What always amazes me is of experiences at this religious education building. I'm neither a fan,…read morenor a non-fan of this place. I've been backed into a neutral corner on this one. It may be the only real separately-housed Catholic religious education building around, but it's hard to say that this place only has religious ed classes for children at times when most children aren't attending regular school and during times when most parents still have to work(so transportation for kids is inadequate. Although our family never really had too bad of a time at making transportation to this school within the time frame alloted, many people we know, seem to have a slight problem with making commitments to religious education for their children(if they chose the Catholic lifestyle). What I can officially complain about, is the cost for all the courses that are required by all children seems to escalate, especially in these desperate times. The prices seem to never decrease and taking all makes the grand total nasty on the family of a limited budget. But when people tend to focus their kids into realizing how involved this really is for them to get a good education in religion(being for them to make most of the required sacraments to have them eventually make their marriage vows), makes this place a seemly reasonable option. But religious education classes aren't all that goes on here. They also have holiday masses and some special Catholic events here inside the "gymnasium" along with a CYO basketball game at inconvenient times, and out the back on one day, their anual church picnic (free to Catholic members-working on honor system). The only problem I've found, is that, for most parents(during holiday masses and special Catholic events here) and most older children who are required to attend, the bathroom about halfway down the main hall, seems to have toilets that are way too low for most adults to use. They seem to be suited for the daycare group(http://www.yelp.com/biz/funshine-nursery-school-red-hook) that exists at the one end of the hall.

Where is the psychotherapist the psychiatrist in these groups? A lot of people don't want to expose their inner issues to perfect strangers. Not many want to suffer the pain of childhood problems. Instead of preaching sermons from the Bible they preach excerpts twisted to represent these freedom groups they push. Very different from years ago. The area surrounding campus is rural where housing supply is scarce, unaffordable and inconvenient. Bard is a residential college, however the percentage of its students living on-campus is much lower than other residential colleges. This issue has persisted for years! The administration has failed to address this crisis. I would not recommend enrolling there. The academics might be ok, but there will be no campus life whatsoever. Do not just take my word for it. Google it. Do your research.
