Rude therapist and rude owner. I wanted to enjoy this place so I could support a local business. But because I didn't know to tell them when booking that I didn't want one area massaged, she stopped until the other therapist finished that area on my friend. Apparently when you have 2 people getting a massage in the same room, the two therapists have to work in "tandem" (per my therapist). Why, I don't know. Then the owner told me after that I should've know to tell her my request when booking because full body massage means that you have to include every part of the body and that this direction is "all over their website." I wish I could give Under the Elder Tree 10 Stars!!! I threw my sister's Bachelorette Party in the Salt Room... It was absolutely a dream come true! Carrie and her team very generously opened the spa area early for us to host a Saturday morning bridal event. The Bride and the rest of us girls started the day enjoying apple cider mimosas and listening to the soothing sounds of singing bowls in a magical space that reminds me of a rooftop garden you would find at night traveling through Indochina or Tibet; no words can do justice to the calming sense that is inherently part of this space. It is indescribably beautiful upstairs. I cannot believe that this is hidden away in Wheeling West Virginia. It feels like a luxury spa in Manhattan or LA. **BUT unlike LA or NYC, Everything was very reasonably priced, I can't believe how much personal attention we got from the entire team** While we were enjoying the healing effects of the Salt Spa, we were called into a beautiful victorian style parlor for individually tailored massages (and a special massage for the bride :)). It was perfect, the massages were out of this world. Carrie is very good at finding the parts that are the most tense and working through them. I live out off state, but I can't wait to come back and get another massage here! After our reserved time had ended, Carrie let us know there was some free time between us and her next client and that we could continue to stay in the space for a bit longer... :) we used that time to play a guided meditation program and deeply center ourselves. Super charming store in Centre Market. Was very excited to see they had so many unique crystals and healing balms etc. I grew up in wheeling but don't live here now, so I was pleased to find such a store. The store itself is charming, unique and quirky - which I loved! However, the people working there... not so much! The woman at the counter was rude, not helpful at ALL and had a major attitude! I felt like I was being judged. I was shocked to find this- as I usually have pride in my hometown for having some of the most friendly and helpful people around. I left feeling like I needed to sage myself from the negative energy that exuded from the shopkeeper (a young woman in her 30s perhaps). Sad. read more
