Very well made and affordable burgers and vegan mushroom burgers! I would come here again if I could! Also if you haven't tried Coconut water then you should, it will leave you with shocking aftertaste... I miss it so much already!!! Service 5/5: friendly staff and fun Halloween headbands! Ambiance 5/5 I highly recommend!!!

Hawaiian grown pineapple on our burgers

We really enjoyed our burgers and the fries are excellent and worth getting. We got fresh pineapple on our burgers. Everything was fresh and really good. Messy of course. We didn't wait more than 25 minutes for food and the lady at the register was friendly.

Update 5 1/2 years later: it's still the best burger and fries in Kona! The location is also perfect because there's public restrooms, shopping and dessert options nearby If you order to go they always cook the fries fresh when you arrive 10/10 :)

One of the BEST fish burgers ive had in my life. Burger was grilled with toasted buns. Fish was served medium rare with Chipotle mayo. Right amount of onions and tomato as well. Wish I got 2 it was that good. If you get one make sure to get fries or a salad on the side. Might need it if its your first meal of the day or you are having a late lunch.

We stumbled upon Ulimate Burger when doing a Target run, and it was the one of the best places we ate in Kona! I had the Ultimate Cheeseburger with a side of french fries, and I was SO surprised with how delicious it was! The meat tasted amazing, and all the toppings were fresh. I noticed that they advertised their use of grass-fed Big Island beef and organic produce from Big Island farms, which reflected in the quality of their food. I would definitely eat here again! Vibe: The restaurant had tons of indoor seating. Service was quick and the workers were all friendly and helpful. Parking: The shopping center has free parking lot with lots of stalls available.

The kind of burger I'm going to be dreaming about for days! It was so amazing. Got the local A'A Lava Burger and the fries are to die for as well. I cannot give this place enough credit. Absolutely amazing! You will not regret this decision. Service and atmosphere were a great and local vibe.

Ultimate Cheeseburger with cheddar. Mouth watering!

Never had a bad meal yet. Great service every time which is rare every where else these days. Burger is juicy and oh sooooo good! Hits the spot.

We visited on a Friday for a late dinner and it was packed! Although it took a while to order and receive our food, it was well worth the wait. I appreciate that most of the ingredients are locally sourced, supporting local farmers. This was surprisingly one of the top meals I had on my visit to the island. The price is unbeatable for what you get and the burgers were delicious. Also the fries were a 10/10 and the house-made garlic aioli dipping sauce was bomb! I noticed the staff were all hardworking and young and I knew they'd throw down in the kitchen and they definitely did. Highly recommend you try this place out, and if you're on a crunch for time-you can order ahead online!

    Best Hawaii Burger!!

Very very very good Grass Fed Burger with Fresh cut fries. Price was great, but so was the burger! If you're in Kona step away from the strip and come by this strip mall area and get a great burger! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and free to park!! Says Hawaii Best Burger for last several years, and it did not disappoint

    Mason jar chandelier how neat

The food was great we haven't had much luck while on the island but this a really good place to eat. We had the ultimate burgers med rare with different toppings and the fries are worth every penny the aioli dip was so good. Definitely a place you won't be disappointed!!!

We stopped by tonight after arriving into the airport late. The burger was almost inedible, the fries were over fried. Would not recommend.

First off, their macadamia ice cream is really really good! Creamy, thick, sooo tasty! We also ordered: Epic Feisty Tacos - 5/5 - comes with three tacos and spicy sauce. The tacos are super tasty and perfectly balanced spicy, savory, tangy flavors. The lemon herb chik'n is also so good, you can't even tell it's vegan. The tortillas are a bit on the crumbly side, but still equally tasty as a taco bowl. Definitely would recommend this dish if you love spicy tacos! Epic journey nachos - 4/5 - the toppings on the nachos taste similar to the feisty tacos. The chips are more like baked tortillas with a crispy exterior and softer center. Journey Classic Crepe and Blueberry macnut crepe - 3/5 - The crepe itself was a bit thick, I'd describe it as more of a pancake than a crepe as crepes should be super thin. Still pretty good though all together, fruity and sweet. Latte with oat milk - 4/5 - a bit on the bitter side but not a bad latte! Asian salad - 4/5 - good salad, vegan meat is well seasoned and everything pairs well together. It wasn't very Asian tasting though, more like a Mexican-Asian fusion salad.

I particularly enjoyed their strawberry shake, which was so refreshing. I noticed that they also have a coffee one, which means I'll need to stop in again next time I'm in Kona. in spite of walking in during a busier time of day, service was quick both while putting in the order and waiting for our food to come out of the kitchen. The decor is a visually fun and engaging mix of greenery and art designed to keep diners feeling cooler in Kona's heat. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Even if you're not committed to vegetarian or vegan food, there's a lot to like, especially if you're looking for something light, clean, and sweet.

Upon entering the restaurant, we enjoyed hearing upbeat music and hubby and I were warmly greeted by an employee named Josh. Hubby informed the employee about his but allergy and the employee said the restaurant was but free except the peanut sauce in one of the menu items. After reviewing the menu, I decided to try their Asian teriyaki chicken rice bowl with nozzarella sticks and hubby ordered their pulled pork fries. In addition to our food, I ordered a Hawaiian sunset to drink which is their version of an Arnold Palmer and hubby ordered a lemonade. As we waited for our food to be ready, we noticed an area with non-food items for sale including glass cup, a shirt, a graphic similar to the on in the restaurant sitting area, and silverware. The nozzarella sticks were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside and served with a side of marinara sauce. My Asian teriyaki chicken rice bowl was full and filling and I was shocked when I saw it not only contained full baby carrots. The pulled pork fries had the perfect balance of tenderness through the well seasoned pulled pork served on top of crunchy French fries. Since we at inside the restaurant, we appreciated Josh regularly checking in to ask how we were enjoying our meal as well as providing suggestions for other places in the area with vegan or plant based food options. We enjoyed the food, conversation and good vibes with Josh so much that we returned the next day. During our second visit, I ordered a chicken gyro and a crème brûlée which hubby ordered the BRB burger with fries, a side on onion rings, and a slice of avocado toast. Considering we were crunched for time, we took our food to go and similar to our first visit, the food was phenomenal. The chicken gyro was flavorful with several sauces and the onion rings were perfectly crunchy on the outside and the sauces Josh provided were creamy. Hubby's mind was blown away by the presentation of the avo toastie (he said this avocado toast was the best her ever had) and despite not being a big eater of sweets, he thoroughly enjoyed the crème brûlée which was soft and sweet. Given Josh's positive energy as well as creative and delicious food, if you are vegan, vegetarian, or veg-curious, I suggest you walk, not run to Earth Aloha Eats.

We found Cafe Ono online, but realized it was closing soon. We decided to stop by anyway to check out Volcano Garden Arts, if anything, and we are so glad we did. The staff working at the cafe were so kind and still hooked us up with some caffeine, even though they were technically already closed - we really appreciated that. We got our coffee (good but nothing extraordinary tbh) and a snack, chatted a bit with the owner, and then decided to explore the grounds instead of sitting indoors the entire time. It was so fun to wander through the little shop (with their "please touch" policy) and gallery, check out the outdoor dining areas, meet one of the famous NZ bunnies (I think there were supposed to be 2 though..?), and walk through their forest and gardens. Even on a slightly rainy and damp day, the outdoor walk was enjoyable. The space is whimsically decorated with art, sculptures, and local products for sale, and at times it gave off an Alice in Wonderland vibe. We're not sure when we'll be back in this area or on Big Island in general, but if/when we are I'd love to return and explore again.
