I am beyond impressed with my service from Unique. I just moved here from fla and I heard some good things about this place. I was able to come right in to get a pedicure, my nail tech pai li I think was her name. She did an amazing job! I expressed to her that I work in the hospital and im on my feet all day and how the last techs i went to messed my toes up. She made sure that I was pleased with my nails every step of the way while still allowing me to relax. I will returning as regular customer with my 4 girls. Thank you Pa li! read more

If you're in a hurry! My only problem with this salon is they are not clean!! The salon needs a makeover. I would consider it very clutter and cramped! The more popular they got the less clean they are in my opinion! I seen the salon when they first opened, same management over 15 years. That's not to say they don't have some excellent nail techs. FALSE ADVERTISING! The only reason I am giving even 1 star is because they never fixed my nail when my tip fell off the VERY NEXT DAY. They kept making up excuses as to why they would NOT fix it for me. Also, they straight out LIED to me when I went to get something waxed. I had also wanted to die the tanning service I've ALWAYS used as a last resort to gain my color back up after the winter months are over (because I need new bulbs in my own home tanning bed that I own, so it takes MONTHS to get results in my home tanning bed). Therefore, I have ALWAYS used Unique Nails to gain a quicker base tan up since 2014. I remember distinctly because that is the YEAR I GOT MARRIED (this is important). Anyhow, as I'd mentioned I went in to have something done and wanted to tan and the MANAGER straight out LIED to my face and contradicts herself many times when I asked to tan. First she says, "We never have tanning service here , ever". Me: "Oh, really? I have used your tanning service before and am a regular and seasonal tanner, so no ma'am, I am in NO WAY confused". I then said, "Why are you lying to me? That is VERY unprofessional of you". Manager: "Oh, oh.... We once did have it. I remember that we have not had it for a long time now. It's been man, many years, ok?". Me: "With all due respect, it couldn't have been that long ago. In fact, not even year(s); plural, because I was just here last summer season!?! Manager: "No. That is not true (while she has all her coworkers laughing with her at me) because for starters, I can understand their language and did not enjoy being called "stupid" in front of everyone, then proceeded to tell me that I AM WRONG because it's been TWENTY YEARS since they've had a tanning service! I recoiled, but handled myself well.. Me: "No, ma'am I am far from the name you just called me, that which I WILL NOT REPEAT because it is in NO WAY funny to speak derogatory words when there are so many people who are mentally disabled people in this world who would find that offensive and be very hurt by THAT WORD! Her mouth just dropped open because well, I guess she didn't expect me to understand her language and cruelty, so then all she continued with to do was glare at me for a moment.. so I continued-- YOU ARE A LIAR. Me: "And, as a manager, you are VERY unprofessional, as well a very ugly person on the inside for using such a hurtful, cruel, and mean derogatory word like that. Also ma'am, YOU ARE A LIAR and need to take your false advertising down. You should update your health inspection as well (bc I took pics of not only that but of the false advertising of the tanning) . She flat out ignored that. I continued.. Me: "Well, why do you still offer the service like on your website and right here in front of me on your wall? You not only lied to me, but you were rude to a loyal customer (still irrelevant) because ANY customer should be treated with the likewise respect given, and you not only contradicted yourself when you told me that you HAVE NEVER offered tanning services, then only AFTER I called you out on your boldfaced LIE, you all of a sudden remembered that you "had" a tanning service many, many years ago. I then caught you in THAT LIE as well (also people backed me up who had tanned during them time periods) too because I'd been coming in here since 2013- 2014 AND I was also just here last summer season, so NO IT HAS NOT been for 20 years as you tried to LIE AGAIN about. Managers response now? Well, she in no way apologized, then she began treating other customers disrespectfully and rudely when they agreed with me. A few people were becoming very annoyed with her and just began leaving before even having any services done. She still ignored pretty much any of her wrongdoing and cruelty. Other than looking a bit astonished that I could understand her language, she began to smile at me and ask me what other service would I like to have.. I was thinking... WTH?!? Oh but here's the kicker... After I got home, I called from a different phone number to ask about their tanning services (in a somewhat different accent), and GUESS WHO answered the phone?! Yes, it was her. And she was ever so sweet and she said, "yes, yes, come right on in but you will need to bring your tanning lotions, etc- as we do not sell them. Y'all I don't EVER do this. But I am about to DO. THIS. DO NOT ever go to Unique nails in Covington. This guy took a chunk out of my nail bed while digging around my cuticles, then when he finished my gel polish, I had to ask for my big toes to be re done bc they looked like a toddler painted them. A lady came over and "fixed" them (nothing changed) and acted very condescending about it. The polish is PEELING off my pinky toe already (I just got in the car!!!!) and here is the grossest part- they were clipping the lady's nails in the chair next to me and the pieces of nail were flying all over me!!!!! The dust from them grinding her polish was all over my black pants. And then I take my shoe off outside to find one of her nails IN MY SHOE!!!! . I spent so much money on NOTHING, and now I will have to go somewhere else tomorrow and spend more to fix it. read more

NO. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Never in my life have I not tipped for a nail service, but my manicure was not even worth the $10 they charged me. I've never had a spa experience feel more clinical. I sat and waited to be served for nearly thirty minutes, and from the time she started to trim my nails to the time it was done was less than 10 minutes. She got up multiple times in the middle of my service to finish other customers. My nails are not shaped (VERY jagged) AND she didn't let my nails dry in between coats. The worst ever! Customer service is terrible they will sit you in a chair for as long as they can until you get someone to even look at you and say hi. I came in at 12 on Sunday which is the time they open. They sat me in a chair for 1 hour and 45 minutes. They asked me what I needed and it was a simple gel natural nails polish (white). I sat in the chair for the longest while other people came in with mani and pedi and were treated. While I had the time I noticed how nasty and unsanitary the place was. I just left the salon all together without getting the service I came for because I waited for a total of 40 minutes to just get my eyebrows waxed... the only time someone came to see if I was waiting on someone was when they asked me to move for the seat so two other women could get there eyebrows done first??? The customer service by Philip and Julis is what gives this place 1 star they care more about making $1 than keeping customers, went in today and I have been going there for over 10 years and most itmes don't get my customer appreciation card stamped but I had two one had 2 stamps but the other had 8 and they wouldn't let me combine them. First time here it was packed but I was in and out in no time! I got a mani and full set, the guy that did my pedicure was nice and the pedi was quick. Unique Nails employees are nice and welcoming. I went in for a full set and pedi. My nail technicians made sure I was comfortable and I was very pleased with my results. However I am only giving them three stars because the prices were so expensive. The full set started at about thirty bucks and my toes were about the same. The wait seemed unnaturally long. I came in for a pedicure, and had to wait almost 25 minutes in the spa chair (which hadn't been cleaned from the previous customer...gross) before someone finally came over to clean the chair and fill it with water. Then I had to wait another 5 minutes or so before someone else came over to start the pedicure. She had to keep stopping to do finish another girl's manicure, which was a little annoying. The lady who did my pedicure rushed through it (I assume to make up for my wait?) but because she rushed, she was really rough on my toes and cuticles, causing one of my big toes to hurt and bleed a little. She also put some of the pedicure utensils in the water where my feet were to rinse them off after she used them on me. Yuck. The salon itself seemed a little dirty, which could have been because they were so busy and hadn't had a chance to tidy up, but a dirty looking salon is not really what you want to see when you are getting a pedicure. I guess they are doing something right, because they were busy, but I don't think I'll be back based on my experience. If I am going to pay $25+ for a pedicure, I want to at least enjoy the experience. read more

It was a small crowd when I arrived, but as soon as I walked in they began on my medicure and pedicure. I been going to Unique Nails. I want to say for about 8 maybe 10 years ... a very long time nonetheless and in the years I've had many bad experiences but I typically don't complain b|c they have always redeemed themselves. 8/10 of the nail techs don't know what they're doing and majority of them don't even have license to do it. Because I've been there when the inspectors came in and have had a nail tech get up until they left. I always loved getting my eyebrows done by Dismond and recently about 6 months ago started allowing Lana to do my nails they do a really great job I can't speak for anyone else. Today 2/19 I went in after paying 10.88 (Lyft) to get there and typically Lana is always there so I never bothered to call and ask. When I walked in Phillip greeted me at the door asking what services I was wanting I told him "Lana for my nails and Diamond for my eyebrows" he stated Lana wasn't there. After paying 10.88 I damn sure wasn't gonna turn around and go somewhere else so I agreed to go to someone else. They placed me in at station 2 originally which was Lana's station and changed me to station 7 to a nail tech I went to before that a terrible job painting my nails when i asked her to fix it she got an attitude and Hanh had to fix it. So I told her I didn't want her doing my nails b|c her energy was terrible. They put me back at 1 and the girl from station five came over and asked me if she could do my nails and I said that was fine. She seemed really sweet prior to starting on my nails. However when I started tell her how I want my nails unlike I have to do w| Lana she started forcing her opinions on me. Like do wtf I said im the only paying. They love to pressure you in gel nails and pink powder yet the shit last just like the others do. She started todo everything I asked her not to. After laying the acrylic thick UNLIKE I ASKED I was like ok, maybe she's going to buff it down ... then she cut my nails VERYYYY crooked until the coffin shape I requested ... so that's when i was like oh nah fuck this. So I said "you can stop I'll pay for it from here" they told me to wait right there and then moved me back to Hanh station. Hanh asked what I needed her to do I told her I wanted it all off she said that was fine and moved me to station three to soak them off after about 10 to 15 minutes I turned around to ask her was it ready to be wiped off. She said "no it's not if you can leave". Phillip came over and wiped my nails off them said "next time find a different nail salon to go to b|c we can't please you" as if I won't take my services right up the street to Kim's where they actually know how to do a quality pedicure instead of putting shit on your feet that requires you to come back one a week to make them money. I then turned around to Hanh explaining to her why i stated even though Lana wasn't there which was because i has already paid a lyft to get there. She said "I completely understand next time just call" (WHICH I DIDNT BECAUSE LANA IS TYPICALLY THERE) I said "okay that's fine can Diamond do my eyebrows" SPEAKING TO HANH she looks over to him and he said "no you can leave". So! YES,I sure tf will take my money else and y'all can kiss the fuck out of my ass. Trust me it took everything in me not to knock everything down on my way out & I'll be sure to inform all my friends too and take 85% of the congregation w| me rude asses. read more

This place is horrible! They do not care for the customers and they are very rude. They do not know how to shape nails whatsoever and they rush with all of their services. The place is dirty and unsanitary. After I left from the nail salon not even 30 minutes 3 of my nails were broken. The last time I went my nail shape was supposed to be square after about a week they looked round when I went back today they told me it was my fault my nails are round because I work. Mind you I'm 9 months pregnant and haven't been to work in a month! They were very unprofessional when I asked them to handle the situation of my nails being messed up. My daughter and always have our eyebrows waxed here. Today we went and I was asked if I wanted to have my lip waxed and I politely said no. The lady said why your mustache is very long(which I do not have a mustache. Again I politely said no. She then turned to the employee and they both looked at me while speaking their language and laughing. I 'm pretty sure she was talking about me. When I said something to the lady at the front desk, she of course said oh I'm sure they weren't laughing at you. I will ask them not to talk in our language the next time you come.
