Called Umanzor's owner Milton before the summer to get a quote for repair one plank of wood on my garage door and repaint the entire garage door. Milton offered to do the job for $950 and took the sample wood that I removed from the garage door to find a match. When I returned from an overseas business trip, I called Milton to check if he found the replacement wood and when he could do the job. He said he hasn't found the wood and would search for it right away. 3-4 hours later, his other business partner, his wife Daysi, called me back saying that Milton has found the replacement wood, but the price is now $1350. When I reminded her that Milton and I had agreed on the price of $950 a few weeks ago with a handshake, Milton took photo of my garage door, took the wood sample, and there was no work scope change, she said that the best they can do is $1250 with another crew. This is a classic "bait and switch" scheme. Of course, I refused her "offer". When I asked them to return my wood sample, they never send it back so far (3-4 weeks). Hope potential customers would be aware of this business' practice. read more
