Our high end contractor in Chestnut Hill hired a gutter installer that did a terrible job after talking with Jorge and never secured our expensive copper gutters to our home. Jorge took photos, explained the problems, replaced a section of our damaged gutter, and secured the ENTIRE house gutters for a fraction of the cost. He also ended up cleaning out the gutters and installed a gutter screen as well. I never take the time to write reviews given how busy I am, but when someone does a stupendous job, I have to take the time to do so. Victory Plus replaced four double-hung vinyl windows at a rental property for me. While his work…read morewas OK the experience as a whole left a lot to be desired. First of all the project was months behind schedule. Victor said he was sick for over a month when he was supposed to install so that put us behind to begin with. People get sick so this is excusable, but that wasn't the end of it. When the scheduled (delayed) install date came up I got a call the day before where he informed me the windows hadn't been ordered at all. Apparently a quote was generated but the order wasn't placed. This resulted in a further 4-5 week delay. Had Victor actually checked for an order confirmation this second delay wouldn't have happened. On the day of the install Victor told me he would show up by 9am to start. He didn't show up till 11am. On day 2 of the install he again said he would be there by 9am but didn't show till 10am. Not much respect for my time as I had scheduled open slots in between meetings to get him started on the job. The next issue was with the charge to get rid of the old windows. He had included this in the original quote but said that the dump had increased the minimum charge a lot so he wanted me to share the cost. I declined to do this and he got very rude about it with me. I didn't appreciate that one bit, given that the increased cost of the dump could have happened during the long delay and so I wasn't responsible for it. Finally the job included paint and trim repair. He did do this but not that well as he was rushing to get to something else. Had he showed up on time he wouldn't have had to rush but somehow me insisting that I would pay the balance once the job was completed made me an a-hole. He got very pissed off at me and yelled at me that "I knew you were this type of guy when you refused to pay for the increased dump fee." Overall his work was OK but the rest of the experience was lousy. Would not use this contractor again.

The companies I called were pretty close on their pricing. We chose Mass Gutters (Mark Richardson) because we liked dealing with a small business instead of a multi-layer corporation. Mark's employees were professional, courteous and enjoyable to have around our home. As with all construction jobs, there were unforeseen conditions that increased the initial cost of the project. The added cost was reasonable. The job was done on time. Shortly after the job completion there was a rainstorm and we had leaks coming from a skylight. Mark came down immediately and covered the skylight with a tarp to prevent any further damage. He felt that the damage was the fault of his employees and installed another skylight free of charge. We would definitely hire them again.
