We got the banana split and brownie sundae. The workers were accommodating and allowed us to choose any flavor of their ice cream to go in the sundaes. We got cookie dough, Mackinac fudge, and chocolate almond. All were delicious, especially the chunks of Mackinac fudge. They even let us customize what sauce/toppings we wanted. I don't know how it took me so long to discover this place! I love that they make their own ice cream and that they partner with local businesses such as Crust for the homemade ice cream sandwiches. Another local fav. I tried the vanilla soft serve which was delicious It reminded me of frozen custard in the consistency. There's plenty of choices to choose from almost too many. My brain went bonkers. I also tried the flavor of the month which was key thyme cheesecake which was phenomenal. It was super tart waffle cone was homemade and there were large chunks of cheesecake in it. Fabulous! My son got the Oreo shake which he loved. There's plenty of outdoor parking and seating with a mini golf course right next door. It looks like there might be an inside although it was closed the day I was there. Also there was a drive-thru but it was closed. The service was super fast and very friendly and the prices were on point. It's about 20 minutes one way from my house and I've since made the trip multiple times. The ice cream truly is delicious. This place is quite big for an ice cream shop. They have a walk up window, indoor area as well as a drive-through available. The inside dining area is not open right now for ordering. It's only the walk up window and the drive-through available now. They have one window for ordering and another for pick up at the walk up window. This place has been here for 42-43 years, are used to be at Halo Burger in the back part, but that's gone. The turbo baby blast looks pretty with Oreos and Reese's. I got a turbo baby blast with Oreos, Heath, Reese's and snickers too, because more the merrier, right? You can get your blast with either vanilla, chocolate or a twist of both. I defaulted to the vanilla. It would probably be even sweeter with the chocolate ice cream. Each candy is an extra $0.50 after the first included candy. The staff here are all really friendly and pleasant to work with. Jeremy is the friendliest, such a warm soul. They have a nice little queue set up for the counter, it feels like you're at a fun theme park. They also have a mini golf place next door. Turbo baby blasts are so cute, it really was a perfect amount of ice cream and candy too. Nice dessert after some spicy Korean food. I like the solo containers, with the top. It allows them to fill it up and makes it easy to eat out of it too. I can see how this place would get excessively busy in the summer and warmer weather. This word has been used a lot, but I can think of none better AWESOME!!! That describes Dave, the owner, the ice cream, the putt-putt golf and the business in general. The thing that really sets it off in my estimation is that every year on Flag Day Dave will offer free ice cream and golf to any child that can recite The Pledge of Allegiance to our great flag. The Fenton High School band helps out by showing up to play some patriotic music, and members of the Fenton VFW Post and their Honor Guard are there to assist Dave in this selfless celebration of the day. read more

They are open year round and have so many choices. The staff is so nice and helpful. They have big portions so we split them. During the summer the putt putt golf is a fun thing to do and isn't too expensive. We come here several times a year and always enjoy it. My daughter got the peanut butter yogurt hot fudge cream puff, and I got the cappuccino crunch ice cream with peanut butter sauce. We are obviously very nutty people! Besides our orders for the day, I highly recommend the spaghetti and meatball ice cream or one of the amazing sundaes. There are many types of ice creams to choose from, hard scooped, soft serve, and customized yogurts from fruit or their secret flavor of the day. Ray's has plenty of outdoor seating as well as a nice indoor air conditioned section. But the most unique aspect about Ray's is their adorable mini golf course. It's a super fun activity to do before or after a treat. At several of the holes, if you score a hole in one you get a prize like a free game or free ice cream. This place is totally delightful! It makes me wish I lived in Fenton. My dad had the cherry shake which he's touted as even better than Don's of Traverse City during cherry week. That's high praise I do believe. My little boy and I shared a double scoop of Ray's strawberry. The chunks of actual strawberries that were laced throughout the ice cream were unexpected and the ice cream itself was the "good stuff" that they used to sell everywhere when we were kids...creamy, smooth, rich and tasted completely non-artificial. My daughter and I are visiting the area from out of town and stopped at Uncle Ray's based on the Yelp reviews. We were iffy on ice cream but after seeing the throng of people outside we decided there must be something special about it. I met Dave (the owner) as he was drying off the benches outdoors after it rained. He seemed to know everyone there! He noticed my University of Illinois hat and we started talking college football. When I went to get my daughter out of the car Dave invited us inside where he told us about their product and history and served us personally.
