I live in Longmont and currently have an auto loan financed through this bank. I've called multiple times and sent several emails trying to get help with the mobile app, but no one has been able to assist me. That's the reason I drove all the way to this Aurora branch, expecting to finally get proper help in person. Instead, I was told it would take a while and that I could either sit and wait until they finished helping everyone behind me, or just call the customer service number. The person who assisted me seemed annoyed and was not friendly at all, which made the experience even worse. This was extremely disappointing. If calling had worked, I wouldn't have made the trip. They are a bank and in it to make money. Deceptive practices. They will take your money as "fees" instead of turning it over to the State as an abandoned account. Funny how the "fees" were the EXACT same amount of money that was in the accounts, which both had different balances. Do not put your money here unless you want to kiss it goodbye. read more

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Last week, I arrived at 5:10 PM, even though they don't close until 5:30 PM. The doors were still open, and from a distance, I noticed one of the receptionists rolling her eyes and nodding her head in annoyance. When I got closer, she gave me an attitude. I told her I was there just to withdraw money, but she continued being rude. When she went to retrieve the money, she exaggerated her movements with the keys, acting as if she couldn't open the door, and made faces at me in an obviously annoyed manner. If you're going to hire people for customer service, make sure they are actually capable of providing good service. This is not the way to treat customers. read more

This is probably the worst bank I've ever been to. I've been a member of Fitzsimons Credit Union since they were exclusive to military and their families but in the recent 5 years, this bank just seems to go further into the ground every year. The line for the tellers are usually pretty quick, but anytime you need to do more than deposit or withdrawal money, you'll wait about 20 minutes minimum. They're extremely inefficient. There's one person who is working and everyone always has an excuse as to why they're not the ones who are able to help, but they'll be sitting at their computers and receptionist is flipping back and forth on Skype as she's trying to help someone in front of her. I had to make 2 trips to just change my name. The same paperwork that works at every other bank wasn't enough for this bank. I brought my new ID and social security card shows my new name, they required I brought my ACTUAL marriage license. I get they can claim it's "policy", but they're a credit union and it's THEIR policy, not the policy of any other credit union. My point is that they make things difficult for you rather than easy. My second trip here for the same issue, still trying to change my name, and now we are 45 minutes in and this is how valiant the employees are working to help me get in and out. The assistant manager has an appointment, and the only other person with a desk who can help is organizing papers rather than helping someone here. read more

I have had Fitzsimons Credit Union for over 45 years. The debit card I have will expire at the end of the month. Most banks send replacements 30 days before. I have called twice each time I was told it was mailed the day before. Today I was told it was mailed on January 16. The 16th was a bank and post office holiday. DO NOT TRUST FITZSIMONS. read more

Months later, I'm trying to get all of my money moved to a different bank and they didn't transfer the money and charged an NSF fee even though the funds were in the account. This credit Union is an absolute joke. I'm a native to Co. The accounts I have with them, I've had for over 4-5 years. Earlier this week was my first time ever depositing a check since COVID AND they locked my debit card without letting me know, resulting in ALL MY TRANSACTIONS BEING DENIED REGARDLESS OF ME CALLING AND HAVING FUNDS. I no longer live in Aurora, but I'm in Denver, so I'm not going to consistently drive 30-45 minutes to talk to tellers who love to beat around the bush. I know my fucking rights. It's my money. I'm constantly charged bullshit fees and the tellers are the most unprofessional people I've come across. If you can't run basic transactions a timely manner, do not tell your customers that it'll be available. As simple as that. Don't bank here, it's a waste of time and money. read more

We have been members for years. Have opened several car loans with this credit union. Recently have had the worst customer service. Had a car totalled and waited months before they sent the info about the payoff to the insurance co. Delayed getting another car. Recently the auto pay withdrew my loan amount twice from my bank account. Have called twice they say they will credit me back. Almost two weeks later still nothing. I worked with Kevin on two separate occasions, he was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, addressed my concerns, truly AWESOME. I spoke and worked with Linda on a loan. Truly a great experience. Truly the worst customer service experience and if there was a possibility of rating them a 0, they would earn it. I had such a hard time to talk to a rep to pay off my loan. Once I did pay it off, they haven't been able to send me a pay off letter. I have called back 3 times to try to get the letter and have had a wait time of an hour on each call and they end up with a promise to either email or mail the letter. 2 months later and I can't get my pay off letter. So I have a bill pay set up with Fitzsimons and I realized that I have had 3 deposits that were suppose to go electronically to another checking account never made it. Loraina who is the manager there stated it was the other banks fault that the electronic money never got there. She told me to call the other bank, so I did. They did not receive any of my deposits electronically. She kept saying this was done electronically she could not do anything about it. Do they not have some kind of system to see which account this money went to. Because it certainly did not go to my account. She said she was send me a dispute form which I have yet to see. None of this makes any sense the right account number is connected to the electronic bill pay but yet it has never gotten there. Rude person just does not seem to care after you wait an 1/2 an hour to talk to someone. read more

This place is horrible as far as costumer service goes.... It takes almost 40 mins to get a hold of someone over the phone. Then finally once you get someone, they are rude as can be. Oh my Gosh!! It's bad!!! I have worked over the phone and I know it can get frustrating and overwhelming at times but this is every time I call, I get treated like shit! And then I get this messages on my email saying that online banking has been made easier but that is a bunch of bull crap!!! Their app does not work and to be able to deposit a check takes forever!!!! They don't tell you that you have to write mobile deposit only in the back of the check so you have to call and wait a long ass time on hold just to find out about this.. I have a simple checking and savings account here - no loans, no credit cards, nothing like that. I don't even pay bills from this account! To give you an idea of what this bank is like, simply call their phone number and listen to the "menu voice" for their phone system. It's the voice of like, a 90 year old man, LMAO. This banks policies are completely in the stone age. Try not to call them unless you have about 2 hours to waste listening to the 90 year old voice, because you'll be on hold for - yes - that long. I guess if you took a Delorean from the 80's to 2018, this bank is perfect for you, but other than that, find another credit union. read more

Fitzsimons makes me want to cry with frustration every time I try to pay my car payment. They have made it next to impossible to make loan payments any other way than through snail mail. You have to jump through multiple hoops to hook up your checking account to your loan account, involving watching for a period of two or three days for penny deposits, and even then, the website locks me out frequently and they never respond to my requests for a new password. Even paying over the phone is next to impossible. There is a $7 convenience fee, the person who does it seems to rarely be in the office, and even when they are, you have to wait on hold for 30 minutes to do it. Forget about leaving messages - they never call you back. To try to avoid this, I have sent in all the necessary paperwork to set up direct deposits a total of three times and it never goes through. This is sent in using their pre-printed envelopes, so I don't know how the information gets lost, but they've managed to do it each and every time. When I asked about completing this request an alternate way, they asked that I print out forms and fax them to the office. Is Fitzsimons located in an alternate universe where it's still 1985? Please, please, please invest in some technological upgrades and give your customers options that don't involve printers, scanners, fax machines or other equipment that no one under the age of 35 owns! And if you want to maintain the "personal relationship" factor in the financial industry, you need to actually have people in your office. I am losing my mind here. read more

this is the worst credit union in colorado. longest call wait times. never been less than 15 minutes swear to DOGGO. when they say 7 to 10 business days for a new card, they mean 10-14 days and if you say you need it sooner they can OVERNIGHT IT FOR $25. One time i overdrafted for 3 minutes and they wouldnt refund me a $30 overdraft fee and ive been with them for almost 2 years. I am closing my account TODAY. TERRIBLE SERVICE ALWAYS except when opening your account. I am switching to premier members. I go there for shared banking. I threatened to close my account and they said "okay. nothing i can do" not to mention where you can go to get your card reprinted is a horribly inconvenient location. read more

I have been a lifelong member so knew what the experience was like when it used to serve just military families--during that time, Fitzsimons was my only financial institution--it met my needs and had good customer service . Ever since it has opened to the world, the experience has become miserable. I guess they think they can get away with treating clients so poorly now because it's not just military clientele and they know for every customer they lose, someone else will bring them their money. First let's talk about the phone customer service--long waits, people that are short and rude, can't seem to get information and when they transfer you to someone's voicemail... good luck ever hearing back. Second, can we please come into the 21st century when it comes to internet and mobile banking? Such limited functionality online and via the mobile app--painful. Third--all the fees. I thought one of the main advantages to a credit union (as opposed to a bank) was that it was member owned and supposedly had limited or no fees. What a joke. Seems like they keep adding fees and don't ever notify you. If you're going to charge me fees to use my money, than at least pay some people with an inkling about customer service--where is that fee money going anyway?! Certainly not to hire good people or invest in modern technology... Bottom line, join a bank (for all you military folks--USAA has been amazing) and avoid this place like the plague. All you get is sub par service, fees for trying to use YOUR money, crappy service, and merely lip service if you try to bring forward any concerns--but nothing changes for the better. read more

We have recently noticed that phone calls are not getting returned in a timely manner. Also the hold time waiting to speak to a customer service representative has gotten excessive, 20 minutes on hold recently. When I finally made contact with someone, I was promised some information I needed would be emailed to me. This never arrived. Now they have completely changed their computer system. The old one was fine ("If it ain't broke, don't fix it"). Will look to change to another credit union soon. read more

I have always recommended this bank to anyone who lives near or attends the University Of Colorado, School of Medicine because I had remembered them being friendly and it was conveniently close to the Anschutz Medical Campus. I went to the drive through this afternoon at 1:50pm or so and the teller couldn't muster to say one.single.word to me. I financed a work vehicle for our business about two months ago through this credit union. I initially had the absolute worst experience, I received an email with confirmation of payment for my first payment. Then got a call from their creditors two weeks later asking me to make a Payment. They told me weeks after the fact, even after my paid confirmation email, that the incorrect account number was input. I did some digging and saw that the payment was never drafted from my account. The next week was absolute hell trying to get in touch with someone over the phone, and the kept trying to tell me there was no way to waive the late payment, in addition since I wanted to pay over the phone to ensure the same issues didn't occur with their automated systems, they told me there was no way around charging me an additional $10.00 to make a phone payment even under the circumstances. This would have been a 0 star review if it weren't for Trina at south lands Fitzsimons branch. I finally got in touch with her and she resolved every single problem in a matter of minutes. She even went above and beyond to help me set up automatic payments, which was not necessarily her responsibility. I spoke with probably 3-4 people at this institution which started off as the most frustrating experience I had ever had with a financial institution, and it was all turned around by Trina's hard work and exceptional customer service. She is by far in my short experience their strongest asset and I would recommend going to her with any additional needs or questions! read more

I've been banking there for over 20 years (my entire family for over 30 years), and we've always felt like valued and trusted credit union members. I've had accounts with other banks, but Fitzsimons is by far my favorite. They've got a great selection of banking products, but what I most appreciate is that people who work there actually know my name when I walk in (indeed, they know my entire family). Anytime I need something, they are so on top of it. I had a recent issue arise in the past couple weeks, and I contacted Melanie for assistance, and she resolved it in a matter of days. What's more, she kept me posted daily with an update as to what was going on and what she was doing to address the issue. She resolved it promptly, and I really appreciate all she does for me and my family (not just in this instance but throughout the years). I trust Melanie and the team at Southlands with something incredibly important to me--my finances. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great bank with a "small town" feel. read more
