I have been to numerous trainers who have done not one third of what Heather has done for my health. What took years to accomplish she has accomplished and just a short time. I continue to do and not just try. Heathers training is that of positive energy and helps you meet your goals, without overdoing it or being in pain ( except for some pain from muscles waking up, but not overpowering where you're down for a week) she's very compassionate towards all her clients and her goal is to make sure we succeeded. The past four years of having many personal trainers, Heather is the only one, who goes above and beyond to make sure our fitness is just not good but optimal. I can't stress enough, how thankful I am that Heather was placed in my path of life. It's something I don't take lightly and thank God every day for Optimum Personal Training. Again, I highly recommend Heather for all your fitness needs! Optimum personal training is the best training you will ever find in Mystic,Connecticut!

I was a true fitness beginner and a little intimidated by gyms and trainers, etc., but the folks at Advantage were patient, understanding and supportive right from the beginning. The Mystic facility is easy to get to, has ample parking, and is just the right size. The shake bar is fantastic! The gym and locker room are super clean, and they have been on top of all covid protocols and provided excellent communication.

She is a career dancer, so it's not like other places where a fitness instructor just takes a few certification classes. Because of her experience, she is great at explaining how to move and hold your body and how to correct your form. With a maximum class size of 5 - 6, you will have as close to personal training as you can get. The space itself is also top notch. The whole gym has a luxe feel and the studio is small but airy and bright. Between the nice facilities and unique classes, they offer a lot that you won't find anywhere else.

To be…read morehonest, I'm not sure it's something they actively seek clients for, but since I live a block away and work from home it worked out well. I can tell this gym is focused on personal training and from the reviews looks like 5 stars there as well. But back to the part-time membership - worth every penny. Because they are a personal training gym, we usually always had the place to ourselves which I ended up really, really liking. When I was in fantastic shape, going to the regular gym was nothing, but when you've got some extra pounds to shed, having a nearly private space was amazing. I was concerned that because it was a personal training gym a trainer would eventually come up and try to sell me on some sessions, but that didn't happen. Unlike larger gyms I've been to! Also because they are personal training, you have just about every piece of free-weight/aerobic equipment that you could want, along with several machines - again at your disposal, no worrying about waiting for them. They also offer classes that look fun. Finally you CANNOT, I repeat cannot beat the atmosphere here. It is really cool inside, extremely clean, set-up well (2 floors), modern and the staff/owners are so friendly and pretty much mind their clients and not your presence. In conclusion, the weekday membership is not for everyone, but if you can swing it, it's worth it!

I have been a member of Fitness Together in East Greenwich since the fall of 2008, about a year and…read morea half ago. I went there at a time that my health was deteriorating and my conditioning at an all-time low. One of my sons had said to me, "Mom, don't you even want to get well?" I joined FT and I was dragging. I complained constantly about everything. Yet each trainer I worked with just kept urging me on and my conditioning improved. About a year later, it was determined that my problems were being caused by a benign cyst on my frontal lobe. I had surgery (8.5 hours' worth) on November 24, 2009. I was in the neurosurgical ICU for ten days. During that stay, whenever the Physical Therapist came to work with me, I couldn't wait to get up and walk. If she said to do one stair repetition, I said, "Can I do two?" or three or four. Guess where this determination and drive came from? Fitness Together. My stay in the ICU was four days shorter than the average one. My neurosurgeon, Dr. Petra Klinge, said I could return to exercise 6-8 weeks after surgery. You know I was back at FT six weeks to the day. Early this June, I summited N.H.'s Mt. Avalon, an elevation gain of 1450' in the pouring rain, only 25 minutes slower than AMC's suggested time. Not bad for just over 6 months after brain surgery. This is the kind of conditioning and motivation I received from FT. The staff are friendly and professional. The owner, Robin Ball, is even spending extra time consulting with my chiropractor and physical therapist to supplement my particular needs. You know what else? They even let me bring in my own CD's. Some mornings in the heart of East Greenwich, clients are working out to Motown sounds from the 60's and I love it. Karen Paley ksurman1@cox.net
