I have three children. My two oldest kids loved coming here, I signed my little one up without hesitation. The owner and manager were very accommodating when my kids had to take a long break because I was too physically ill to take them there. The Masters and instructors are great with kids and have helped get them breakout out of their fear and shyness. Over the years, they have had a part in how my kids have developed. They teach the kids about kindness, respect, and courage at the Dojo and teach lessons that reinforce that in the home as well, which I never expected. Through the program my kids have learned resilience, and focus. They have great relationships with their Instructors and Masters. I don't want to seem idealistic here, it is a business and they are entitled to protect their business and the livelihood of themselves as well as their employees. To be clear, that's what contracts are for. They offer a service to teach my kids. They provide that and structured physical activity which I am legally contracted to pay for if I decide to commit to that. The bottom line is I got what I paid for. The rest was up to my kids' interest, effort, and determination. Neither, we as parents or teachers of any kind can force that on any kid. read more

I had my oldest daughter in here 15 years ago and my youngest daughter in here this summer. I'm going to keep putting them in every summer as long as they run that great special. They always have great instructors and young people, leader ship groups, and they reach out further than just the taekwondo. They teach them how to listen and be confident in what they heard. This place is a trap. I am unhappy with them. They just won't let you go even though you don't want your kid to go there anymore. They act like they are IRS and there is no way to get rid of them even when you owe them nothing. read more

This place is FRAUD!!! Do NOT sign any contracts! Once you sign any contracts they will charge you for the rest of your life even if you decide not to go anymore for years. They'll even send it to collection. This place is horrible! read more

Our little one was signed up for the two week introductory class, and he learned so much within the first two weeks that we decided to keep him going. They teach kids to focus, to respect, to be kind, and to practice their art. We could not be happier with the staff, including Master Hector, instructor Alejandro and Instructor Jordan. I really wouldn't recommend coming here. It's very overpriced for the caliber you are getting. They get you into a contract that doesn't allow you to change studios without charging you additional amount. Good luck trying to speak to anyone about the contract or terms. I have been trying to get a hold of an answer from the owner for 6 months. He always promises to follow up and does not. Do not sign anything here. They also pass their kids to different belt levels too quickly. I believe it's because if you are on their black belt program you pay a max of 2 or 3. So if your child is close to paying the maximum and is near the point of getting unpaid classes beyond that point it benefits them to get the kids to black belt level and out of the studio as soon as possible. However, the kids don't always have the skills required for that level. They have also made charges to my card that exceeds the amount that I was told. I had to initiate a block against their company on my credit card. This is a irresponsible unprofessional business on different levels. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

We are so bless to say that we consider this place as a second home. All the Masters, all the instructors are the best people and teachers you can ask for your kids. We are been going there for almost 3 years. We have 2 boys, 7 years old and 4 years old. Our oldest just tested yesterday for black belt and our youngest is a yellow belt. The confident, the respect, discipline, meditation and work as a team are just few things to mentioned, besides "martial arts " that they work and help your kids to improve in a daily bases. I can't sing enough praises! My 5 yo daughter started the black belt program when she was 3 years old. It started off as fun and good exercise but now she recognizes the effects that TKD has had on her, such as building her confidence, increasing her physical ability and improving discipline. She is such an active kid and enjoys the challenging exercises in class as well the fun games that they play from time to time. We have seen her grow tremendously and she just adores all the instructors, especially Master Yim. She aspires to be like Grand Master Lee and always talks about how she is going to get her black belt and fly like him. Masters Lee, Im, Hector and Shane rock! Kids (and beginners of any age) will find the environment very nuturing and before long, you'll be breaking boards with ease. It's a great workout (classes are 45 minutes) and there are always awards and prizes as you improve. An added plus? The uniforms are very slimming, if you catch my drift. read more

I would put 16 stars if they would let me. After watching my fiance study here for three years. I finally made the time to attend for myself. I started with a trial package which would last only a few weeks. After only three or four classes I was hooked and I joined the Black Belt Club. The instructors and Master instructors are encouraging, kind, and patient. Like any proper military discipline they clearly outline the standard and will push/assist you to be better than you think you can. As the saying goes "one year from now you'll be glad you started today!" It's now been a one year signed I began studying at Ultimate Tae Kwon Do and my only regret is a didn't start sooner. read more

To all new parents who consider this place. Please, do not do that. you will thank me later. Read carefully their one page contract. It is a trap. They have a clause where it says that only way you get out of that contract when you move 25 miles away from their Burbank office and they cannot provide these services or someone needs to die (I am assuming they mean the parent or the kid dies? which is ridiculous to think that the only way of getting out of contract with a martial arts place is to die) and you need to provide a death certificate before they would annul your contract. After calling and telling them that you want to cancel their services as you are not want their services anymore, they are going to smile on your face then tell you that the only thing they can do is to put your account on hold for 3 months then you have to come back. Then they will restart charging you after 90 days. It just does not stop. They charged as 5k and reported as to a collection agency. We have email correspondence proving that we wanted to cancel our membership during the pandemic as we did not want our kids to do martial arts through zoom. Yet they were brave enough to keep charging us. They do not care about your kids wellbeing or good training. It all about money and they will get under your skin by keep charging you for the services you did not ask and did not get. I can prove and back up whatever I said. Don't be so greedy. So happy that my wife found THE place for TKD for our kids! I was skeptical of many TKD places that just focus on making money as their top priority and discipline and teachings come second. Heck, even when I used to go to TKD as a child, all I remember is passing students just to get paid. Not this establishment! I was able to have a sit down with the master himself and he was discussing how their top priority is teaching, discipline and etc. yes I do understand every establishment has to eat to survive. I didn't even know they were open for 21 years in the same place and location. The reputation of one establishment being open that long speaks for itself. Master Shane really stood out to me during my first few visits. He looks young but the way he leads his classes and the way he teaches is amazing. I heard from the Master of this place that Shane started here at the age of 6. He was very shy at first and now he is a master at this place. It was awesome to hear about his testimony. My kids are 3 and 5 and I plan on enrolling them until they are 18! I have the utmost confidence that this establishment will teach my kids between right and wrong, discipline, self esteem and confidence and respect. Keep up the good work guys! read more

My son started at UTKD last fall and he really loves it. Their teaching system is great and also emphasizes respect and good behavior at home and at school. Horrible experience! Ended up paying a big amount of money because my child got sick and couldn't attend the classes anymore. I had signed a contract which said the only excuse can be done if your child becomes disabled. No other medical condition is accepted even if you have a doctor's note starting that the child can not be physically active! read more

Base on first impression. The other two stars may had been included if I took a class to experience the energy myself. There are a few UTKD's in NYC, though I am not a member there I decided to take a sit in class. Walking in i knew i wasnt going to be greeted formally because most TKD Dojangs are pretty busy. But they were friendly enough to approach. I am from NYC and I am a member of a taekwondo Dojang so I wasnt looking to become a member at another Dojang. I was mainly looking for a place that I was able to just take one class per week just to keep up the training and meet new people outside of NYC even if it was just to help with a class while I am on vacation in California for three weeks. Nonetheless, the students look like they were enjoying their class. I may come around next year to join A class. read more

This Facility is the best in Southern California! I drive 77 miles every Friday and Saturday to bring him to Master Lee. I love the instructors here, they encourage discipline, respect and fun! They are continuously positive and make sure children and parents are welcomed. The instructors at ultimate taekwondo are all knowledgable and patient. Our son joined right before his third birthday and had a hard time adjusting but the instructors were all extremely patient with him. I've seen a noticeable difference in his attention and discipline. I plan to enroll our other son and would highly recommend ultimate taekwondo. read more

Our son had started martial arts (Shaolin Wushu) when we were living in China, before moving here, and we are very happy to have found Master Lee and his Ultimate Tae Kwon Do school. Training is always exciting - he is part of the Black Belt club which allows him to train three times a week - progress is very well monitored, and he has been able to grow at his own pace (which is reasonably fast) within the Tae Kwon Do academics.
