Umoja Events surely did their thing via their 11th Annual Juneteenth 2020 "Curated Virtual Festival" Experience! I miss so much their street version but when life throws curveballs to a dynamic entrepreneur such as Athenia Rodney, she utilized the available tools and continued her annual event. I got a chance to see live vendors who spoke about their products or demonstrated some of their services while I was comfortable at home relaxing. Presenting this way was new to most of them but they made it work and pivoted when they needed to for better flow. DJ Fame, event host Kendall Rodney (DJ Basiq), and Athenia Rodney (Mompreneur of Umoja Events) kept the attendees of the scheduled entertainment truly entertained and many I saw opted to interact with them online. Zoom Room 2 had micro learning presentations, I was able to attend only one thought but it was informative. All of them will be better for doing this virtual event. They will have learned what they need to tweak when they do this in the future. I believe the attendees/viewers enjoyed themselves and possibly gained insights from the experience of what they can create online. I had to plan a baby shower pretty much last minute and I called around and couldn't really get call backs and follow ups. When I got in contact with these people at Umoja they were professional, ready with ideas, and supportive. Even though I gave them a brief description of what I wanted and left it in their hands to provide decor that would make this event's theme seem relevant, the end result was creative and a huge success. It all came together and when Umoja people dropped off the decorations I was surprised, proud and relieved all at the same time. The event seemed to fly by me but when ever I looked around to see how everything was going people were engaged and the place looked really great and the mom to be was so happy. I'm grateful for a local business I can call that are skillful, reliable and honest. I contracted the company for our 1st Family Fun and game Night event at the school. We planned for a crowd of 400! Umoja Events came well prepared...first they decorated the school entry, auditorium, gym and cafeteria with balloons in our school colors. That set the pace with a beautiful visual of school spirit. The families totally enjoyed the Family Feud and other audience participation games in the auditorium. Umoja Events is probably the best Event and party planning service out there. The staff are amazing. I've used them for a series of events. Ballon drop off- best there is. You don't know how annoying it is to drive with a bunch of balloons. Imagine only paying pennies more to not deal with that headache. Call Umoja Baby shower: now I planned my own baby shower. Even though we kept playing phone tag the day before the wedding, the team had everything under control. Athenia and team were excellent. They planned 4 outdoor events and 1 virtual event.
