Summary: A hairstylist should know what they are capable of and what they are not capable of. And if there is any chance of misunderstanding, there needs to be more proactive communication. I came in to bleach my grown-out roots. I am aware I have dark hair, and it was also a point of concern for me as well going in, because this was my first time at this salon and I didn't know what to expect. At first I was leaning toward a full foil instead of a full bleach, but I was told that my grow-outs didn't have as much of a straight line boundary as I had thought. So I opted for the full bleach. This is where miscommunication #1 happened. If the hairstylist felt that another option was more appropriate, they should have communicated that clearly. I was never given any recommendation by the stylist for a full foil over a full bleach. I wasn't even particular about having one option over another, so there should have been more pushback from a professional standpoint. It's more likely that the stylist was unsure of her own capabilities for either option. Then, the end result came out. I am aware that I have dark hair, so I didn't expect my roots to lighten up to the same tone of the rest of my hair in one go, but I was NOT expecting the little bits of dark hair remaining in the boundary between my old bleached hair and my newly bleached hair. I pointed that out to the stylist, and she reasoned that I would need another bleach session. This was where miscommunication #2 happened. If a second session is needed, the stylist should have clearly communicated the expectations for the results, or at least have anticipated the client concerns with the incomplete outcome. Nonetheless, there should never have been bits and pieces of dark hair remaining, even if there is an expected difference in color between the newly bleached hair and the old hair. The stylist also did not respond to feedback in the most professional manner. Her responses not only failed to de-escalate tension but also contributed to even more tension with me, although I communicated my points calmly. The only reason this review is not even worse is because the lady at the concierge desk stepped in and made an actual effort to schedule a second session for me within a reasonable window of time. read more

If I need anything done, Ultimate is my first choice. Hair, eyebrows, product, etc. The women in there are so powerful with their tools. They make miracles happen and I know miracles all too well. They are funny and make you feel as you are the only priority, which is hard to do with the amount of traffic that goes in there. If I had my choice, Rhaya is my hair girl. The owner, the daughter not the mother who evidently lives in Florida, is a horrible person. I have seen and heard this woman yelling at a disabled woman causing her to cry, and then pretending to "apologize " to this lady only to turn and gossip about her when she left and I was still there. This is not the first time I have seen her or heard her gossiping about others and treating them badly when they don't add up to her little perfect group of people. That woman spent a lot off a lot of money at the salon, and I know that because I spend a lot of money in the salon and after seeing what I have seen with this woman and how the other hairdressers won't stick up for the poor other ladies I'm done with this place as well. I hope starlet the mother in Florida, comes back and realize what's happening at this place of business. Of course, you have wonderful things to say when you're not on the crap end of the stick from starlet Junior. You start to realize just how little they really think of you when you hear the gossip about others. This younger Starlette seems to think that her you know what doesn't stink. I, & others have witnessed this on several occasions with several different people who were disabled or unable to afford what we normally going to have our hair done. Or our nails done. I appreciate the professionalism of Ultimate Touch. I've called many salons or nail spas in Webster and Ultimate Touch was the only business that called me back. I like the ability to book services online, too. So far, I have had a haircut and pedicures and found the staff personable and willing to listen. My only drawback in visiting this spa is that many services are offered on the second floor and I have a hard time navigating stairs. I recently stopped into Ultimate Touch because I needed some serious help with my hair! I went in to see what products they would recommend. The woman at the desk was extremely friendly and welcoming. I was really impressed with how bright and cheery the salon seemed. I had never been in there before and I was immediately offered a beverage and given a tour of the salon. Everything was very clean and the atmosphere was very inviting. I let them know I was interested in purchasing products and a stylist came over to ask me questions and consult with me about what I was looking for. Prior to reading this review, I have never posted on Yelp before, but I felt compelled to start an account so I can tell you how awful this dye job was and hopefully to stop you from ever stepping in this salon. I called Ulitmate Touch and asked if I could have my hair done "Marilyn Monroe" blonde. The women who answered,the owner "Star", said she could do that and booked me with a hairdresser that "does great great blonde hair". I arrived at my appointment and my hairdresser greeted me. Upon seeing her I showed her what I wanted my hair to look like (picture attached) and decided I wanted the baylage( sp?) effect of the light brown fading into bleach blonde hair instead of the Marilyn Monroe as I had told the owner over the phone. She says she can do that and all is going well until the owner steps in and says "get me (so and so awful color) and I'll take over". So she starts coloring my hair (without gloves) and the dye is slopping all over the place (got onto my boots which did not come off). I thought this was going to be the beginning of a nightmare. Well turns out my instinct was right. My hairdresser takes me over to the sink and I ask to go to the bathroom. In the bathroom mirror I see BRIGHT NEON YELLOW peaking through my cap. I sat down at the sink and said "this looks very yellow". The owner came over and told the hairdresser not to use toner to even out the color and claimed it will "blow dry differently" as if blow drying will miraculously turn it into a beautiful sand blonde. So the owner blow dries just the sides, not a full blow dry and I am shocked. I have never seen such a horrific dye job. Even better was I was there for FOUR HOURS to dye my hair NEON YELLOW/BRASSY ORANGE which I could have done with boxed color. She stands there and says "Its a beautiful color". Maybe to you it is, but its not at all what I asked for. I specifically said I can't have any golden tones prior to that because my hair turns yellow/brassy. She just stares at me as if theres nothing she can do. She actually let me leave disappointed and said "come in tomorrow so I can fix it". Great. I go to the reception and she says "its $150". ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS?!! For what??! I waited 4 hours to listen to the owner boss the poor hairdresser around who was only trying to do her job, take clients in between, dye my hair yellow, not even a cut or a full blow dry and its $150. So I pay the receptionist and leave very upset. The next morning I called the owner. I said "I think what happened was you assumed I wanted the Marilyn Monroe Blonde and I showed the hair dresser something different so both of you must have miscommunicated resulting in something I didn't want." She replied "we didn't miscommunicate and we couldn't get the color you wanted, come back in and I'll fix it" I told her that I would not come back that I would have to go to a professional and I wanted a refund. She refused to give me a refund and said she would give me store credit and also chimed in "I looked at your history here and you were always a problem customer". WHAT?! I've been there twice before and gave the hairdressers good tips and never complained. So now she's insulting me and not giving me a refund. Not much I could do at this point seeing as she clearly has zero customer service experience so I hung up and moved on with my life. Thankfully I went to see my friend at Bradley and Diegel and she fixed my hair to not only a "normal color" but completely transformed my hair. I told her my story and she was appalled and said "I would never let my client leave unsatisfied". On top of restoring my hair, she only charged me $10 because she felt so bad. ^ that is amazing customer service looks like. So you think this story is not that bad, well it gets worse. Not even one month later I notice my hair is thinning and balding in patches on the side of my scalp and Im in hysterics. My hair is usually so thick that it hurts wearing a pony tail, not I can't even wear a pony tail because my hair is balding. I went to my hair dresser and she said that it is balding on the sides and asked if I got a bleach job. Well what do you know, good ole Ultimate Touch not only completely ruined my hair, ruined my boots with bleach, took $150 of my hard owned money, insulted me, and made me wait for 4 hours, but also left me balding. I am not one to complain but when you spend a lot of money on a service you expect to leave with what you wished for. Now Im paying more money to fix my hair and am not sure how to fix my balding areas which has completely exhausted me. I hope no-one ever has to go through what I experienced and please TRUST YOUR OWN HAIR DRESSER AND WAIT UNTIL THEIR SCHEDULE OPENS UP! Don't be impatient like I was. read more

I cannot say enough about this spa. It is so clean and beautifully decorated. I was greeted, offered a beverage, and they even hung up my coat. I was given a tour of the spa and was given a gift bag with a sample and menu of their services because it was my first visit. I was looking for a spa to be serviced for my hair, facials, and nails since I am new to the area. When I asked where to go it was unanimous Ultimate Touch came highly recommended. I now can see why. I have to admit I was nervous at first going to a new place, but I was immediately put at ease. This team is highly educated and their service and skill is simply amazing. They informed me that they continuously educate and that was evident. I loved my service and this spa will be my place of choice.
