She was nervous at first, but to our surprise, she absolutely loved her initial sessions. Master Nagayama and his team of black belt instructors strike a perfect balance between being firm and constructive, making the classes both engaging and encouraging. My daughter never felt intimidated, which was a huge relief as a parent. The facility itself is spacious, with plenty of seating for parents to comfortably watch their kids. The overall ambiance is welcoming and supportive, creating a great environment for young learners. Highly recommend if you're considering martial arts for your child! We really enjoy the life lessons that this studio has brought in to my son's life. We also enjoy that this studio doesn't give belts away but makes the students truly earn them. This reinforced our family values that not everything comes easy and you shouldn't always expect a participation trophy in life. Worthy accomplishments are often earned through hard work and practice.

My family went to Elite Taekwondo Center for sixteen years. Both my brother and I started off as…read morestudents than started volunteering as leaders to help younger students learn. Master Paul prioritizes teaching students discipline, loyalty, integrity, bravery, self-control, confidence, modesty, respect, and service. Throughout class, he consistently integrates these values into his lessons in all sorts of ways. For example, when it comes to discipline, he will work with a student until they correct a mistake that they consistently make, even if it means giving feedback throughout multiple classes. Master Paul will even include respect towards peers with simple things such as having students give each other high fives, fist bumps, or shaking hands before a sparring match. He also incorporates bravery, self-control, and safety at the same time. Many students can be scared to start sparring, so Master Paul will start them off with getting used to the gear and moving around with an instructor. And when sparring against a classmate, the environment is always supervised to make sure nobody gets injured. Self-control comes into play here as students are constantly taught that they are not allowed to utilize all their body-strength, as sparring is about practicing with a moving target allowing for both offense and defense. Each match is supervised and instructors and Master Paul will intervene if necessary. Furthermore, Master Paul knows each students' strengths and weaknesses and will include that in his feedback allowing for a student to know what specifically they need to work on (whether those are techniques or values). And he will work with a students' strength, knowing exactly how to push students to meet their potential without making it overbearing or bringing a students' confidence down and instead pushing it up. With how much he consistently works with students in this way, students are able to incorporate all these values in their daily life in a way that is like second-nature. This includes working hard and honestly in school, showing respect towards others around them, and as Master Paul says being able to have the confidence to not get into a fight. Even after your student is finished with Taekwondo and has achieved whatever their goal is, these values that they have learned have become habits that they will continue to use in the real world.

I paid close attention to the instruction, technique, discipline, and how the children responded to the masters. At some studios, I was surprised to see very young children wearing black belts that didn't seem earned. My 6-year-old son has been attending ETC for nearly a year, and the difference is evident. Master Paul and Master Jue are deeply committed to teaching proper technique, discipline, and character. They hold students to high standards while still encouraging them, and it shows in the way the children carry themselves. I believe in gentle parenting, but I also believe children need structure and accountability. ETC reinforces those values. My son has great respect for Master Paul, and we've seen significant improvement in his behavior both in and out of class. If you're looking for a Taekwondo studio that focuses on real skill development, discipline, and building respectful young leaders, I highly recommend ETC.

However the idea and actually visiting a dojo was way too intimidating and my son wanted nothing to do with it. I was refereed to Shaolin Tae Kwon Do, by a family friend who had sent her son and was taught by Master Zaven 20 years ago. One day I went there to pick up a brochure, before I knew it they had invited my son to join. After much protest and fear, they had my son laughing and excited to join. They have such patience and experience with working with children with various personalities and needs such as A.D.D. After the first week of karate, my son stood up for a child who was being bulling at school, (with non violence). I was proud of my son who had the courage and the confidence to stand up for another child. Before Karate my son, was shy and easy going to a fault. The kids who attend are great too. My son was thrilled when a couple of his karate classmates saw him on school campus and said hi to him. The other fellow karate moms are also very friendly. I'm glad we have that friendly unity. It's nice to know they have a sense of community outside the dojo. My son now has matured to a confident outspoken child. We have more to work on with his new found confidence ;P However I'm thrilled to see my son grow into the young man he will become one day. My son is still young and I'm looking forward for him to have Master Zaven and his sons, teaching him tae kwon do but most important how to be a strong responsible young man who believes in himself. Master Zaven is a very caring dedicated master teacher with more patience then I have ever seen. And I'm a Early Child Care Educator :) If your not sure if tae kwon do is for your child, just do what I did. Just drive them there push him through the door and let Master Zevan and the other Masters do what they do best. I assure you, you won't regret it and you will be pleasantly surprise in the changes in your child.

The studio is spacious and thoughtfully designed to create an engaging and inspiring training environment. What truly sets MTC apart, however, is its phenomenal instructors. Their expertise, dedication, and approach to teaching are remarkable. They strike the perfect balance between discipline and encouragement, instilling not only exceptional taekwondo skills but also invaluable lessons in respect, perseverance, and self-confidence. They are firm yet loving, and their passion for their craft shines through in every class. Since our son began his journey at MTC, we have witnessed tremendous growth in his skills, concentration, discipline, and confidence. Watching him work hard, challenge himself, and proudly test for his next belt has been such a beautiful and rewarding experience. We couldn't be prouder! We are incredibly grateful to have found a place that nurtures our son's development while making him feel so supported and encouraged. We hope our son continues his journey here for many years to come. A very special thank-you to Masters Yun, Andy, and Marc, who teach our son's class. Their dedication, patience, and genuine care for their students are extraordinary. They are truly one of a kind! We cannot recommend Master's Taekwondo Club highly enough!

Master Winkle, Master Kati and the entire team are incredibly dedicated, focusing not just on physical techniques but also on character development, like discipline and confidence. They offer a huge range of classes for all ages, including my 13 yr old who is loving the core martial arts program. It is truly a supportive community, not just a martial arts studio. If you're looking for practical self-defense and a place to truly grow, this is it! We've been with them for almost 7 years now. My 13 year old daughter is testing for her Black Belt, which is an extraordinary accomplishment for her especially given that after only a four months at Inspire she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune disease that requires near constant monitoring. The team at Inspire is incredibly open to making accommodations for her, educating themselves about T1D, and always encouraging her to prioritize her health and to trust her body. My daughter has learned how to advocate for herself, communicate her needs, and most importantly she feels incredibly SAFE with her instructors and fellow students. We have watched her push through struggles with perfectionism and anxiety, embrace leadership roles, and gain confidence. The lessons my daughter has learned have carried through into all others of her life. I highly recommend Inspire, especially if you have a child that needs a bit more attention.
