Where the Chassehof is different to the norm significantly is in the fresh cooking section where you can select your own fresh ingredients (meats, veg etc.) to have them freshly cooked in your choice of sauces. There's also grilled meats and teriyaki available, cooked on demand. There are however two things which I mark it down for; the place is utter chaos, and it's expensive. The first issue is maybe a symptom of it's popularity, but the fresh food area especially seemed little more than organised chaos. The second isn't and issue for me per say, but it's worthy of note. If you're not on a rugby team you'll maybe feel you've over paid for what you get.

Don't come here if you're in a hurry. This experience may be a one-off, as the waiter apologized for the wait and brought me a free refill of the lychee soda. The noodles were fine, a substantial meal with lots of vegetables in the soup. I added some soy sauce as it was pretty bland. Next time I would ask for some of their black garlic oil. I would come back, if only to try the spicy dish (they describe the spicy sauce as "numbing"!), but I think this place would be great for meat eaters.

After being rejected prior at other restaurants due to a lack of reservations, we were pleasantly surprised and happy to know there were many seats available at this restaurant. We were also pleasantly surprised when the host told us about their gourmet buffet. The upstairs is an ala cart Japanese restaurant while the downstairs area is devoted to their buffet. The buffet offerings included everything from raw oysters, sushi and sashimi, to delicious warm entrées like mushrooms and garlic and sautéed bok choy along with fried rice and fried noodles. The salad offerings were fresh and absolutely delicious. They have cold plates for the cold food options and heated plates for the hot food entrées. The service staff was amazingly kind and helpful. All reasons we would definitely come back to this establishment.
