There is something magical about a horizontal rotisserie that is fueled with life from glowing charcoal beneath. What I love about this little grill house is that they just concentrate on a few items. No Currywurst, Schnitzel or other things that are just there to have variety. Just simple yet amazing Greek food. You have the choice of three types of meat. Chicken, pork or lamb. I went for the pork souvla pita and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The meat was well seasoned, smoky, juicy and had a wonderful citrus note. Superb. The pita could have been a bit more crispy on the outside for my taste but other than that it was a soft piece of yummy bread. I won't deny that the person who sat next to me ordered some chicken which looked horribly dry. I might just be lucky to have picked the pork. The reason why I think it was dry is their method of cooking. You have to understand that this is a bit like a fast food diner. Everything needs to go out fast. That is why some of the items are precooked and put into a container which always expose it to the danger of getting dried out. But I can only judge what was served to me and that was wonderful and made me wonder about the gyro, chicken thigh and souvlaki. SERVICE Everyone here were very nice and friendly. Plus they all actually had a smile on their faces. What else can you wish for? ATMOSPHERE Did I mention this place is small? Four tables that allows up to four persons each plus two bar counter type seats. I think they could definitely improve upon the seating area when it comes to style but on the other hand I don't think it matters that much because the star is the open kitchen and the food. RATING I came here with a full belly but I felt like I had to try out one place in Düsseldorf while I have been there and forced myself to go in here. Although my body said no, I still enjoyed my first bite a lot and the bite after that... I think that speaks for itself. Also when you come here be ready to wait for a seat or take a pita to go. This place is always very busy and you know its good when you are the only person who doesn't speak Greek.

There are a few things that make this place really special. First is the lamb scorpion pot (I.e…read more lamb spine pot), one of my all time favorite growing up in Beijing , which I crave but I could never find it out side of China. I would have give it 5 stars if not for my impossibly high standards. It's a must try for anyone who likes lamb, the meat on the spine is simply the most tasty part of a lamb, much more so than ribs. Second, the cumin lamb skewers, these are just as good as what you can find in China. Originated from Xin Jiang, it's becoming very popular street food all over Beijing, if not all over China. They have the normal sliced beef, lamb & chicken hot pot as well, which are fresh but the sauce needs a bit improvement. The correct bean past for this style of Mongolian hot pot is " 甜面酱"、 the sweet bean paste. Unfortunately, it's substituted with "hoisin sauce" instead. It looks the same as 甜面酱, but tastes are drastically different, it's much more sweet & it destroyed the authenticity, thus, lost one star IMHO. My advice, go stock up the real Beijing 甜面酱, don't cut corners!

The spicy broth, was incredibly spicy, so we actually had to dilute it with the white broth, but it was worth it. We waited for the food... and waited... and the waitress showed up with 2 large bowls of noodles. We asked her, whether this was the appetiser size and she said no, since we didn't mention it(?!?!). She said we couldn't return the noodles since the food was already cooked. So we proceeded to cancel the order of the chicken, because we wouldn't be able to finish so much food and we despise wastage. Let's be real- the noodles were really good and freshly made. Lots of garlic and the great sichuan peppercorn spice. We both enjoyed the noodles, but going to a restaurant and paying 11+€ for a simple bowl of noodles, it's not just about the food. The service was so bad, we had to wait for so long. Even in the end, when we wanted to pay, we had to wait 10 mins for the waitress. And telling us that we can't return the wrong order is really rude! If you are looking for good Sichuan food, give it a shot, but be prepared for bad service and long times waiting.
