Delicious ice cream! My cousin got ice cream here and met Dave, the owner. Dave gave him 2 free treat gift cards! We were allowed to get any treat of any size. We got the banana split and brownie sundae. The workers were accommodating and allowed us to choose any flavor of their ice cream to go in the sundaes. We got cookie dough, Mackinac fudge, and chocolate almond. All were delicious, especially the chunks of Mackinac fudge. They even let us customize what sauce/toppings we wanted. Although the ice cream here can be pricey and the store is busy, we loved the ice cream and the customization! read more

Uncle Ray's Dairyland - Brownie sundae and banana split - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Fenton, Michigan

Uncle rays is the best!!! The workers are awesome and the ice cream is the best in mid michigan! They have so many flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt, different types of sundaes and custom frozen treats! I would recommend a Smurf (blue raspberry) Big Chill if you're looking for something refreshing, a Turbo Blast if you like Culver's concrete mixers (Uncle Rays soft serve is the BEST, you will not be disappointed even if you're not usually a fan of soft serve), or frozen yogurt for a fruity and fresh summer treat! There's seating outside and inside (with AC), definitely take a look inside if you get a chance because the wall is COVERED in photos of customers with Dave (the owner) and it always warms my heart to see! They also have ice cream cakes inside which are yummy and you can custom order one and pick it up later:) The mini golf is kinda a rip off now, $9 and the course is very outdated. The prizes are good and are a free ice cream or free stuff to other places local to Fenton which isn't ideal for travelers. read more

Uncle Ray's Dairyland - Pina colada frozen yogurt (pineapple-coconut) with hot fudge. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Fenton, Michigan

We love Uncle Ray's! The ice creams are delicious and the shakes are even better. Service is always good and friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised to find several non-dairy options available. The young woman helping us patiently explained the options and waited while I decided what I wanted. I am not used to having to make up my mind on flavor options! Usually I have one option and my only decision is which size to order so when I got to pick a flavor of almond based yogurt and then some toppings, my mind went blank. . Thankfully the attendant and my hubby got me on track and I ordered a chocolate almond based soft serve yogurt with peanut butter and Oreo crumbles. I know my husband ordered something and I assume he liked it - I never asked cuz I was too busy enjoying my treat. read more

I never had a Ice Cream Cake like this before, my cousin got it for me and my mother's birthday and we also had other people's mixed in there as well so he just said let's celebrate everybody with this delightful cake. it was a chocolate dream in side with fudge and when I say fudge I mean thick fudge No other Ice Cream Cake will compare just thinking about it now mouth is watering read more

Absolutely my favorite place for ice cream! We drive to this town versus staying in our own! The owner and workers are so kind and I love that they have a dairy free soft serve option that is not a sorbet...we always say "wow, we love this place". read more

couldn't speak more highly of Uncle Ray's! Between Dave's endless smiles and constant presence, you truly feel like family the moment you walk in. Amazing flavors of ice cream- especially the holiday assortments. The service is beyond amazing. Uncle Ray feels like he is your uncle. I love this place. read more

Prices are ridiculous for the product. I went for the nostalgia but choked when I paid $4 and change for a small soft serve. It's not even custard which is far superior. read more

Delicious homemade ice cream, and lots of choices of sundaes, soft serve, frozen yogurt, malts, shakes, etc. I just enjoyed a scoop of black cherry ice cream. Tasty, but pricey. Owner Dave was out greeting people, very friendly and outgoing. We had folks from Ohio and St. Louis, and Dave was familiar with the ice cream places in our respective home towns. Also a nice little 18-hole putt-putt golf course next to the parking lot. Lady at the golf course said you could win up to $50 in prizes. read more

I don't know how it took me so long to discover this place! I love that they make their own ice cream and that they partner with local businesses such as Crust for the homemade ice cream sandwiches. Another local fav. I tried the vanilla soft serve which was delicious It reminded me of frozen custard in the consistency. There's plenty of choices to choose from almost too many. My brain went bonkers. I also tried the flavor of the month which was key thyme cheesecake which was phenomenal. It was super tart waffle cone was homemade and there were large chunks of cheesecake in it. Fabulous! My son got the Oreo shake which he loved. There's plenty of outdoor parking and seating with a mini golf course right next door. It looks like there might be an inside although it was closed the day I was there. Also there was a drive-thru but it was closed. The service was super fast and very friendly and the prices were on point. It's about 20 minutes one way from my house and I've since made the trip multiple times. The ice cream truly is delicious. Also in the outdoor seating area there is a television so you can spend some time and just chill. read more

Uncle Ray's Dairyland - A Fabulous Chunky Shake from Uncle Rays - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Fenton, Michigan

This place is quite big for an ice cream shop. They have a walk up window, indoor area as well as a drive-through available. The inside dining area is not open right now for ordering. It's only the walk up window and the drive-through available now. They have one window for ordering and another for pick up at the walk up window. This place has been here for 42-43 years, are used to be at Halo Burger in the back part, but that's gone. The turbo baby blast looks pretty with Oreos and Reese's. I got a turbo baby blast with Oreos, Heath, Reese's and snickers too, because more the merrier, right? You can get your blast with either vanilla, chocolate or a twist of both. I defaulted to the vanilla. It would probably be even sweeter with the chocolate ice cream. Each candy is an extra $0.50 after the first included candy. The staff here are all really friendly and pleasant to work with. Jeremy is the friendliest, such a warm soul. They have a nice little queue set up for the counter, it feels like you're at a fun theme park. They also have a mini golf place next door. Turbo baby blasts are so cute, it really was a perfect amount of ice cream and candy too. Nice dessert after some spicy Korean food. I like the solo containers, with the top. It allows them to fill it up and makes it easy to eat out of it too. I can see how this place would get excessively busy in the summer and warmer weather. That must be why they have the guidelines for the queues. The drive-through line was starting to get long as we left. read more

Great ice cream cake and not one bad item on the menu. Every item is so fresh and the staff is super friendly

This word has been used a lot, but I can think of none better AWESOME!!! That describes Dave, the owner, the ice cream, the putt-putt golf and the business in general. The thing that really sets it off in my estimation is that every year on Flag Day Dave will offer free ice cream and golf to any child that can recite The Pledge of Allegiance to our great flag. The Fenton High School band helps out by showing up to play some patriotic music, and members of the Fenton VFW Post and their Honor Guard are there to assist Dave in this selfless celebration of the day. read more

Great prices huge proportions and so yummy. Always has a service with a smile. Lines can be long both standing and drive thru but it's so worth the wait. You will not regret visiting this Ice cream location! read more

They are open year round and have so many choices. The staff is so nice and helpful. They have big portions so we split them. During the summer the putt putt golf is a fun thing to do and isn't too expensive. We come here several times a year and always enjoy it. I know some think their prices are high but once you see the large portions and split it with someone else it onset bad at all. read more

You just can't go wrong coming to Uncle Ray's. We've been going for 20+ years and it's better every year. Quality, atmosphere, portions, it's the best place for ice cream treats. read more

Uncle Ray's is an amazing treat worthy of a road trip. I love coming here. There is no wrong order, literally everything is good! The staff is really friendly and helpful. The food is extremely customizable which is my favorite....lots of options to play around with. This could make ordering difficult because you'll want everything. Today my husband got the peanut butter yogurt cappuccino shake with peanut butter sauce. My daughter got the peanut butter yogurt hot fudge cream puff, and I got the cappuccino crunch ice cream with peanut butter sauce. We are obviously very nutty people! Besides our orders for the day, I highly recommend the spaghetti and meatball ice cream or one of the amazing sundaes. There are many types of ice creams to choose from, hard scooped, soft serve, and customized yogurts from fruit or their secret flavor of the day. Ray's has plenty of outdoor seating as well as a nice indoor air conditioned section. But the most unique aspect about Ray's is their adorable mini golf course. It's a super fun activity to do before or after a treat. At several of the holes, if you score a hole in one you get a prize like a free game or free ice cream. We try to play here at least once a year. Ray's sells crave-worthy goodies and is a fun place to hang out for a couple of hours for mini sport and more. read more

Food was great everyone there was very once & they did not mess up my ice cream order. The noise was fine.I would recommend.

The ice cream is always the best around! Service is friendly and fun! Perfect summer vibes!!!

Best ice cream ever!! A little expensive for what it is, but it's an old school ice cream place and it's really great

This place is totally delightful! It makes me wish I lived in Fenton. My dad had the cherry shake which he's touted as even better than Don's of Traverse City during cherry week. That's high praise I do believe. My little boy and I shared a double scoop of Ray's strawberry. The chunks of actual strawberries that were laced throughout the ice cream were unexpected and the ice cream itself was the "good stuff" that they used to sell everywhere when we were kids...creamy, smooth, rich and tasted completely non-artificial. Needless to say the little monster gobbled it down and was hesitant to share : ) read more

A very good place, excellent employee's and boss. Things are pricey here but it is really good food.

Best ice cream in Genesee County. I love their black cherry and chocolate almond, butter pecan are outstanding

CRAZY high prices!!!!! Taking advantage of the fake "Covid emergency" to Jack his prices up just isn't cool!

Whenever I am back home I have to make a trip to uncle rays for ice cream. There's none better!

Amazing ice cream; similar to Culver's but doesn't melt as easily and tastes better, as it's creamer than Culver's ice cream. The owner is wonderful and I've never had an unpleasant experience with the staff. Always quick with getting the ice cream made and to your car. They also have one person like always running the register so they can take payment right away and then other workers are making the ice cream so it all runs smoother. read more

My daughter and I are visiting the area from out of town and stopped at Uncle Ray's based on the Yelp reviews. We were iffy on ice cream but after seeing the throng of people outside we decided there must be something special about it. I met Dave (the owner) as he was drying off the benches outdoors after it rained. He seemed to know everyone there! He noticed my University of Illinois hat and we started talking college football. When I went to get my daughter out of the car Dave invited us inside where he told us about their product and history and served us personally. The ice cream was delicious but Dave's personality, enthusiasm and genuine passion for his product and his business made the experience truly special. Dave sets a high bar for every small business owner. If you're local I'm sure I'm not saying anything you don't know for yourself. If you're from out of town, definitely make this a stop while you're here! read more

There is a reason this place has 5 out 5 stars here on yelp! They make their own hand packed ice cream, soft serve and frozen yogurt. I had the hand packed ice cream, supercreamy and good.
