I don't usually leave bad reviews, especially for an individual, but I'm honestly pretty disgusted…read moreby this experience. I paid $260 (which would have been $300 had I tipped) and walked out with a result that looks like it was done at a budget chain, a beauty school, or a friend attempted to do it at home, NOT an expensive professional salon.
What I asked Augustina for was not complicated, just some lowlights with blonde weaved in, I even had a picture of what I wanted. It was clearly outside this stylist's skillset. If she couldn't do it, or thought it unsuitable for my hair, I wish she'd just said so upfront. Instead, I wasted four hours of my already limited time and $260! Her first attempt when she finally gave me the mirror to look at the back, was like someone threw red paint on my head in a blob and the rest was the same color as when I walked in, it was truly shocking! It HAD to be re-done even though I had appointments that afternoon that I was forced to cancel. What resulted was MUCH better than the original, which was outrageously bad, but I still ended up with a color job that looks completely wrong--patchy, uneven, and frankly, embarrassing to walk around with. Quite honestly, she saw the way it looked, and I was SHOCKED she had the audacity to charge me that much for what was clearly a terrible job!
I was just going to chalk it up to a bad experience and never go back to Salty Waves or Augustina again, but my friends when they saw what my hair looked like felt strongly that I should review it as it is not fair to others who may go to her. Now I not only have to pay someone else to fix it but waste more of my precious time. When I was leaving, in fairness Augustina did say I could go back, and she would re-do it, but quite honestly, I have lost all faith. I will just have to pay someone else to fix what she did if it is even fixable. Total waste of my time and money, and I'm left walking around with hair that I hate. I have attached some pictures, but they don't really show how bad it was. In reflection I should not have paid......and she should not have charged me. I was just too upset and wanted to leave. I see upon looking at the reviews I am not the first person to have had this experience. Disappointed, does not even begin to cover it.
