Kermet Apio, Nancy Reed, Auggie Smith and Dwight Slade were the comics of the night and they were all funny as ish. There were drinks in the lobby and (you're gonna love this) they were letting us bring them in the auditorium. I have been to this place for performances before and not once was even water allowed. The tickets were $25 general admission and $55 VIP. The extra $30 got you entrance to the VIP party from 6-7:30 before the show, where you could meet the comics, have some dinner, and get two free drink tickets. There was also preferred seating for the VIP in the first few rows. To be completely honest I think next year I will go for the regular ticket as the VIP experience seemed "meh". I guess if you're for pre-funking with friends it's a good thing...but we arrived a bit late, food was just about gone and the line for drinks was so long that I would have rather had the $30 to spend downstairs at the GA bar. In the end it was a riot and I can't wait for next year.

I was a bit early to the show, and got a great center seat without being right up front. As it was a student showcase, odds were I wasn't going to get zeroed in on as a solo guest, but didn't hurt to be out of the "splash zone" just in case! ;) The club had clearly been around a while, but nothing wrong with a vintage vibe if the entertainment is good! The staff were super friendly and exceptionally attentive before and throughout the show. As for the performers, they were a diverse bunch of up and coming comedy folks as well as their instructor/professional comedian doing their thing--was fun to watch, and there were plenty of laughs! The next time I'm in town, I'd happily catch an act here! Thanks for a good time!

Thelma's Lounge has such a great atmosphere. The space is stylish, comfortable, and feels like the perfect spot to unwind whether you're catching a show or just meeting friends for drinks. The wings were crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, while the onion rings were fresh, crunchy, and impossible to stop eating. The drinks were refreshing, and the happy hour pricing made everything feel like a great value. What I love is that this isn't just a place to visit before a comedy show. The food, drinks, and atmosphere make it a destination on its own. I'll definitely be back for another happy hour soon.

I was a bit nervous with some of the recent negative reviews but I'm happy to say that I didn't have a bad experience at the Tacoma Comedy Club at all! When we entered, we were greeted by staff who explained how everything worked which I appreciated as they do mention the same information online but it is a good refresher. We were also given a card with our seat numbers on it which was interesting as I thought it was a first come first serve situation. They were doing happy hour when we arrived and we decided to get their 2 for $15 appetizers which we got the boneless wings with lemon pepper and pretzel bites with cheese. Happy hour orders do not count for their two item minimum, but we're fine with that as we arrived pretty early as we were pretty hungry. The food didn't take too long to arrive and it was delicious. I'm not really into boneless chicken as I just have had some bad ones but the ones here are tender and juicy and the lemon pepper rub was great! I'm sad that the veggies don't come with the happy hour order and I also was told that they don't come with veggies by the cashier, which was odd. The pretzel bites were also really good and the cheese dip that came with it was fantastic! As others arrived an employee asked us for the card and escorted us to our table, however as he was explaining the rules it was extremely hard to hear him due to the music. I do think they should turn it down a little or speak up as I didn't catch a single thing he said. I did have one issue as both the people we were seated with and the people in front of us were talking a lot and we didn't know how to let someone know as they were talking every so often during the show. But I didn't know how to report that, especially if they are sitting right behind us. Anyways, for our two item minimum I got the Cinderella and lemonade while my boyfriend got the lavender lemonade spritz and the dessert pretzels. The drinks were made to perfection and the flavors all shined through. The dessert pretzels were pretty good too! I also love that at the end, you can meet with the comedian and take a picture as I was not aware they offered that, so that was a nice surprise. My boyfriend and I look forward to stopping by here for a future comedy date night as we had a really fun time.
