I contacted Jackie due to the excellent reviews on Google. Big mistake…read more I had been unable to book mixed class fares on United, and needed travel agent assistance. I explained to Jackie that I travel a lot, and rarely use a travel agent due to the poor service and lack of detail I have seen in the industry. She assured me she was different. She is not. 1. Discussed dates with her for the trips, including very specific seat requests. Then sent her the flights I wanted with a date correction. The wrong flights/dates were booked as well as the wrong seats. Called her, told her they were wrong, she corrected it. The seats were STILL wrong. Maybe not a huge deal, but I specifically booked the flight I did for that plane and seat! After 30 min on hold with Lufthansa I got my seat which should have been booked correctly in the first place! 2. Jackie told me she could not use my United credit as United said I had to be on all United flights. Wrong - they confirmed all I needed was a single United flight to use the credit. So, she either lied or never bothered to check; I now lost $175 credit due to her lack of attention. 3. Did not get me seat assignments at all in my intra-Europe flights with the excuse "you cannot book them ahead of time in Europe." Wrong again - I contacted the airline via email and in less than an hour had seat assignments. Again, probably did not want to spend an extra 3 minutes to get me seats. Just lazy. 4. Told me I would get the hotel recommendations for Barcelona in a day or two so I could decide which hotel I wanted. After 5 weeks I am still waiting. 5. Told me she would get me the details on day tours for Toledo, Valle de los Caidos/El Escorial with the hotels - again, still waiting. 6. Still waiting for the airport transport details. 7. Still waiting for the flights from Madrid to Barcelona......5 weeks later All in all, typical travel agent lack of follow up. Not sure how she got such great Google reviews as I have not seen anything close to good service. Thankfully I have enough time before my trip to get everything booked she dropped the ball on.
