I recently had a double mastectomy with direct to implants. I needed professional measurements for my new bras. I scheduled an appointment, last week, for a private fitting. Scheduled it online & was able to get my appointment in a week. Hanna was my consultant. I was a little nervous (to be honest), but she picked 3 bras that would work with my situation perfectly. She made me feel very comfortable. I love their lingerie, it's so comfortable. If you've never been in, it's worth the trip. Everyone is nice. Thank you again Hanna for your excellent service & helping me feel comfortable! Pam W. read more

When I asked Grok (my AI buddy) for a place in Louisville that does bra fittings, only two places were found. I chose Underpinnings because it was close to home. I expected a boutique and that's exactly what it is -- small footprint with a variety of beautiful lingerie on display. I had previously made an appointment online for a bra fitting. At the appointed time, I was greeted and offered a glass of prosecco or a water to drink while I waited. I was measured for a bra. (You cannot do this if you're extremely shy, I'm sure.) I felt comfortable and in expert hands with the attendant. The measurement surprised me but explained why most bras I previously purchased were so uncomfortable. After the measurement, the attendant brought bras that she thought I might like. I tried on 10+ bras ranging in price from $75-$120. The styles ranged from sheer and lacy to padded and sports. Most of them were a good fit but not my style. I purchased a basic underwire that was a perfect fit. The reasons this boutique didn't get five stars are as follows: no seating for your wait; not enough conversation about personal preferences; and, no opportunity to browse designs prior to trying them on. Each bra was selected by the attendant. It's a very nice boutique with beautiful lingerie! read more

4 stars. I love a great fitting bra! But boy, it takes a while to find that perfect fit. And the ladies here know this and are patient and attentive. It's pricey. Not more pricey than other speciality shops, though. Those of us who frequent these shops know what to expect but if you are new to this, be prepared! Most bras are $50-$200. And the matching panties aren't far behind that. Panache and Elomi are my favorite brands. Prima Donna is also amazing but I just can't justify paying that for everyday lingerie. Perfect for special occasion lingerie, though. read more

I was introduced to Underpinnings years ago at a Yelp event in 2019. I truthfully hadn't been since then... but today when my underwire popped out of my bra, and I knew I was going to Norton Commons (for another Yelp event), I rushed into Underpinnings. I was greeted by Brooklyn, and while I arrived only 20-25 minutes before closing, I was welcomed with open arms. Brooklyn did a fitting and brought out a handful of options for me while also explaining what one should want out of a good bra. You're paying for quality here, and that comes with top notch service. I expect this bra will last much longer than the one I came in with! I can't say enough great things about Brooklyn either. I am glad to know my true size and am thankful for such a great experience! read more

Underpinnings Lingerie - The front of the shop - Lingerie Near Me - Prospect, Kentucky

Underpinnings Lingerie has been a staple in our household for the past 6 years! The BEST bras (who knew there are HUNDREDS of sizes?!), the BEST selection and the BEST/KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF...speaking of staff...I pulled to park my vehicle today at 6:01, not realizing the boutique closed at 6:00. I saw Kirsten closing up and walking away next to me. But as soon as she saw me, she greeted me with a bubbly smile and invited me in to purchase my special order bra. I hated to inconvenience her and wanted to respect the hours of operation; but Kirsten happily welcomed me! She unlocked the door and had me rung up in minutes. This is ONE of SEVERAL times that the team at Underpinnings has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND and I'm so grateful to them all! Hands down best place for undergarments, pj's and so much more! Kindness matters and Underpinnings has perfected "excellent customer service"! Thank you again! read more

What a difference a well fitting bra makes. The folks at this shop make you feel comfortable and pretty. Their selection is amazing. I've never been handed so many types of bras and in as many colors before. I love this shop. read more

The owner and her staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. I felt completely comfortable during my fitting, and I will definitely be back with my daughters. Also, they offer private parties and they are AMAZING! I took my best friend and our gang and had a very lovely shower for her wedding. I highly recommend it for a girls night out! read more

I had an absolutely stellar experience here. Kierstin, Hannah, Stacia and I think Stephanie were all so lovely. I had a wonderful fitting, and the selection is amazing. If you're plus size and want GROWN ASS WOMAN lingerie that fits and feels good as well as a great experience with a local, family and woman owned business, do yourself a favor and head here. I will be back! read more

Just had a fitting here and really appreciated the help I received. I'm always flustered when trying on a bunch of clothes, but they were very patient and gave me plenty of feedback on what I should look out and what shows a good fit. I really liked the amount of different styles they carried so I could pick up a couple to fit my different days. I will definitely be back :D read more

This place is amazing! I walked in to have a fitting and the experience was great. The stylist, Hannah, measured me and picked several bras for me to try on. She listened to my preferences and all of the options were great. My bra size is hard to find in regular stores so I was amazed by the options. There were several bralette options as well. The bralettes are supportive too! The most amazing thing was the Bra30. It's this magical tank top/bralette that provides support without extra padding. I don't know how it does it but it's magic. Go try it on!!!!! read more

Underpinnings is located in the heart of Norton Commons. They carry bras in sizes 28A to 54N, so there is truly something for everyone. Bra fitting is typically a delicate and uncomfortable experience. However, at Underpinnings I was instantly at ease because the staff were so warm, attentive, respectful, discreet, and professional. My fitter was so patient and determined to find a bra that fit me and was comfortable (not an easy task!). I am certain that she got her 10K steps that day and that most were obtained running back and forth bringing countless bras for me to try!! We ultimately found just the right bra that had me feeling uplifted (sorry, couldn't help myself) and confident, and I left a happy lady! The store has beautiful merchandise that is tastefully displayed. In addition to bras there are panties, sleepwear, lounge wear, candles, perfumes, and more. Parking is along the street (Norton Common Blvd) and can be difficult depending on the time of day and what might be going on in the neighborhood. However, the neighborhood is so pretty that a short walk is not a bother and the staff and merchandise are certainly worth it! read more

What a wonderful quaint shop, I felt like I was in Paris. The shop has a lot of choices, but it is not overwhelming. It can be uncomfortable to get a proper fitting but I did not feel embarrassed or awkward. Finally a fit that makes me look great in a Tshirt although they did not have my size it is being ordered from Belgium, I can't wait. Terrific 5 star customer service. read more

I am always terrified to go get a bra fitting and have never had them work for me in the past, so I had low expectations coming into Underpinnings, but they BLEW ME AWAY! I felt SO comfortable the entire time. The staff there made me feel like I was just at a friend's house. As most of us do...I was wearing the wrong size bra for the last....countless years.... and have just had my overall sense of comfort and confidence go up dramatically. HIGHLY recommend coming here, they have all sizes, like literally more sizes than I've seen anywhere else, and you can't beat the customer service. Thank you to the staff I really appreciate it. read more

Had an amazing experience at Underpinnings this afternoon! I came in with a sad sad fitting old bra and left with a new bra size and a ton of beautiful bras and confidence! Elizabeth, the bra fitter, grabbed me a glass of Prosecco while I shopped around and looked at all the robes, lingerie, and underwear out on display. The bras are in the back because they have over 150 sizes of bras! They have some of the biggest European brands that you can't in town like Panache, CosaBella, and Simone Perele and companies that focus on small chests and others that only have sizes starting at brand and cup sizes you can't get usually in person. While I sipped on my Prosecco, Elizabeth asked me a ton of questions to get a sense of what I liked and was looking for and then we headed to the fitting room where she did the fitting. I always find it super awkward having a fitting or the employees see my ladies but Elizabeth was so professional and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. The Prosecco didn't hurt either. Unsurprisingly I learned I was wearing two cup sizes too small and too big of a band. She showed me how my current bra was fitting improperly and told me what to look for in a good fit. She grabbed 5-6 bras to start and test how the bras fit and was willing to take the time to show me on each one what made the bra fit well so I feel like I can apply that knowledge in the future too! She got my size correct on the first try and I have never ever worn a bra that fit better!! And the quality and detailing on each and every bra was so luxurious. Once we had my size and knew the brands I liked best, she grabbed some more she thought I would like and a few wild cards. I almost turned away the wild cards, but definitely glad I trusted her because I bought both she showed me! The prices are not outrageous either. They've got some high high end stuff I didnt even touch, but for the most part the prices range between $50-$90 for all their bras which is comparable to the ill fitting bras I've bought at VS. Between the great customer service, quality fitting, and the amazing product I will for sure be back! read more

I have ordered items from Underpinnings multiple times and have been happy with the products as well as the excellent service. When I was looking for a couple of holiday presents Stacia helped me select some items within my price range and packaged them beautifully. We ended up going with a few different types of candles and they were great presents! During the covid restrictions, Kirsten helped me select a couple of items through multiple phone calls. She helped me understand size and fit and how to do my own measurements. I was happy with the items she helped me pick. They will work with you to find the correct size and item for you. Kirsten was professional and patient with answering my questions. The staff is very knowledgeable and does their best to make customers feel comfortable. read more

I'm fairly modest & I felt so comfortable here. I felt like my concerns were 100% listened to & addressed. I was given many options & educated on everything bra related. I hadn't gotten a new bra or even sizes in 3 years! I had lost baby weight, had another pregnancy, breastfed & lost baby weight again, so it was time! I could go on & on but I'll just leave it at: I can't wait to go back!! read more

What an amazing experience!! Seriously I am SO glad I made the trip to go to Underpinnings! Elizabeth is fantastic! She makes you feel comfortable and listened to the whole time. I never felt rushed or pressured which is huge coming from department store lingerie sections where they make you feel like just a number and not a valued customer! I made a specific trip here while I was in Louisville on business from San Diego and while SD has many bra and lingerie boutiques none of them have offered this type of personalized service, thoughtfulness and experience! Highly recommend and I can't wait to come back to shop some more! read more

i found this place from tiktok, and the woman working made me feel extremely comfortable. In all of my 68 years, I don't think I've ever had a bra that fits! And now I do! My bra fitting was conducted professionally, and I was comfortable the entire time. Thank you, Elizabeth. I appreciate your expert knowledge so much! read more

This is something Louisville needed. I am so happy I found this place! Like many women, I have a unique bra size and struggle to find well fitting bras at traditional places. A quick good search gave me this shop and I am glad it did! Started off my morning with a mimosa and trying on bras, which was so nice. The place is beautiful and the associate I worked with was so accomidating and professional that I didn't feel uncomfortable at all! Do yourself a favor and make an appointment read more

Wonderful, highly responsive service! The online store is well-curated and has plenty of variety. I placed an order online on a Friday afternoon and found it in my mailbox first thing Monday morning. The items were well-packaged, the parcel included a hand-written note from the owner, and she even threw in a bar of soap as an extra treat! It really seems like Underpinnings has adapted well to our current reality of social distancing--they continue to provide high-quality, attentive service while still protecting their customers and staff. Can't wait to visit the store in-person in the future! read more

I was doing everything wrong before visiting this store! Everyone is so helpful and kind. It was a one of a kind experience and so grateful.

I cannot day enough kind things about the staff at Underpinnings! Not all boobs are created equally, and it stands to reason that neither are all bras. Unfortunately, most places aren't like Underpinnings. Not only did they help me find the most AMAZING fitting bra, but the staff made me feel exponentially less awkward in finding the perfect fit! Cannot wait to come back and treat myself to some more bras and other goodies (those robes were so soft, next time!) read more

Underpinnings is such a fabulous shop...Stacia fitted me and my daughters (16 and 11 y/o) and it was by far our BEST experience! We really appreciated the care, professionalism and wisdom that we were shown. This was our first REAL/ACCURATE bra fitting and I'll never shop anywhere else for bras! I also love the huge selection, colors and patterns that Underpinnings offers. Thank you Underpinnings!! read more

I had a great experience shopping at Underpinnings. I have had bra fittings before but always at a chain store with limited sizes. I learned a lot about what makes a bra fit well. And this is the first time I have had a bra with a really great fit. They have a huge stock and listen to what you like and bring out styles that fit with your criteria. I purchased a sports bra and a regular bra. They are now my favorite bras and I have purchased two more. I am much more comfortable during COVID in a small store and they do a great job with cleaning and making me feel comfortable. Anyone who wants a great fitting bra, needs to go here! They also have lingerie items and some things for men too. read more

From my mom since she's never heard of Yelp but is obsessed with Underpinnings - "What an elegant and nourishing shop! Lovely selection and attentive, knowledgeable service. I had given up wearing bras at all because they were so uncomfortable. Apparently this was a fitting issue because after a very professional and discrete bra-fitting at Underpinnings, I left with a bra that did not hurt and was beautiful to boot. I walked into Underpinnings feeling vaguely slovenly and walked out in my new bra feeling curvaceous and confident. Not many shopping experiences can change your confidence level. Go there!" read more
