Bobby was so flexible with everything we insisted: 1) we wanted to a light-up dance floor that would be programmed with the music and he let us crash another event to see what it would look like; 2) he met us at our walk throughs multiple times to make sure everything was taken care of; 3) he worked through power issues with us and got us a silent power generator; 4) we didn't want to own any lights so he worked with us to buy exactly what we needed. Let me just start out by saying, Gina is AMAZING!!!!!! I cannot even imagine what my wedding day…read morewould have been like if I didn't have her on hand. I hired Gina as a Day-Of wedding coordinator, so we really didn't work together too much until the day of. In that package, I got two meetings with her prior to my wedding. The meetings are utilized however you like, and whenever you like. I used my first meeting to get an opinion on a lot of things I was undecided about, such as how to address our parents on our invitations since my parents are divorced and my dad is remarried, etc, it was very complicated. Gina was very helpful. She also gave me outstanding references for where to get invitations and also for my hair and makeup. The week of the wedding, she contacted all of my vendors and pulled together a timeline. Since I was extremely stressed out that week, I got very sick and could not get out of bed. Gina took over and coordinated all the last minute details for me- the trolley, the photographer, videographer, the DJ, etc. The DJ was something we were really worried about because he kept giving us a hard time about loading at our reception site. (Our reception was at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia). Gina handled him perfectly. The day of the wedding, a lot of things happened- I needed someone to pin on a piece of my crystal beaded sash onto my bouquet- that was Gina's first task and she handled it with such ease, then my veil was too heavy for my hair, so it kept pulling my hair down and she kept re-pinning it for me, one of the buttons was sewn too loosely at the train of my dress so it became very difficult to bustle me, but she was able to pin it and then re-pin it later on in the night after my husband stepped on my dress, there was another wedding with a very similar sounding last name as ours who had a trolley at the same hotel as us, and there was a mixup with where our booze went, Gina was able to take care of that and contact the groomsmen to figure out what happened, got off the trolley and brought us a new case of beer. She was so wonderful and helpful, I couldn't of imagined a better wedding planner. My only wish was that I hired her as a full-time planner instead of a day-of coordinator because I moved to Paris two weeks after my honeymoon, so I was super stressed throughout the entire engagement. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Gina Sole, she is the best planner out there.

I thought the concept of being a guest at your own wedding was a myth. Yet, this was the best…read morewedding I've ever been to, and it was my own wedding. Gina knocked this out of the park. Exceeded all my expectations. I hired Gina for day-of coordination and 10 hours of wedding planning. It was perfect for me because I'm an intense planner, but I knew there were some aspects of the wedding I didn't care to do the heavy researching on myself. It was a huge time saver, and removed stress being able to reach out to Gina and say, "do you know a florist in my price range" or "where can we get our make up done in Philly that we can trust." I was planning the wedding from New York, so I don't know how I would have ever found a florist without Gina. My florist was incredible and did such a great job, and I'm so grateful that I had her to help me with things like that. She also recommended us our audio company who also were A+. Every recommendation she made was spot-on and perfect. The week of the wedding she called all my vendors and confirmed the timeline, I didn't have to worry about a single thing. Gina is really warm, friendly, really has it together, and she is a BOSS. My wedding had a lot of moving parts and a very unique timeline. Gina kept everything flowing smoothly through the day, and our ceremony started on time! One of my bridesmaids told me right before the ceremony started that she has never been to a wedding that has started on time. She works very well with other vendors, and is great with communication and making sure you have everything you need. On the wedding day, she showed up at my hotel room with smiles and greeted me and all my bridesmaids. She also has a pretty serious steamer that she brought with her to steam my intensely long veil and she steamed one of my bridesmaid dresses for one of my ladies who had a last minute dress emergency. Also, later in the day my groom realized he forgot to move his reception change of clothes to the reception venue, and Gina went back to the hotel to his room and rushed the outfit to the reception. Saved the day! The ceremony was beautiful and flowed perfectly. Everyone knew what to do and was in the right place because of Gina's direction. She even loaded the whole wedding party into the limo at the hotel, and helped all the groomsmen attach their boutonnieres. We had a grand exit with flowerfetti and parking vouchers for the reception that needed to be handed out that took place around the same time, and Gina did a great job organizing so that both happened in a timely manner without confusion. She also made sure she had a coordinator working with my guest buses so guests wouldn't be on their own as they boarded the buses to the ceremony. It really made me feel relieved that someone was managing that so I felt confident everyone would get to the ceremony on time and safely. During the reception, everything flowed great. My dad had parking problems so he was late to the reception, and she even offered to park his car for him even though I knew he would decline since he always follows the rental rules about who can drive the car lol. I really appreciated that she would have jumped in if my dad was willing to let someone else drive the car. She stood outside the venue until he arrived and helped him inside. She helped me and all the wedding party line up for our entrances, and she personally walked me to the bridal suite since I had no idea where it was and she didn't want me to get lost. Overall, my groom and I, and even my wedding party had a stress-free, joyful day. Everyone had the best time, and several guests told us after the wedding its the best wedding they have ever been to. It was so much fun that everyone is still talking about the wedding, sharing photos, and talking about going BACK to Philly soon. Some guests are even joking about moving from New York to Philly. Our wedding party is already talking about a wedding party reunion. Thank you Gina! I had a phenomenal time! I can't believe that was my wedding. Beyond what I ever dreamed for my wedding.

I stumbled across them during a YouTube deep-dive of local wedding bands and immediately told my now-husband I'd found the right band. We reached out in Sept 2021 and asked if there was any opportunity to see them live before we booked. They didn't have any upcoming live shows at the time but immediately invited us to stop by one of their rehearsals, where we were greeted warmly from the moment we arrived. They played a few songs by our request, though within 30 seconds we confirmed we were sold, and then were friendly enough to all sit and get to know us for a bit. They met with us again closer to our wedding date to confirm all of our song choices for the big moments, even enthusiastically agreeing to create a surprise mash-up of my dad's song choice and a childhood favorite of ours for our father-daughter dance. On our actual wedding day, they were flawless from beginning to end. Their instrumental version of "Helpless" from Hamilton for my walk down the aisle instantly triggered tears. Our first dance and dance songs were perfect. Our dance floor was packed all evening, including friends and family who don't typically gravitate toward the dance floor, and we had an absolute blast. MLX even surprised us by bringing one of their singers who'd actually left the group since we'd booked because they remembered we'd felt drawn to him (though their new singer, James, is awesome, too!). You can tell that MLX really loves what they do and were genuinely invested in making sure our wedding was perfect. We can only hope that one of our friends hires Modern Luxe for their own wedding someday. Until then, we will definitely be seeking them out at one of their public shows so we can relive our perfect night over and over.

For those who frequent the live local cover band nightlife scene like hubs and I had so much fun…read moredoing before kiddos, you may remember a band called Lima Bean Riot. They have somewhat recently reinvented themselves as "Modern Luxe" and play weddings now too! They still kick tush!!! We recently attended a wedding and these guys absolutely rocked it!! They played a fantastic mix of genres and combined them all so seamlessly. They had the crowd dancing and singing along from beginning to end. They covered all the classics you expect to hear at a wedding and some you would never think to, but thought were an awesome add-in. Each member of the band who came from a variety of different musical backgrounds offered something unique to the mix and together, they were absolute perfect and well-rounded. The band acknowledged the couple often and very well. They gave a warmth to the couple as if they weren't just another gig. They even learned the first dance song which the bride said she loved more than the original. The bride also said that she was going to go with a DJ, but once she saw Modern Luxe at a bar one night in Philly, she was sold. My small critique has nothing to do with the music so I'll keep with my 5 star rating they deserve based on performance. The tiny thing that kind of rubbed me the wrong way was the beautiful, personable lead singer's flip flops which she wound up changing into well into the night. I totally get it. Heels suck. There's no getting around it. Dancing and performing in them for hours blows. I've done it. I too was in the same industry for years and years and wore heels the entire night. I feel her pain, I really, really do. I just think it looked very unprofessional for a wedding, even a more casual summer barn wedding. There could've been a better, more appropriate shoe choice in my opinion. I'm not one for flip flops anywhere other than the beach or on the way to yoga. Certainly not with a dress and definitely not to your place of work or a wedding. A nice sandal if she wanted to keep with a summer open toe, a ballet flat or flat ankle bootie to go with the whole rocker chick thing. I mention this because I'm not the only one who noticed. The bride gave a lot of thought into every perfect elegant detail of her special night and I personally thought it was a tad disrespectful. I know this may sound harsh and silly, but I notice these things and apparently wasn't the only one. Small, tiny fixable flaw however. I've seen other photos of her performing and she looks amazing and dressed up, head to toe so I'm not sure what the deal was with this night.... I would absolutely hire these guys without thinking twice and I'm suuuuuuuper picky about bands. If you're in the market for a band for your wedding which I personally think is the way to go and makes a world of a difference, check these guys out! They still play the bar scene so seeing them live before booking or just for fun is easy. Check their Insta or FB for upcoming gigs!
