I've been using this facility for a long time..it is very convenient. And I'm happy with their service. Contacting customer service to get or update billing information, is a nightmare. Waiting 2 hours for an x-ray. About 10 other patients have gone before me. The desk staff was waiting on my doctor for clarification on my referral, but then failed to answer when my doctor called back multiple times. The staff doesn't seem to care at all and is acting like it's not their problem. They didn't bother getting me seen faster after their mistake. Also this wouldn't be a problem if they just took appointments for X-rays. Very frustrating to have this poor level of customer service. read more

I was a previous patient at Chelsea Diagnositic Radiology, (CDR) on 17th street for years until Lenox Hill brought them over, I went there and the place is big the front desk is friendly but all of a sudden they have started billing and asking for money before the visit. Most companies know that you can look at a deductible but dont know if its to the moment, meaning there could be a payment on there desk not posted yet. THEY CHARGED ME BEFORE I WAS EVEN SEEN. NY STATE LAW States you can have a yearly mamogram, I Have had breast Cancer and treatment and need to still get yearly mamograms. THAT IS SOMETHING NOT SUPPOSE TO BE CHARGED FOR, not even a copay. I Was charged upfront and the doctor was not in licenced by my insurance to do the procedure, NOW WHOS fault is that? I keep asking them to refund me my money as its not my fault and they should not be billing me anyways. Of course this has been 4 month process and still no payment back to me, if this was a few dollars it would be one thing, I was chardged hundreds of dollars upfront. The cost of medicine has gone up but I feel these places are trying to get money upfront and worring less about the care of the patients or weather monies were warranted by the patient. THis is a travesty of care. I would warn people do not go here unless you absoutely have to. They billing department is not helpful, its hard to get anyone on the phones what is a person suppose to do. I am just out the money until this gets resolved. They seem confused and just doing what someone tells them, but there has to be another more efficient way to deal with people who are coming obviously because they need some type of radiology services, we are not looking to be defrauded of monies or our time. read more

Let's talk about Lenox Hill Radiology. I've been to two different locations - the first was in Downtown Brooklyn, the second was this location in Union Square. The facility itself is fine, even if the changing area is a little cramped. Honestly, this isn't even about the MRI experience itself even though the wait times can be long. This is about the billing. Lenox Hill tells you - the patient - that you have to pay them up front based on an ESTIMATE that they run, before you are provided any care. This is only an estimate. They have not actually procsesed a claim with your insurance to determine how much you ACTUALLY owe. I discovered this after my first MRI when I received a check for the full amount I paid some months later. I was told that an "audit" determined that I was owed a refund. Well, fast forward to last year. I called to schedule another MRI. I asked the scheduler if it was true that I was paying an estimate up front, that they hadn't connected with my insurance. She confirmed this. Lenox Hill takes forever filing the actual claims to determine how much you actually owe. And when they get ready to do that, if your insurance has covered you 100% for your service, they'll give you back the money you loaned them! What a bunch of crap. Providers aren't supposed to charge you in advance based on estimate mock ups. These aren't copays, either. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to shell out and eventually get back after your yearly "audit," Lenox Hill. File the claims on time. Get paid on time. So many people choose freestanding facilities to save money, and this is an absolute swindle. read more

Ive been a customer for over 2 decades, in the last year of making appointments the service has become less reliable and frequent issues of last minute cancelations and issues of scheduling team being unknowlegable. This place seems so convenient with their online scheduling, however there is no one looking at it. There have been multiple occasions when I have booked my appointment and there is no one working who can do that exam. As someone who also works in outpatient imaging, this is not how it's done. I came in for an x-ray and handed my medical order to the receptionist. The receptionist, Roshan Ahmed asked me when I walked in if it was for the chest and I said 'no'. I told her it was my tailbone. Roshan Ahmed said was going to talk to the X-ray tech. As I was waiting I could see she was shopping online. 20 minutes later Roshan Ahmed came out and said I was good and handed me instructions obtain x-ray results tomorrow. 20 minutes after that the tech came out said that the script legally needs it to say sacrum or coccyx. The x-ray tech asks Roshan Ahmed to get a verbal confirmation. Roshan Ahmed talks to my doctor on the phone and gets verbal confirmation that the x-ray was for the tailbone. I ask her if needs she anything else. Roshan Ahmed said 'no'. 20 minutes later, Roshan Ahmed tells me she needs the Doctor to fax the script. I was at LHR Union Square for over 90 minutes and didn't get an x-ray. The manager was not in the building unavailable. read more

I love the fact this place offers Saturday appointments - I have been here twice. First time I was here, I got an MRI and I waited for a really long time but the staff was cool enough to tell me what was going on. I get this Indian lady doing my MRI on my left hand and wrist. OMG, I have gotten MRI done before and never once did I experienced this much pain. SERIOUSLY, the most pain I ever endured for an hour! She supposedly says their machine is the latest MRI machine and that's why it's set up the way it is rather than me lying straight on my back. When I went Uptown to get my MRI done, they let me lay on my back with my hands falling naturally to my side. Over here, they make you lay on your stomach with your arm fully extended in front of you. Then they put this triangular foam pad to lift your legs up. After laying there for an hour, I came out with extreme pain. I recently went here to get my right hand and wrist and I get the SAME DAMN lady to do my MRI. She told me it was only going to take 30 minutes but I ended up being stuck in the MRI machine for an hour. I told her when I came out that foam pad really hurts and she told me oh, you could have told me and I didn't have to put it there, I put it there so your feet won't be near the bar. WTF! Oh if it was optional she should have asked me, not freaking assume that I would mind my feet by the bar. My feet being near the bar won't cause me any excruciating pain! Seriously, who sleeps on their stomach in a U shape? WTF - that's my only complaint about here, so the total amount of pain I had to endure twice causes this place to be knocked down by 2 stars. One, the lady should have been informative and don't assume! Don't freaking stuff no damn pad causing my back to form into a U - Shape! This ain't no Cirque du Soliel here! Two - don't tell me I am going to be in there for 30 minutes but meanwhile she meant an hour. For 30 minutes, I can come out of the damn machine and let her know about the damn leg pad. Sum of this place...NO LEG PAD unless you're lying on your damn back not on your stomach! The lady is crazy for thinking that's a normal body position! I left that place again with the worst pain ever on my back and arms! read more

This is the THIRD TIME Lenox Radiology needed to redo my mammo images b/c the images they had obtained the previous two times had not been satisfactory. Today, I arrived at 8:15am for an 8:30am repeat mammo appointment, because they always tell you to arrive 15mins early. I had also completed my pre-reg forms online prior to my appt. I was called in for the mammo a little before 9:00am and finished at 9:10am. Because there had only been one other patient in the waiting room when I had arrived, I thought things would move quickly. However, after waiting 40 mins for someone to review my images, I told the front desk I needed to get to work. She told me she would check and see what was going on and told me to have a seat again. She returns to her desk a minute or two later, but I am told nothing. At 9:55am, I decided to just change and leave for work. As I am leaving around 10:00am, I am told that the mammo images they obtained were not satisfactory AGAIN, and that they wanted me to repeat the mammo AND on top of that do an ultrasound. In disbelief, I told them I would just go to a different center because I had no time for this. If a doctor had just been present during my mammo to make sure the proper images had been obtained or someone had reviewed my images during the 50mins I had waited, this could have all been done on the same day. This is the third fail for Lenox Radiology and I will never return. read more

I just had a great experience at this location, part of Lenox hill radiology. I had a MRI which can be nerve wracking but the man who administered my test very clearly articulated my instructions and let me know what to expect. The front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming. Remarkably, I did not wait at all which was a very pleasant surprise! I had an early morning appointment. Additionally, I was pleased with the level of covid safety measures they implemented. Hand sanitizer everywhere, separate places for sanitized/dirty pens, plexiglass screens at the check in desk and in between chairs in the waiting room. Racist staff... I had an appointment at 1:45. I arrived ahead of time at 1:15. A white patient had an appointment at 2:15. They were running behind. The white patient complained about it, and so they took him before me. They told me I would late, because he had to go. I have a full-time job as well. I complained and talked to the manager. He said could not help me. Tell your doctors to refer you to a different radiologist like the ones at NYU Langone. read more

Terrible, terrible experience! First off: they scheduled my appointment at the wrong time. That is to say a different time from the one I scheduled & that was repeated in the automated appointment reminder voicemail they left for me. Secondly: they scheduled my appointment at the wrong place. They switched the location of my appointment without telling me. After the lab where the appointment was scheduled informed me it was at a different location, they told me they would call ahead to the new lab to let them know what happened. As you might've guessed, they didn't. Overheard in the waiting room: they had messed up a bunch of MRIs resulting in the need to You bring all those patients back in & undergo the whole process all over again. That was the explanation for why they were over TWO HOURS delayed in seeing patients at their supposed appointed times. If there were a hell, it would bear a striking resemblance to this. read more

I had a full blown panic attack and felt so claustrophobic he got me through it and literally wiped the tears streaming down my face. Looking back I feel so grateful he was there. Thank you Wayne. Not too happy. Called beforehand to see if I'd need an appointment for an x-ray. Phone rang about 20 times, then when somebody answered, I couldn't even hear / understand what she was saying. I got the gist that an appointment wasn't needed, but I had to come before 3:30 pm. Fine. Went over there when I had a break between 2 meetings. Got there at about 2:50, and was told that the x-ray person is on lunch, and will be back in about 25 mins. OK, so much for getting there before 3:30 then, right? But I decided to wait, knowing I was risking being late to my next meeting. Guy gets back, and they start discussing my x-ray prescription right at the front desk, like we're talking about what kind of sandwich I ordered. It's not a big deal to me, but isn't this stuff supposed to be somewhat confidential and not for the waiting room to hear? They then tell me that apparently what I needed to have x-ray'd is so special, so unusual and fantastic, that they don't even do it there. Are you f'ing serious? It's a bone in my chest - what is so incredible about that? So they call their other office on 23rd St - from the sounds of the phone call, they're telling the girl at the desk in front of me that they also cannot x-ray for this particular bone - but she's telling me they can take me, if I can get there by 3:30! lol. I said no, I was trying to do this between meetings - they then tell me that I should go tomorrow morning - like I've got nothing to do Tuesday mornings. So I can't comment on the actual procedure once you get through the waiting room, but as far as the front desk goes - total disregard for peoples' time. Place is staffed by indifferent kids who either don't know what they're doing or don't care. They did say sorry at the end, but will they do anything differently next time? The techican that is in charge of administrating the MRI is friendly and trys to make you feel comfortable. Unfortunately I couldnt go through with it and requested a open MRI. The front desk was suppose to schedule for open mri . I arrived at 5 Columbus and the woman at the front desk told me that I wasnt scheduled for open mri. My anxiety that was already high shoots through the roof. She was able to reschedule me the same day but the new appt. Was more than a hour away. I have had a number of imaging studies done at Union Square Diagnostic Imaging. Appointments can be made with ease. They have evening hours, which is helpful if one is busy during the day. The people that greet you in the reception area are professional, courteous and friendly, making one feel very comfortable before going in for imaging. There usually isn't a very long wait. The techs are knowledgable and sensitive, and treat you like a human being, not like just another number coming through. Since it is two blocks from my apartment, it is convenient. The results are sent to my Dr. the next day. I don't think one can ask for more than that! read more

Please stay away from this place, they will only cause you trouble. This is a corporate outpost of Lenox Hill Radiology. I had to get an x-ray and an MRI and the corporate folks who checked my insurance days earlier sent me to this location. After I was sent home, I went back to talk to receptionist to check why we didn't do an x-ray. It turns out the people there had not checked the second prescription my doctor gave me and I had turned over to them. Of course, this location doesn't do x-rays, so I had to go to another location. First they refused to call the other location, after I waited for seven minutes on the phone, they finally did. No apologies, nothing. Complete waste of time. read more

I was here for a CAT scan. The front desk was average, both the male and female workers there were aloof. They answered my questions, but most of the time they just gave me blank looks. The technician went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. She was very attentive. Overall, the experience was mediocre. I filled some forms upon arrival, waited about 15 minutes before I was given the contrast liquid, another 45 minutes before the procedure, and the scan took less than 10 minutes. I was in and out in about an hour and 20 minutes. read more

I'm really amazed that I had such a good experience getting my CT scan today. I've been to at least four other facilities and this place was the most professional, personable and timely. I didn't have to wait. And I got my CD straight away too. I would highly recommend this place if you need a scan. Get well soon! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Dangerous construction site; Broken MRI; Incompetent, dishonest staff! Union Square Diagnostic Imaging is unfit for business. The site is under construction and very dangerous. The MRI was down this morning, at 7:30 a.m., and more than hour later, patients were still waiting and not being told the equipment was down. The staff lies about first appointment times and over-scheduling. DO NOT GO HERE! It will cost you hours in your day, your sanity and you will not even be treated as the EQUIPMENT IS BROKEN! I had a great experience at Union Square Diagnostic Imaging today! The facility and staff are great and responsive. I waited no more than 30 minutes between arriving (15 minutes before my appointment) and getting taken back for the procedure. My appointment was early at 8am so I can attest that at that time things run quite smoothly. The receptionists were helpful and efficient and the technician was considerate and transparent. She kept me informed about what was happening, coming next and how much longer the procedure would last. Doctors are certainly not fun, but having a painless and easy experience acts as a great consolation. read more

In July 2017 I went for an MRI. Everything went well, the wait was reasonable, I paid my co-payment. The technician was fine and considerate. However, despite the fact that I have both Medicare and GHI as my secondary, I am still being billed for this. Each time I receive a bill I re-send my information. Save yourself a lot of hassle and find another place. I went to this place 2x and it is extremely poorly run. First time I went for xrays. I waited for 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Then in the xray room, something was wrong with the machine, so after every few xrays, the technicial and I had to wait for the machine to "rest" long enough to start working enough. Then I had to go back for an MRI. I showed up at my scheduled appointment time and the scheduler had put down the wrong time. So, then I had to wait 45 minutes. Finally got in, and did the MRI. When I saw my doctor, she only got results for 1 of the 2 MRIs I needed. When I called to find out, they said the record showed a "data error" for my second prescription. No one said anything to me about this at the time of the MRI or let me or my doctor know afterward. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes as they went back and forth internally to figure out what happened, the person somehow hung up on me. When I called back, it was impossible to reach that person again. I spoke to another person, who didn't know what a data error could be about, and am now waiting for someone to tell me whether or not this MRI was performed. Unbelievable. read more

I had to go to USDI for an MRI of my right hip. First of all: when you call to make the appointment, you get a person, not an automated system. Really nice people, not the usual alienated laborers. Second: they have hours until 9:30 PM, so I could actually get there on a work day. THird: they have lots of openings, you don't wait 2 weeks. Fourth: Nice office! less than 10 minutes wait. Fifth: Friendly staffers and technicians. Six: Fast ship of MRI to my doc. Made me feel like I was a person. Overall, one of the best experiences I've had in a medical office. I have been to USDI for MRI's twice and each time the experience has been a good one. I don't have any issues with claustrophobia so having a closed MRI was ok by me. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The rooms are a bit chilly and they always asked me if I needed a blanket and tucked me in very nicely. They also give you earplugs and headphones to help with the clanging of the machine and a "panic" button in case you need to get out of there quick. I also was seen within 10 minutes and received the CD of my MRIs after waiting a few minutes at the end. Total time was about 40 minutes from start to finish. If I ever have to have another MRI in the future, I would definitely go back to Union Square. Good people and, as MRIs go, a very nice, calm experience. read more

No one really likes to go through extensive testing when we are not feeling well. We all dread this experience, but I had a overall pleasant experience at Union Square Diagnostics. This facility was amazing in every way!!! It is clean, fresh and friendly. The staff was especially friendly...I liked that. I was there to have a CT Scan. It isn't exactly something we typically think of as being fun, and drinking that fluid is disgusting! Somehow the technician made it pleasant...I am still shocked at USDI. Thank you for making the experience a good one! It is truly appreciated. read more
