Op dat moment was er een ober bij ons en hij zag dat het een ongelukje was. We glimlachten naar elkaar. Een paar minuten later kwam er een vrouw naar ons toe, die wij dachten dat zij een van de managers van het restaurant was, en liet ons luid en brutaal voor alle klanten aan onze tafel berispen. Ondanks dat de ober het ongeluk had gezien en wij duidelijk maakten dat het per ongeluk was, vernederde ze ons voor al die klanten. We konden daar geen moment langer blijven; we stonden meteen op, betaalden onze rekening en verlieten het restaurant met tranen in onze ogen. Ik moest dit voorval delen. Er is een risico dat zoiets kan gebeuren wanneer je dit restaurant bezoekt. Als je daarheen gaat, bestaat de kans dat je aan je tafel benaderd wordt en berispt wordt.

Warning: I have had a "Chicken of the Sea" sushi roll here that was supposed to contain maguro--a common European sushi bar faux pas. But it was only the one time during a busy dinner rush! Chef Yamamoto serves gorgeous dishes, which he prepares front of house for all to see. His broth is delicious and the tofu was meltingly soft. His signature of 'Griet' fish done 3 ways is a revelation. The jelly is given texture by the addition of Griet roe, and the sashimi of the same fish is lightly cured and seasoned by being pressed in seaweed for 24h. Wonderful dish where everything just works. Price and quality are startling with various appetisers and immaculate dishes coming your way before finishing with a plate of generous sushi. Otoro tuna, Unagi etc. we'll crafted, with his rice being exceptional. The staff is sweet and friendly, and due to the fact that the small team is just starting, you get the feel of eating a surprisingly excellent meal in someone's sitting room.
