I used Yelp's Request A Quote to find a roofer/contractor. And considering our leak happened on a Sunday night, that's when I reached out to several companies. Many got back to me within the hour, including River City Vinyl Supply & Roofing. And if it weren't for a rainstorm on Monday, he would have come out that day. But he was able to come and look at the problem and have it fixed within an hour or so on Tuesday. John was speedy yet not pushy. He brought with him one of his employees, who actually got on our very tall roof to look at the problem. He talked through what he found with me and sent me a formal quote before proceeding. Turns out the flashing had pulled away from the chimney, and the mortar between several of the bricks had worn away. He showed me some photos of the roof to help me understand. After he was done, I was able to pay him easily via PayPal. And now we're talking to him about tackling our rickety, falling apart gutters as well. Refusal to call me back when I asked and did nothing to keep me updated on the schedule, timing, anything. They updated me only when I called repeatedly. There were also problems during the actual replacement. Workers were careless and damaged some of my property. They left several pieces of siding off of my house, one hanging off the side. They left garbage and materials behind with no intention to correct it until I called about it. I had also left a Google review, which they responded to essentially deny all responsibility and tried to pin all the blame on me. The review is also coincidentally removed so they have a perfect 5 stars again- I'm guessing they disputed my review so they could look good. Terrible communication, zero accountability, and honestly a bit sketchy. Unsure whether some of this was due to the pandemic or if it was just poor management. If you want a company that will admit their faults and actually communicate with you, look elsewhere. Skyguard will only disappoint you.

Our realtor recommended Bone Dry Roofing when we bought our first house. The previous roof had two…read morelayers that were in poor condition, rotted decking, leaking and molded chimney stack (which needed to be torn down and replaced with a b-vent), plus flashing needed in several areas. We were overwhelmed by the amount of work needing to be done, but Bone Dry did an excellent job of explaining everything in detail, and we went into the job feeling confident in Bone Dry's abilities. Our appointment was originally scheduled for before we moved in, but was pushed back several times due to other jobs running over, which was a bummer considering it was scheduled 2-3 months in advance. We were happy though with the continued contact throughout the job, and the friendliness and professionalism of our point-of-contact on-site. He continuously texted photos of the job, the damaged decking, and explained what they were doing and why. Our only complaints are 1. of course, being pushed back so many times, but I have to understand the nature of the job. We were hoping for the job to be done by move-in for the sanity of our dogs. 2. They completely tore off all of our gutters, and even left some parts on that now dangle off of our house, which sway in the wind causing damage to the siding. It may be common sense, but we didn't realize all the gutters would be torn off and when we followed up with Bone Dry about it, they gave us another quote for installing new ones (which ended up being almost half the price of the entire roofing job itself). Needless to say, we haven't replaced the gutters just yet, and were a little disappointed by the lack of communication on the matter, especially with how awesome and thorough they were with everything else.
