading the reviews everyone say its $25 so I still don't understand why he charged me $30!!! I just got a regular haircut no shampoo and I didn't ask for anything extraordinary..Clipper on the back, sides and scissors on top...! read more

Visiting from Los Angeles. Second time here Barber binh (sounds like ben ) is an excellent barber. Courteous. Interested in his customers. Good insights on life and the world. His barber skills are second to none. Traveled over 3k miles and this second visit with binh for a fade made it all worth it. After finishing my friend picked me up , saw my result, and immediately decided to get a cut from him. Binh is that good read more

This is my first yelp review. I'm writing this because I've received the absolute worst haircut of my life here. I went to see Carlos, who appears to be a nicer elderly gentleman. As nice as he is, he shouldn't be a barber. While I was getting my hair cut, I could tell that his hands have a noticeable shake to them. He is unable to cut hair in a smooth fashion due to that constant shake. I asked for a simple line to be cut into my hair but instead he absolutely butchered it. The line was about a half inch wide, completely uneven, and didn't even follow the existing hairline. (See first photo). After seeing enough, I asked Carlos to stop and called over AJ to see if he could fix my hair (see second photo). He was very apologetic and worked his hardest to try and salvage my hair. He was very professional and I wish I had gone to him first, instead of Carlos. read more

Biggest pet peeve for a customer is when they don't listen what you asked for. Asked for a skin fade and barber gave me a trim. Smh. As barbers you should take the time to listen to what the customer wants and asks for. It's all rushed and roughly chopped. No care or dedication, just the urgency to make your days money. People want an experience and a well done job, especially if they're paying for it. Thats how a good business works and operates, they ensure customers leave the salon happy and satisfied. read more

Bin is the absolute best barber!... I've been going to him for just under a year now and every time he delivers. He takes his time and focuses on the details to make a good haircut, great. I've never been rushed or had a haircut I didn't like. If you ever go to Hair-cuttery then try Bin, the difference in skill is night and day. Unfortunately the only negative is now price... It used to be $25 for a Men's haircut but is now $30 after COVID-19. I can't blame them for trying to pay the bills... but I hope it drops back down as a $5 price hike is a lot for someone like me who goes every three weeks. With other places being around $22 in the Tyson's area, I might be forced to try other places. read more

Exceptional service from Halil at United Barber! His skills are unparalleled; he gave me the best haircut I've ever had in the state. His mastery with the straight razor for beard trims, coupled with hot towels, made the experience truly top-notch. My hair has never looked this good! Halil is a true artist at his craft and I highly recommend him for an impeccable grooming experience. read more

One of the best haircuts I've gotten in the area. I went to Ali and he really knows how to cut hair well. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he made it happen exactly the way I showed him. He hit me up with a great fade and went above and beyond. Definitely going back to him for my next cut. read more

Went to Tyson's today to see Demon Slayer and afterwards went to get a haircut. I rarely change barbers, however a friend of mine convinced me we both needed a haircut. So we stop at the closest barbershop in the mall, which is "United Barber". I ask for a mid fade. I have braids and to which the man cutting my hair asks "0 here?" Pointing to right under my braids. We go back and forth for a second really trying for the imagery in my vocabulary. But I just showed him a picture and he said he understood. I watched him do exactly what HE said originally and I was irate. After he was done I was visibly angered by what I considered a messed up haircut. They offered for a fix up which I refused after first, but giving it a second thought I said why not. So they have the SAME GUY come to my head. I got up immediately and knew I was never coming there again. read more

I went there sometime last winter and I had forgotten to write a review. I simply asked to get my bangs trimmed and the experience was bizarre and abysmal. They got an assistant/trainee barber to cut my bangs but he was unattended and they did not effectively communicate to him how long my bangs were meant to be trimmed. It took a long time. One time he had dropped the scissors on the floor but continued cutting with it, and I could feel his hands shaking/quivering when cutting my hair. He clearly didn't know what he was doing. After a while, they actually had to switch him out with a different barber, who accidentally hit me in the head with a hair dryer. Next to me, there was a customer and worker arguing with each other over toner the whole time. I originally had to pay $30 for this until my friends defended me and lowered it to half price. read more

My husband is so picky when it comes to his hair cut, he never had his hair cut in barber shop. He used to go to a salon and had one hair stylist for many years. Since she moved far, my husband wanted to give a try Barber Hassan, who he has got his beard trimmed by before several times. Thanks to Hassan he got his hair cut flawless and very well done!!! From now on he is gonna be regular customer:) read more

I take my kids here every month to see Binh and AJ. Both do an excellent job of cutting their hair. They are patient, kind, and meticulous with the cuts. The prices are reasonable. It's also conveniently located in the middle of the mall so it's easy to run an errand before or after. read more

Ask for Bin. he is cordial professional and styles my hair accordingly. Very fast and efficient. listens and enjoys a chat while cutting.

How nice to see a classic, old fashion barbershop in the mall. It's only $25 dollar for hair cut which is extremely cheap for a Mall like at Tyson. As soon as I got in to the shop there was a good looking guy with a gorgeous smile welcomed me. WoW, I felt very special. Because as a customer it's really nice to see that you're being treated nicely for bringing business to them. I've been directed to Ms Filly, and I really liked the cut. Super clean, fast and no appointment needed. If you guys miss old fashioned barbershops like United Barber then this is just for you. Thanks !! read more

The cut was bloody good (and I mean literally!) While the cut was fine for me, I unfortunately experienced multiple cuts from the barber on my neck because of there sharp blade. Because of this, I'm a little bit in pain and it's a shame for what the service was given. The price was $25. Not bad but please make sure your up to code with your health procedures and your not cutting people using your razers. read more

The barbershop is located on the second floor, next to Lord & Taylor. I went there on a Monday evening and only had a couple of people ahead of me. A.J. was a very helpful man, and gave me a couple of suggestions. He always asked for my opinion and didnt hesitate to make the changes I requested. He made sure I got the cut I wanted. They dont shampoo your hair and I feel they can do more in dusting off all the hair from your face. $25 + tip for a cut in the mall is pretty much what I expected. read more

Good place for a basic cut. I had the pleasure of sitting in Hasan's chair (nearest the entrance). The cut I received (scissor and clippers) is just as good as the one I receive from my regular DC barber...who charges more than TWICE as much! If you are looking for a basic cut, I highly recommend giving it a try. I will be back! read more

This is being reported as closed. It is not. They moved locations in the mall. The entire shop is brand new and I think it looks way better. The new spot is on the second floor of the mall near Lord and Taylor. It still is one of the best barbershops that I have been too. Hasan and AJ are very skilled at what they do and take great pride in how you look. If you havent been there, go check them out. I am pretty sure you will be switching barbershops! read more

I had high hopes from them but for the money they charge for a beard trim is pretty high. Not a good job done for $35 shave. The guy who gave me a shave didn't even give me a proper cleanse after trimming. Pretty basic services for what they're charging. You have plenty of options to go to if you are willing to spend this much for a shave. read more

Unless you like getting your haircut by someone who does not listen to any instructions and proceeds to cut 2-3x the amount you wanted, do not go here. The person who cut my hair was short with me and did not listen to my requests. I even tried to navigate how much I wanted during the haircut, but it was like I was on mute or somthing. I like to keep my hair some what long in the front, at least over my eye brows, but while getting my bangs trimmed I was told to "close my eyes." I don't know why I listened to the request, and I now realize it was to get me to stop giving comments on how I wanted my hair cut. I open my eyes to see my hair is about 2 inches above my eye brows. Before it was about 3 below. I gave clear instructions to keep it at or below my eyes brows. I now have to wear a hat for the next 2-4 months because of the barber who simply would not listen to me. Also, the cut was done in about 5 minutes; to me, that shows the barber did not care and wanted me to be out of there as soon as possible. I will never be going here again. read more

After being in US for 5 years and visiting many saloons was very happy to find the Barbers who does not just buzz the hair with a clipper but a professional cut with the scissors based on the description you give. $30 for a haircut plus tip but still would recommend this place . read more

I'm an east asian teen that needed a hair cut because this place was the closest to where I was. It went perfectly, I showed the barber the hairstyle I wanted and he immediately understood. He literally cut my hair exactly how I wanted just based on the image I showed alone. In fact, I loved the haircut so much I drove across multiple states to come back to this place to get a second haircut a few weeks later. This time it was a completely different barber. I thought to myself "okay, i'm not so sure about this" but because of how well his hair was styled I thought that it might go fine. I was wrong, I showed the man a picture that clearly shows everything I want, a low fade and a slight trim on my middle part. He completely ignores the photo and doesn't give me a fade, instead cuts my hair flat, shaves off my widows peak. While he was cutting my hair he kept pressing an air dryer against my skin causing me pain and I clearly tell him it hurts. But he ignores me and tells me to stop moving even though my skin feels like its being pressed against a hot iron. I have school in two weeks. Thanks! read more

Came here from Memphis tn. Me being a man, doesn't enjoy shopping or malls at all, but if you put a barber shop in a mall... real game changer, nothing is more relaxing than a warm buzzer on your face or head. I forgot the name of guy who cut my hair, bit I have nothing but praise to the nice Turkish man. Gave me the perfect haircut and beard trim. He said he worked cutting hair for army, probably how he became to great fading and knowing how men like it. Washed my hair and gave small massage which isn't needed but felt good. If you're a guy, or girl that can enjoy a great haircut check this place out. If they aren't busy when you walk by, drop in you won't regret. read more

I've gone to Hassan at United Barber for over 6 years now. I can't say enough good things about the way he runs his business. He is flexible and easy to get appointments with, extremely consistent with the quality of the haircut every time, and always has a friendly, positive attitude. I think their pricing is extremely reasonable based on the level of haircut you get - and the times Hassan has been out of the business I have gotten great haircuts from everyone that works here. Highly recommend! read more

Another great haircut and grooming service by Hasan and his son AJ. Not only did I receive 5 star experience, I was provided a coffee from the Panera Bread next to the United Barber Shop inside Tyson's Corner Mall. This shop knows and cares about fast and friendly service. Hasan and AJ know a great deal about family because they are a father and son duo plus other barbers at the establishment as well. They have a great following in the community of Northern Virginia region. Style from the neck up with clippers, scissors and razors. To be honest it is few and far in between to find such curtesy in this area in terms of men's grooming. I always am in search and continue to search for quality attention. If you want a buzz cut or a cheap $5 alternative do it yourself but if you are looking to build a competent rep-ore with a barbershop, this is your spot. read more
