My favorite thing so far is the Philly chicken sandwich (think like Philly cheesesteak but with chicken instead). It's wonderful. I've found the service to be good as well. It doesn't take too long to get food, and the employees have always been helpful. They also were willing to load my sandwich down with a ton of toppings when asked. There are plenty of good sandwich places in Galesburg, but even in a relatively crowded market Lenny's stands out as one of the great ones.

I was disappointed that you can't order anything but sandwiches at lunch, I really wanted the burnt ends! I would have also liked to have the possibility of sliced brisket, rather than shredded. One last thing, it would be nice if there was a smoked sausage available. So, overall not a bad meal, but hopefully there will be improvements to the service time (and probably more staff) so that the current staff doesn't have to be so frazzled. Give it a try for yourself!

Coney dogs are something I discovered my love for since I started traveling in 2012. A nice hot dog in a bun with meat, onions and mustard. Hot dogs are like burgers and pizza. Almost endless customization. Coney Island has a menu to prove it. I ordered a Jalapeno Cheese and a BBQ dog. $2.50 a piece. Super cheap in my books! The Jalapeno Cheese was super good, but the BBQ dog was amazing! This place gets a 5/5 in my book. A real local family restaurant with the feel of a Wisconsin supper club. We didn't have any brandy old fashioned's but our cocktails were served in mason jars. We had the combo appetizer which includes your choice of three of the various options (mostly fried). We had the mozz logs (mozzarella sticks), bullets (jalapeño poppers) and clams. The clams were by far the star of these options. The house salads were basic but served on chilled plates with homemade dressings that you don't see much of anymore and they were perfect. We ordered chicken alfredo, raviolis with meat sauce and the walleye. Chicken alfredo was not your cookie cutter dish found anywhere, it was generous on chicken and plenty of flavor other than the sauce. The walleye was two nice size pieces that were thicker and more like mass produced cod filets. I'm more of a fan of the thinner filets that curl up when they're fried but the flavor and batter were perfect. The star of the entrees was the ravioli with meat sauce. I'm sure this is how Nonne Scapecchi built her following when they opened over 25 years ago (We think she's the one who greeted us and showed us to our table). Be sure to save room for one of their homemade desserts too. We shared their butterfinger cake and it was delicious. Our server, Tina, was very friendly and accurate with her advice about our menu questions. Bring your cash or use their ATM in the bar for $3 despite what Yelp says on this listing they're cash only. No need for reservations unless you're a party of six or more. We'd recommend this place too if you're looking for something off the beaten path and local with homemade items throughout the menu. We'll definitely be back!
