The atmosphere has a near-perfect mix of old-school and high-end anabolic/clean equipment. If you want to compete and be engulfed entirely in the bodybuilding environment, then 100% spend the $69 to get a membership. They also occasionally freeze adding new members, so as to avoid the gym ever feeling too busy (maintaining the "private gym" experience and community), which is amazing, and something I've never seen before. Cons: The price is $69 ($59 if you commit to 3 months, or $49 if you commit to 6 months) per month, which is quite the sum. There is also no two arm cable machine, save the large cable machine in the middle. This makes some sense, because this is supposed to be very old school bodybuilding-esc, so it's definitely something that I wouldn't necessarily say is a bad thing, but it's important to consider if you can't see yourself working out without that. Overall, if you can get past the price and want perhaps the best gym vibe around, this is absolutely 100% the place you HAVE to go to. The community is amazing so positive as well. I would love to compete one day, but I'm currently not in a position to afford that price, so I won't be going here beyond my three day free pass for the time being. If you can afford it, however, definitely don't miss out on this opportunity. It's something I'm not sure you can find anywhere else.

With just a 12 week prep last year I was able to place in both divisions that I entered under the guidance of Coach Tom. I am currently under the guidance of Coach Ty and I've been able to pack on a lot of quality muscle without excess body fat and improve my stage presence a ton! The environment here is like no other. Everyone is encouraging one another and it's awesome to be around likeminded people working toward something similar such as an upcoming contest. You truly get to see everyone's physique coming together week by week. AZBB also holds posing classes weekly (Saturdays @noon) usually led by Coach Ty or Chris who is one of the best posers I've ever seen on stage. If you're looking to be better and are willing to work (it's been fun but not easy) then look no further!

It's group sessions up to four people maximum (there is one in one training available) 1 hour Tom is perfect for a group of friends to get a great workout in (and from someone who understands aging and weight issues.) Tom will work with you and keeps you remembering importance of posture to keep his trainees healthy and moving. Tom has various workouts and switches it up. Tom also does monthly measurements (if want to know or you skip the measurements if you don't want Tom to know you're not keeping the nutritional plan lol)

I'd like to thank Josiah for being an incredible trainer and for helping me work toward the goals…read moreI've set for myself. As a middle-aged woman in menopause on a GLP-1 journey, progress hasn't always come easily, and honestly, many days feel like a struggle. When I first reached out to him, I wasn't consistent with my meal plan and I hadn't followed a structured gym routine in nearly 20 years. From our very first communication, he was extremely professional, supportive, and clear. The plan he put together for me was detailed, well organized, and easy to follow, which immediately gave me confidence that I was in good hands. Throughout our time working together, he has always been thoughtful about my abilities and careful to keep me at a pace that challenges me while still being healthy and sustainable. Along the way, I've also been getting DEXA scans to track my progress with fat loss and lean mass, just to make sure everything is staying within healthy ranges. In the four months we've been working together, my progress has been amazing: I've lost 25 pounds, 24 of those from fat. My lean muscle has increased by almost 2 pounds, and my visceral fat has gone down by 1.5 pounds. We even made it through the holidays with minimal guilt, which felt like a huge win. I genuinely look forward to our private sessions. I laugh about what he thinks I can do on my own, and I get excited to read his comments about my weekly progress. He motivates me in such a positive, encouraging way and constantly reminds me not to be too hard on myself. He never makes me feel like I'm not doing enough, and that kind of support has made all the difference. I truly cannot recommend him enough, especially if you're nervous about your abilities or unsure where to start.

I do personal strength training 3x a week and HIIT style classes 3-4x a week so I consider myself…read moreto be in pretty good shape - but this morning's TruHIT workout had me questioning that! We were visiting Tempe and wanted to squeeze in a workout so found this place on Yelp. It was super easy to sign up and only $15 for a drop in which I think is on the lower end of most gyms whether it's spin, yoga, or training. The instructor was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable as newbies. Let's be honest no one likes being in an unfamiliar class unsure of where to stand or what to expect alongside a bunch of regulars. The class was tough -- but in a good way. Their leg day was a true leg day, I don't think I've ever done so many squats (in various forms of course). My legs are absolute jello. As with any interval class you really can go at your own pace though it's hard to not feel motivated to push yourself with the trainer walking around encouraging you. I like that they start exactly on time even if the entire class is present just in case there are late stragglers. The space is HUGE - you can fit tons of people in there without it feeling congested or as if you're stepping on someone's toes. It's clean with lots of equipment options so you're not fighting over weights. The playlist was great (though wouldn't mind it louder to drown out the "omg this hurts when is it going to end" thoughts passing through my head haha) They have a smoothie and açaí shop connected to the gym which I wish we could've tried but we're on our way to brunch. If I lived here that would be heaven and so convenient to wrap my workout with a protein shake onsite.

Each trainer is really focused on making sure you get the most from your workout by correcting your form and keeping you motivated during class. They're also always happy to provide you with alternative exercises if you have an injury or simply aren't coordinated enough to do something. I've also noticed that they all really try to remember your face and name- which holds you accountable when you skip a day or two! If you're the kind of person who needs a lot of positive reinforcement, take a class from Aurora, Bobby, or Nick- they'll be your biggest cheerleaders throughout class! If you're looking to improve your form and performance I highly recommend taking a class from Dean on Tues/Weds/Thurs evening- he's not shy about telling you what you could be doing differently to achieve maximum results. Last but definitely not least if you love trainers who are bubbly and energized- Kalyn is your girl! She always makes you feel welcome and keeps you energized. So, SO glad to have found this location of TruHit!

Two weeks after moving I was having dinner with friends and given Nadine's name and number. That is when my relationship with The Fitness Joint began. 10 months later I'm thrilled to say it was the best choice I could have made. I have lost inches, gained confidence, lost body fat percentage, and gained strength. She makes training fun, brutal, but fun. She has a way of encouraging you but also listening to your needs. She talks you through the moves to decide if it's the best one for you. She is always changing things up so boredom isn't an issue. I can not recommend The Fitness Joint enough. And did I mention the new gym space?!? You'll love it! Great environment, great trainer, and great results!

I was always feeling tired, bloated, and weak. For almost 2 months without a job I tried working out on my own. Going on walks with my dog, doing 24 minute HIIT's here and there in my own home, but I wasn't feeling any stronger and wasn't seeing the changes I wanted to see. One day my mom came home from seeing a personal trainer. She told me I would love her and should give it a shot. I had never worked with a personal trainer before. I have been on countless sport teams up until college. I had done workouts with friends. Did a program called BBG my sophomore year of college, but never thought of going to a personal trainer. The first day I went to see Nadine, changed my life for the better. Don't get me wrong, the first day was hell. I could easily see me working out on my own hadn't done much at all after one workout with Nadine. But, I knew I found someone who would push me. So, I kept showing up. I have been seeing Nadine constantly 2-3 times a week for 7 months. I know weight matters to some, so I will share that I have dropped down to 145lbs. I HUGE factor in that is nutrition. Which I am 90% vegan. HOWEVER. I have never felt SO strong. The weight doesn't matter to me. The physical appearance doesn't matter to me. What does matter to me is the feeling of being STRONG. 7 months of hard work. 7 months of her pushing me to places I didn't know I could be pushed, and showing me I'm hella of a lot stronger than I ever thought I was. Nadine wants the best for her clients. If you let her work with you, push you outside your comfort zone, and let her show you how strong you can be, I promise you will not regret seeing this amazing trainer.
