Came here for the first time on Sunday June 30th 2024. We were a group of 3 and arrived probably right around noon. Place was empty - there is a counter with 2 touch screens where you can order yourself otherwise 1 employee seemingly working behind the counter.
We used the touch screens to order, this was a fast and easy experience. We were able to easily browse through the menu and modify toppings or anything else.
This location is pretty new - very beautiful and trendy for a fast food joint. It is a very narrow restaurant but there a few booths to dine in. We sat ourselves and waited for our order to be prepared. This was slow, we waited at least 15 minutes or more for the food to be ready. We each got a burger and a poutine to share. Our orders were not complex but the wait to get the food was long enough that we all noticed it was taking a while, especially since there was no one else before us. If you are used to fast food at other burger joints, make sure you have time to wait and eat the food here.
The burgers are delicious - these are very similar in shape and taste to Shake Shack in the USA. The burgers are small, with a very soft potato bread bun, thin smashed beef patties and traditional lettuce, mayo and sauce toppings. They do have other types of burgers with onions, mushroom, or vegetarian "Impossible" type meat. There is a also a chicken sandwhich. Note that this location serves Halal meat. There are other middle eastern and Halal restaurants right in the area so I think this might be a franchise decision - I don't believe other Uniburgers are Halal.
The poutine I got as a side was fairly small but delicious too - the gravy is a nice thick brown consistency, not too liquidy and extremely flavorful. I like that there are several drink options with your trio, you can have soda of course, otherwise milkshakes, or sparkling Bubbly brand water or juice.
Biggest remark is the size of the burgers - these are significantly smaller than other traditional burgers. If you are hungry, get the Double cheeseburger and make sure you get a full size fry or poutine to curb your appetite. read more
