I am a former educator with 15 years of corporate, state, and private education experience. A word to the students who are given an excellent sales pitch at Unitech. Do your homework! Investigate thoroughly how you are investing your time and money. First and foremost Unitech is a business. Like any business, it is designed to create as much revenue as possible. The student comes 2nd. None of the "teachers" I encountered had any prior educational or training experience. They hired individuals with a clinical background. The teachers are underpaid and overworked. They are required to teach both day and evening classes. This is the first time I had ever encountered this model. Most institutions hire part-time teachers for the evening classes. The greatest complaint that I received from the students "they felt they were not learning anything". With that said, most of the students were not disciplined enough for the academic environment they had chosen. They would show up at anytime during class, were not prepared for the lesson, and many disrespectful. Since most of the teachers did not have an academic background, they were not prepared to handle the situation and would allow disruptions. Thus, the student was not being prepared for the real world and allowed to participate in an environment that would perpetuate failure. (1) When seeking an institution of higher learning - make certain it is accredited from the United States Department of Education. http://www.ed.gov/accreditation This is the accreditation that employers will ask for and businesses expect. (2) Calculate per academic hour the cost. You will find you are paying about 4 times (or more) than necessary for your education. Again, I strongly suggest you do your homework. read more
