I asked to purchase a replacement clamp for my $80.00 Ultimate Support JS series Music Stand. Here's the response I got: "In regard to the JamStand product line, unfortunately, we do not manufacture separately replaceable parts. (Whereas we do with the Ultimate Support product line) Our apologies we are not able to help with replacement parts for the Jamtands product line." Screw Ultimate Support. Ultimate is a national (international?) company that makes stands for musicians and music. The fact that you can call them and get support is a rare bird in America. I explained my needs to several of their local retail outlets and they said they would "get back to me". They never did. But a simple call to Ultimate got me a call back within an hour or a direct connect with a knowledgeable person who knew what I wanted, had the product dimensions, and was able to take an order, and ship then and there. BEWARE: Writing this out of principal! This company doesn't stand behind its products! They offer a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" they don't honor. Bought a GS-1000 Stand almost 3 years ago from them at Guitar Center and it sat in the box in my garage until a few weeks ago when I went to use it for the first time. The yoke would not open and close properly so went back to Guitar Center with the receipt and was told I needed contact the manufacturer. Sent a email with pics, video and receipt and they told me it was not a defect! What??? Seriously cannot believe they are making me pay $10 plus shipping for a part that should have functioned out of the box. Paid $29 for the Stand and the part with shipping will now make the Stand cost 50% more then I paid for it. Cheap crap made in China! There are better products and companies out there to give your hard earned money to. read more

Ultimate Supports used to make really high quality product and they stood behind it. I used their stands for many years all through the 80's and 90's. That was THEN and this is NOW -- and the company has changed. I ordered several Ultimate Support stands for my studio and gladly paid the higher price believing I was getting the Ultimate Support quality I knew from the past. But to my dismay the product I received was cheap Chinese junk that wasn't made well and was not strong enough to support the equipment it was sold to support. I contacted Ultimate Supports via phone and email (this went on for weeks) and sent pictures and videos showing the problem with the product. My experience with support felt like they don't even know their own product. (very surprising to me - I visited their factory in the 80's and they made the product in house and knew everything there was to know - apparently now they just sell stuff made overseas that they aren't even familiar with) After weeks of back and forth, the best they would offer was to SELL me another one at a discounted price and I pay the shipping. Buyer beware! The most important parts of my Ultimate Support Speaker Stands were made of plastic and crack under normal stress. I first contacted the Ultimate Support's Support Department after cracking appeared on the non-metal parts securing the legs rated at 100lbs of speaker weight. I've been in the music business for over 40 years and have never seen this problem before. Merry, in their support department, was nice enough on the phone and asked me to send detailed photos of the the issue. The photos were reviewed and I was asked to mail back my Ultimate Support stands for replacement under warranty. After two weeks and not hearing from them I called Merry to find out the status of the replacements. She informed me the stands were cracked due to "over tightening". Please remember the stands are rated at holding a minimum of 100lbs. Since the tripod section of their stand is non-serviceable, and the stands are not warrantied for "over tightening", she said I could get replacements for $25. After receiving replacement stands I discovered a $69.95 charge on my Visa bill. When I contacted Support they informed me the charge was correct - $25 for each replacement stand, plus shipping costs, equal $69.95 Here is the bottom line. After inspection of my photos, and paying $20 to mail in the defective stands for replacement, they sold me USED stands that had been returned to their company for the total of $20 + $69.95 = $89.95 Lesson learned: Ultimate Speaker speaker stands with a limited lifetime warranty, and non-serviceable plastic fittings to secure the support legs, can be replaced with a USED pair of speaker stands for a premium price. If I would have had this information in advance I would have not wasted my time, donated my old stands to Goodwill, then bought NEW STANDS FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more
