Today, I was on my way home and decided to see what Skips is all about. Skips has been here forever so it's kind of weird that there are not more reviews on Yelp. FYI, the other reviewers are truthful about there being "no refunds". Skips will give you store credit but only for 30 days and the product has to be "unused" or "like new". So, if you buy something make sure it is what you really need/want because most of the items in here can be expensive $$. Skips has a vast variety of western style boots, hats, belts, vests, jackets, clothing and other miscellaneous items. It looks like their best sellers are the boots hats and jeans. I was interested in purchasing a new pair of boots so something that caught my eye were the Wolverines. I currently wear the "Durashocks" for work but they are getting a bit raggedy. Skips does not carry the exact boot or a boot like mine without the steel toe but I know where to get them so no big deal. Then I found the Ariat Sierra's. A few months ago, I was in Gatlinburg Tennessee and tried these boots on and wanted to purchase them but to get them home would have been an ordeal. The Sierra's have been in the back of my mind since then and now, they are here right in front of me. Fortunately, for me they were on sale for $139.95 (Reg $159.95). To add to this deal, Ariat was offering a mail in rebate. Buy $99 get $10 back. Buy $149 get $20 back. Buy $249 get $50 back. I purchased the boots and a pack of Ariat socks for a total of $160.76 (with tax) and will get a $20 back in mail in rebates (Better than Amazon Pricing, Wow!) Something to note for the Gal's: The Ladies section has a decent size selection of western style jeans with rhinestone embellishments (My Wife loves these). Additionally, (for the Ladies) there is a Harley Davidson Boot display with several Hot/Sexy-style knee high lace ups with the big heel (wicked). Tonight, there were 4 to 5 staff members working in the store. Two of them, Ken and Allyssa were personable and very helpful in finding me the right size/type of boots for my needs. Ken was especially helpful in showing me the best possible discount/rebate outcome for my purchase. I would definitely return to this store in the future for another purchase. I am not crazy about the "no returns policy" and I think it would benefit the business model if they would make exceptions with some items but other than that, I had a great experience shopping at Skips.

He was warm and genuine, knowledgeable, helpful, and treated my son and I like we were VIPs but I got the feeling he is the sort of person who gives this level of service to everyone. The line moved quickly and although I had a problem at the register because of a unusual activity protection alert (shopping out of state) on the card I initially used, the employee at the register was patient and pleasant. Teamwork and a positive culture seemed evident in how they celebrated each other with shout outs over the radio when I mentioned the excellent service received. A portion of the sales proceeds benefited the non-profit organization Touched by Type 1 which raises funds to find a cure and inspire those with diabetes to thrive. Besides perusing the London-based fashion house's newest shoes, handbags, accessories and fragrances, I had the opportunity to meet Sarah G, who hosted the event at Jimmy Choo and whose company is organizing Winter Park Fashion Week. I also have to give kudos to a Jimmy Choo employee, Corinne C., who was friendly and accommodating in answering my questions and assisting during my time at their location. I truly enjoyed my time meeting Jimmy Choo staff members along with the models, make-up artists and others who will be attending the many trunk shows and designer promotions prior to the big runway event on Saturday, February 25, 2023. I make an annual trip to visit my parents for the holidays. Since I'm from Chicago I can tell you shopping here is a breeze for a couple reasons. One- the taxes are much lower in Florida, which makes a big difference if you're spending considerable money on clothes. Two- they have a wide array of items that are on sale here, and they also provide clothes for year round purposes vs seasonal displays in the Midwest. You won't find shorts around now in Schaumburg, IL. Finally- the staff here is professional as hell. We got the chance to speak with Mike Beck, the Assistant Manager at this location. Mike is the consummate pro. Not pushy at all, makes some nice suggestions- and is extremely helpful when you need some advice or guidance on what you're looking for. He was able to locate some specific items I needed quickly and make some really great suggestions on sale items that basically allowed me to get way more clothes than I was planning to. I've lost 75 lbs in the past year so I've been wearing clothes that are basically way too big for me. I was stubborn and didn't want to spend a lot of money but the timing was perfect- some Polo items went on sale the day before and Mike pointed out the incredible deal that allowed me to get a $450 retail coat for $87 with tax included. Seriously. If you're coming here- make sure you check in with Mike. I'm usually not one to ask for help but today just happened to be a perfect storm and I'm so thankful I visited the store. In fact- I'm planning on going back later this weekend because there was many items I was "iffy" on but I think I have to get them.
