He not a drill sergeant, but rather a great teacher. He treats his pupils respectfully, and his students all listen to and respect him in turn. He knows every student by name--even the ones who are sitting in on their first class--and in each class he manages to devote individual attention to all of them. I have no doubt that Instructor Q would be a gifted teacher in any subject area he chose. My boys tried a different Tae Kwon Do center and couldn't make it past the trial period. They didn't enjoy the martial arts instruction or the fitness routines. Here, they are dedicated to their lessons and committed to their practice, and they are already working towards their second belt test. Each day, the come home with a new stripe or star on their uniforms and some new or improved moves to show me. They also practice their forms without any prompting. We had initially signed them up for twice a week. When we asked them if they wanted to go three times a week, they both said absolutely without hesitation. Instructor Q is committed to imparting not just martial arts instruction but also the founding principles of Tae Kwon Do--courtesy, integrity, perseverance, etc. It truly is a way life. Instructor Q has become such a positive role model in our boys' lives. We are so grateful to him and the Clinton Hill Marital Art & Fitness center.

The hard work paid off and I was pretty much aerodynamic and had more skills in my martial arts skills. Even to this day when I kickbox, the muscle memory remembers and I am able to pull off martial arts move easily again (although not as aerodynamic since it's been three decades). It's worth it because a lot of the training is still embedded into my muscle memory after three decades!
