We found this ramen shop due to it was close to our hotel, and it sure did not disappoint our appetite. Their ramen and broth was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered tan tan men, I ordered miso ramen and were very delicious. Kare age, gyozq were fried nicely! You need to stop by and try this awesome ramen shop if you are in Dusseldorf!

This place does Japanese right! I have spent about four years in Japan and enjoy good Japanese food. We have been here quite a few times and they consistently deliver the same quality food and service. I typically get the Veggie Ramen and sometimes add the chicken (Japanese style) schnitzel. The chicken and broth are always piping hot. the chicken is fried in panko so it is nice and crispy. They leave the skin on one side, I always discard that part. The broth is soy-based with quite a rich peanut and fermented soy bean (natto) taste. We also usually order some gyoza, which is a nice starter. We always go when we are craving noodles, so I haven't tried some of there other dishes. Stay tuned! It is a fairly small place, so there may be a short wait if they're busy.

Umaimon is a great place to eat. The chicken katsu is fantastic (unfortunately no pork version available) and the ramen is just to love. If you like authentic Japanese food, you should try the Umaimon.

Small Japanese noodle house with lots of locals. That is a good sign. I tried their headline noodles - it was good, deep flavored broth. However, what I liked more was the spicy miso broth that my friend had with the veg noodles. Good atmosphere and good people - good experience.

It was really good! My me and my cousins arrived quite late but the staff was still nice and polite. I doubt they're all fluent in German but it's quite easy to make yourself understood.

Best Japanese noodle house in düsseldorf . Intimate seating. Great noodles . Lots of locals. :)

Super awesome ramen. The soup is incredibly thick and savory and the atmosphere makes you feel very much at home. Home as in Japan that is. This is one of the best ramens I've had including in Japan. Not to be missedd

Authentic Japanese ramen & "kareraisu"(curry rice) place. Nice and cozy; menu items are good & tasty overall. Highly recommended.

We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.

FOOD & DRINKS Okonomiyaki in Düsseldorf is not very common…read more That is why I wanted to see how good it actually is. If I am not mistaken, what they serve here is the Osaka style okonomiyaki where everything is mixed in the batter and served as a thick pancake. I much prefer the Hiroshima style where it is more of a thin pancake and the ingredients sit on top of that and also often comes with fried noodles. It gives more layers of texture and is less heavy on the stomach. But that is just my personal preference. Osaka style oknomiyaki can be pretty filling and I did the mistake in ordering it with the fried chicken. Batter on batter and on top of that with Japanese potato salad. While the size of the pancake is pretty small, it can fill you up in no time. And if not then just add some protein and cheese on top. You won't go home hungry. The execution of the okonomiyaki is fine. I am just not a fan of this style because the pancake can be so dense. That is just me though. Other than that I would have preferred to do it myself. I also find it more fun that way but having an experienced chef to do it for you is by no means a bad thing for the majority of customers. Furthermore I'm happy to see that they also offer vegetarian items. SERVICE I think the service was alright. It felt very formal which is not my preferred style of service but that doesn't make it bad. You will be in good hands. ATMOSPHERE Here comes what I think is the big seller of this restaurant besides of the okonomiyaki. The decoration is just phenomenal but also very untypical for most oknomiyaki restaurants you find throughout Japan which are more simplistic. While most of the other Japanese style restaurants in the area definitely try to adopt and make a more modern approach to interior design, this place takes a slightly different direction. This place is packed with decorations about Japan. From the traditional big lamps to the japanese sake containers on the wall to the cute details all around. This place wants to make you feel as if you were in Japan not just by the food but also with their sense of decoration. RATING This place can be packed if you come here with a group of more than two and want to sit at a table. I highly recommend to reserve a table to make sure you don't have to wait too long. Come here if you miss Japan or if you want to immerse yourself into Japanese culture. This restaurant is worth trying out! NOTE One review mentioned that you can't get oknomiyaki for dinner. That is not true. You can get it every day for dinner. That is what they are known for. Just make sure to check when the kitchen closes. You can't get them too late into the evening.

Just to be treated like scum for having the audacity to ask for warm food. The japanese lady (girl?) behind the counter said "Choose from the dishes in the counter", whereupon I responded that I am not there for cold food - especially given the wintry temperatures in Düsseldorf. I was told again that I couldn't have any hot food, to which I asked at what time the kitchen would then open? (We arrived at noon, but maybe they were delayed?) She hten curtly told me "There will be no hot food.", pointed to a small note on the glass shield that separates the customer from the kitchen areas and turned around to bitch with her colleague in Japanese. Which shocked my (japanese) wife as it was uttered in quite a loud voice and easily understandable. WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS? And where the courtesy to update your website if you decide to take a break from offering warm dishes? We have family in Germany and are there quite often - but never at Wayo again.
