Denise was really wonderful -- she told me what rate she would get, how her prices would likely compare to my lender, and very quickly threw together a fee sheet. The rate was even better than the initial quote I'd gotten from the lender I'd been working with -- which was already pretty low. She then went to bat for me and locked in the rate she promised -- even though mortgage rates were starting to trend upward. If you're shopping around for a mortgage, give Denise a call. In my experience, she'll work extra hard to earn and keep your business, and she will give you the best rate she can get up front.

She's an encyclopedia of knowledge of housing information in those areas, including prices, past sales, buyer and seller information, schools, mortgage lenders, insurance agents, subcontractors, and everything else needed to do this job properly. She also operates her own historic rental properties and can take the perspective of the buyers and sellers whether they are first time home buyers or significant investors. I don't think she's here to give everyone a warm and fuzzy feeling. She's here to sell your house, or find a house for you as a buyer, or get your home rented. Shes actually very pleasant and professional, But she's personally annoyed me so much in the past that I've considered leaving flaming bags of dog poop on her front porch on several occasions. I've argued with her on several occasions about residential real estate, but have discovered if the argument is about housing prices, or houses on the market in those areas, she's been right. She stands her ground and won't be bullied. If she gives you a value of opinion for your house downtown you should probably listen to her. The last thing I will mention is how effective she is at getting everyone over the finish line. She does a great job of coordinating the buyers, sellers, appraiser, inspectors, lawyers, and everyone else involved. It's a really important part of the process.
