I owe my wedding planner Sari Sosa for linking me to Unique Design Studio. I was looking for a photographer that captures the most perfect candids but also the details effortlessly and last portraits that didn't feel like a chore! Finding a wedding photographer is probably just as important as setting the date and picking the venue. These pictures are everything and will be shared and looked over for the years to come... First we did our engagement session. I wanted the classic outdoor natural lighting, but then being in the entertainment industry we wanted something a little more cinematic but fun and Martha understood. We found lounge that had different rooms of decor. Capturing our eclectic tastes! Next, Martha and Jesus flew over to New Orleans and spent the weekend with us. Starting with our welcome cocktail. They captured the celebration of everyone who had just made it to the Big Easy on Halloween Night! The details of the masks and other costume accessories were captured from the welcome station to the fun of putting them on and parading about during the cocktail. Finally the big day came. At this point I was impressed at how quickly I was already getting teasers of the welcome that I already knew I was in for a treat with our wedding day pictures. I don't understand how Martha and Jesus have all the energy but just when I thought they were on one end of the room, there they were capturing another corner and moment. I think everyone remembers how impressed they were of the moments captured during our "Second Line" and how they were zig zagging around capturing all the dreamy photos one would hope for! The turn around on photos is unreal! We were still on our honey moon and we were getting all sorts of shots, perfectly organized too might I add! From the moment I contacted Martha, she was disinterested and apathetic. She made no effort to get to know us or what we liked/wanted, and seemed annoyed by our attempts to do so. But her reviews were great and people I knew liked her. I have waited over a year to write this, trying to be fair and hoping that the sadness I feel when I look at our photos faded. It hasn't, and it won't. Martha was just as apathetic the day of our wedding, and our pictures show it. The few decent photos lack creativity and personality. Countless shots that I specifically asked her for are missing. For example, I had a mini first look with my Dad and nephews. Zero photos of that because the "lighting was bad." I thought making sure the lighting worked was her job. My girls and I were wearing Louboutins. I specifically told her that I wanted photos of us together with the shoes on and the heels showing. The only photo I have of the shoes on a shelf is a still shot that she obtained from our videographer, even though she had hours to take one because my hair/makeup person ran late. No photos of me and the girls in our matching pjs or robes. No photos of the bride balloons and decor in our room. BASIC shots. I put on my earrings without thinking. She rolled her eyes at me. I told her I would take them off and she told me to forget it. That was the tone. It was clear that she didn't like me, and didn't care about capturing the moments or photos I had specifically requested. There are no formal pictures of my 80 year old parents. When I asked her after the fact, she said that the parents of the bride is not a shot she normally takes. No photos of us walking around saying hello to everyone at the reception-that was when BOTH her and her husband decided to have dinner, thus missing that entire sequence. I have no bridal portraits, maybe 3 photos of me alone. No photos with our officiant, a dear friend. Again, what we would all consider to be basics. I literally cried when I received the photos for the first time. So many moments missed. So many photos I specifically requested not taken. She literally argued with me that our welcome sign was never put out until I sent her a photo a friend had taken. She was never apologetic, only annoyed. We didn't even do a wedding album because we couldn't find enough good shots. We struggled to find a few to do a wall collage. Whenever I mention it to others, those who know her say, "wow, she seems like she had a really off night." Except that "off" night was my wedding day, and I can't get those moments that she didn't capture back. read more

I used UDS for newborn photos for both of my children (born in 2007 and 2015). Back in 2007, I heard about them from a coworker and it originally drew me to the business. I was very pleased with my first child's photos and when it came time to choose a photographer for my second child, there wasn't a second thought about using them once again. Not only are they one of the few reasonably priced studios for newborns, the quality of their photos supercedes all others. When I arrived for the session with my second child, I brought some photos from my first child's session. While these are very outdated and simple, and are not anything like what newborn photos are like these days, I wanted some of the pictures to be similar in nature so that I could display both children's photos together. Our photographer, Gigi, was extremely patient with us and she matched up the photos of both children to the tee. We were over the moon with the results and look forward to using them for future family photos. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about UDS! We were recommended to them from my best friend who did both of her children's photography with them. I called them and from the first conversation we had, I knew they were amazing. They were incredibly easy to coordinate with and had very competitive prices - especially for the watch me grow package we wanted to do! Before our maternity photo session I went to their studio to try on outfits and find the ones I liked most! On the day of our session they encouraged us to bring our dog who is such an integral part of our family, and something I didn't even know I could do. The shoot was so much fun and even my husband loved it! They work with Face By Grace to do hair and makeup at the studio. I felt beautiful for our session! One day later they sent us the photos to view and they blew me away! We recently did our newborn photo session and again it was the most amazing experience. They were patient and let me breastfeed her three times to get her into a more relaxed state; they never made us feel like we were holding them up. The set ups they put together were so beautiful, and the photos of our baby girl with my husband made me cry. Again one day later they sent us our photos and they are all perfect. Every set up was so incredibly put together and I'm struggling to determine our favorites. I would highly recommend UDS to anyone looking for the best quality photos with the most kind and talented group of people. I cannot wait for our next photo session at 3 months! read more

Do NOT recommend this place at all! There are better studios in Miami. The staff is super rude and NOT willing to help. My sister took her 15's pictures with this studio 3 years ago and we are still waiting for an enlargement! We have had problems with this studio since the beginning. We wanted a specific enlargement of a photo and when we received it, it was low quality and poorly done. Not to mention the photo had no editing whatsoever (poor lightning, skin blemishes visible, grainy appearance, etc). When we asked the studio to touch up the photo, they said it couldn't be done without airbrushing the whole photo and making my sister look like a fake porcelain doll. What kind of studio doesn't have photoshop or a basic editing program to erase a simple blemish on a photo? They were very uncooperative. Given that we paid so much for these pictures, we expected our photo enlargement to look perfect and it was far from that. We asked for a different enlargement since they couldn't enlarge the photo we originally wanted and here we are, three years later still waiting for it. read more
