Today, my wife visited this store to take photos for her RAMQ card. She encountered difficulties while attempting to download the photo due to an OTP error. An employee kindly attempted to assist her, but the code was still not functioning. Consequently, she asked another employee for help and also inquired about the refund policy, as she was unable to download the photo.
Regrettably, instead of assistance, this employee made an inappropriate comment behind her back, using the phrase 'Bloody Indian.' When my wife requested to speak to the manager to report this behavior, it was revealed that the individual in question was, in fact, the manager. He justified the comment by stating that being called 'Indian' is not racist, as he is also an Indian and proud of it, without acknowledging the use of the word 'Bloody.'
It is worth noting that my wife and I, despite our shared ethnicity, are not from India, nor do we identify as Indian in any way.
Although other employees were witnesses to this behavior, none of them intervened. They claimed to be occupied with other tasks and were unaware of the situation. It is deeply concerning that such behavior appears to go unchecked by the store's staff. read more
