I am extremely disappointed with Fitzsimons Credit Union's handling of a minor payment issue on my…read moreauto loan. After making payments on a $35,000 vehicle loan and paying hundreds of dollars in interest over the life of the loan, Fitzsimons reported a late payment to the credit bureaus over a balance of just $10.38 that was paid one day late. When I contacted customer service to request a goodwill adjustment, I was told they could not help me over the phone and that I would need to handwrite and mail a letter requesting leniency. In 2026, requiring customers to send handwritten letters for something that could be reviewed in a few minutes feels outdated and unnecessarily burdensome. I understand lenders have policies, but there should be room for common-sense discretion, especially for customers with otherwise positive payment histories. Reporting a customer to the credit bureaus over a $10.38 balance that was resolved almost immediately feels punitive rather than customer-focused. This experience has left me questioning whether Fitzsimons Credit Union values long-term member relationships. I expected more flexibility and better customer service from a credit union.

They even admitted that mailed in bill pay checks are often a problem for them and they often get missed accidentally. Horrible excuse for a business. Poor phone customer service as well, ZERO phone calls or letters when payments are missed, and NO online service to check to see if payments are posted! Just cross your fingers I guess! I waited several minutes maybe realistically 25 minutes that's about average. Finally, someone responded to the call button to tell me that the canister was gone and the drive thru was closed. A sign stating the drive thru was closed would have been nice.

The last place I would think I would get a fake bill would be at a Bank. You would think they would at least have one of those markers that test the bills as they take them. It is was over 20 $100 bills. It sounds absurd to ask a client to go through all the bills before you leave. They have a great app for checking your accounts and have recently added the feature where you can do mobile deposits. It is really cool and fabulously convenient. It can be 2 am and you can deposit a check from your lazy boy. The only bummer is it doesn't work for depositing cash. I deal with 2 area banks but most of my business has come here because of the superior service and communication. I recently even refinanced my car just so I could move the loan to them. Not like you need to refinance a 3.99% loan... But they actually could give me a better rate! Go talk to Karla, Debbie, Ann, Julie, Nick or Brandon. They will gladly help you with whatever you need. Fast and totally friendly. Will call you by name when you walk in the door.. Well after they know it of course. your ATM fees are even reimbursed if you use an ATM other then theirs. Good see them..
