Since Steve works out of his home, I was a little leery about dropping off my laptop but he was recommended by a member of a group I belong to. I couldn't be happier with his services. My laptop had crashed, and I thought I had lost all my files. Steve called, told me what he found and what it would cost. He was able to retrieve everything I needed and installed a new hard drive. I first worked with Steve at least 10 years ago. He worked on my old desktop and aio. I recommended him to many friends and relatives as well and we have all been very pleased with his knowledge and quick service. I moved to SC almost 5 yrs ago, but when in NJ I reached out to him about my grandson's computer which was unfortunately fried. I was able to purchase a rebuilt computer from him for my grandson and also one for myself which he shipped to me! Very reasonable! Steve worked with me remotely to get everything up and running. I've used Steve at Ultimate Computer several times over the past 5 years. His business is run out of his home so I was a little leery at first but this guy is great! Recently I've had him install and transfer data from a PC who's hard drive had crashed. I was afraid all was lost but he installed a new SSD solid state drive and transferred all my data! I was so satisfied with its performance I had him do the same to my older PC. The cost for each was under $200 for the drive and his time. He's even offered to visit my home when I had a printer issue. I also agree with others who say he is honest. I've had him recommend another shop when trying to have work done on my iPhone. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I'm so pleased, I can't contain myself. Two days ago, I got fed up with my laptop taking 10-15 minutes to become usable, and searched for a nearby service to try to fix it. I figured the service would cost as much as a new laptop, but figured I'd give it a try. I'd struggled with slow startup and speed for several years, and had downloaded several pieces of software to troubleshoot and fix problems, to little avail. Thru Facebook, I found and im'ed Steve with a description of my problem, and within minutes, he responded that my hard drive was the cause (despite the many tests I ran myself that said it was fine). He suggested replacing it with a solid state drive, and quoted me a more than fair price to do just that. To top that off, he said that he didn't have the SSD in stock but could have it the next morning. After a little back and forth, I decided to bite the bullet, suspend my usual degree of caution, and go for it. I dropped the laptop off yesterday (Saturday) morning at 11:00, and by about 3:00, he texted me that it was ready. When I picked it up, Steve showed me how it now starts up in seconds, and opens programs and files faster than I thought possible. He also showed me what he did to tune it up (at no charge, and with my prior approval). He also gave me some free advice on a number of other things. I've become so used to having to wait for my computer to be usable that I don't know what I'm going to do with my extra time! I'm also looking forward to finally being able to start my computer without forgetting what I needed it for in the first place! Thanks Steve! The best service and help we have every received to fix our Apple computer. Hard drive crashed , installed new solid state drive , transferred tons of data and 15 thousand pictures from old Mac to another old Mac we had with newly installed solid state drive .
