Location is a bit sketchy even in the daytime, but it's worth going if you're looking for huge selection of cheap t-shirts and other apparel that's more expensive with good quality. The $10 t-shirts are really the only thing I would come here for, because everything else is kinda expensive ($30 coffee mugs, $15 key chains). They also have Mardi Gras beads, postcards, stickers, and a few other things. read more

I didn't have any problems here the 3-4 times I wondered in here. Shame I was staying almost across the street and this spot does not come up when u yelp search. So this is a liquor store, beer, wine, check cashing in the back, and snacks. I was just fussing to my babe about some spot charging me $10 for a beer when I spotted this place. Line is long and yep there are folks outside drinking beer out of paper bags. Half of the folks were tourists and invited me to get a beer n join them. I did btw lol. So good beer selection and not just Louisiana beer which I'm not a fan of. I got me a tall can of voodoo ipa and a bag of cheetos for $3. Now we re talking. They have a big checkout screen u can see the prices for everything. Takes card or cash. Cashier even tried to find some nacho combos for me. Aw well. Cheetos worked. I stood outside with my brown bag n chopped it up with some Ohio state fans. Hidden gem. Come on by. Just don't block the entrance. It gets a lot of traffic. read more

This is a great place to stock up on snacks, sodas, beer, and other alcohol while you're staying in the French quarter. It's definitely not fancy, but they did have some nice Bourbons, including Rabbit Hole, Knob Creek rye, and Buffalo Trace. read more

Nothing special, similar to your local hood corner store, they do not accept EBT card, they accept cash, debit and credit cards though its a check cashing place in the back in the corner. Lots of homeless people and security. Its across the street from the Wyndham hotel. The store stays open really late too, I forget what time exactly. My Husband went in to get Two Packs of Cigarettes (1: Red Crown, and 1 Menthol Crown), and a lighter. The older guy went to get them after my Husband told him what he needed, the guy asked is : that all my Husband said yes and all the older guy had in hand was a lighter and the Red Pack of Crown's and no Menthol Crown's. My Husband told him what he (my Husband) said and the old guy said that my Husband was lying that my Husband only said: Red Crown's Pack and a lighter. I stayed at the hotel across the street from this grocery store so it was pretty convenient. I'm not sure if this store is 24 hours or not but I feel like all times of the day and night it was open and there is always police and/or security presence visible. And I can see why! There are definitely a bunch of sketchy characters here. I wouldn't feel comfortable going here alone. Most times I just needed to grab something quick like water or snacks, but the lines are always long. This place claims to have the cheapest prices in the French quarter but I disagree. read more

This place is sketchy as hell but they cash checks for super cheap and do money orders FOR FREE! Western Union is cheap and fairly quick. Look, you will most likely get hustled going in and out of the store but just keep your wits about you, don't engage in conversation with drunkies, and keep your purse close to your side. The clerks are good about getting you in and out quickly. Parking is pretty much impossible so park a few blocks away and walk or do as I do and bike (just make sure you lock it up). read more

I mean its ok for a quick stop for beer or liquor but the food looks old and the service is horrible.Usallly in high traffic party areas the store attendents are very grateful for you even stopping by there store since there are various other options. A nice quaint general store for your snack and alcohol needs while cruising around bourbon and various other streets nearby. I'd say the Unique General Store has a larger collection than most other nearby small markets, but beware of large crowds during the day and shady individuals at night. They always have an armed guard on site, but honestly an uneasy feeling while shopping at night. I'd rather stop by the CVS across the street though as their prices are competitive, ample selection of goods, and pricing may generally more attracting. Not bad though if you need a quick run in, pay, and get back on the street for some good times. read more

First stop when we get to New Orleans is "bag of beer". I'm not buying food or ambiance or anything else. I'm buying beer in a bag. Tradition says this is our go to place the first couple of days. Conveniently located right across the street from the French Quarter Holiday Inn. Cheap booze/energy drinks. Not the tastiest things ever, but if you want to get DRUNK, you'll find what you need there. Do not give this company your business. In addition to the place being dirty and disgusting, they have zero customer service skills. The store clerk yells at the customers telling them to hurry up. I had gone in there to buy a homeless guy some water and cigarette rolling papers. I wasn't going slow in the line at all. I was paying with my debit card and he gets angry at me because his machine is taking too long. He said to me, "Come on man. Hurry up! You with your debit card." RUDE! read more

BEST PEOPLE WATCHING IN THE QUARTER! buy yourself a brown bagged bottle here and take a seat on the patio at the checkered parrot across the street. the drinks at the parrot are outrageously priced, so order a mixer for your booze and a half order of nachos - they're huge and probably won't kill you. the service is slow, so it'll give you plenty of time to take in the characters at unique. did i mention that this place cashes checks on the cheap? a brass band passes by every night around 8:00pm. be ready with your video recorder to capture the next youtube video to go viral. read more

Great spot! Don't get your hopes up for a comfortable atmosphere but the security guard will keep you safe. Best place for a cheap beer or build you own cocktail. Free ice and cups. Convenient location to French quarter and mid city. Rather give them my money than Walgreens too. read more

Your security guard today was very unprofessional and really rude and accused a young boy of throwing up gang signs when all he was doing was dancing the boy came in the store with his mother the get a drink and was told to stop dancing first the so called security guard want to be cop should think before he acts the kid was not stealing or doing any harm or bothering anyone he was just dancing. After the mother and other people came to the boys defense the so called security guard apologized to the mom but not to anyone else not to the kid you should be ashamed will keep in mind not to ever shop there with employees who behave that way. I come here all the time during lunch for the cheap beer which is why you will find all the homeless drunks of the quarter in there. Not the safest place. I like that Money orders are free! As far as service goes, never had a problem. The guard at the entrance is polite and kute. All in all, good place for alcohol! read more
