I decided to visit the shop since I had some questions about the bike. I ordered the bike on Tuesday, it was ready on Friday and I picked it up on Saturday. I especially liked their website where they list all of the bikes available by manufacturer and type (i.e. mountain, road, hybrid, etc.) I was able to pick out the bike I wanted and the price I paid was the MSRP on the website - no markup; and the price included assembly. I also get a free tuneup within 3 months of the purchase. Also, my receipt says that new bikes come with a lifetime adjustment package, which includes adjustments on gears, brakes, wheel alignment, etc. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend the shop to anyone looking to buy a new bicycle or have their old one tuned.

I literally thought this place was a vintage shop based on the branding I could see and the TIKI STATUE in the main window display. The location itself was neat and clean, and totally packed. I was impressed with all of the inventory they had. That said, I didn't know what some of it was and I couldn't tell what a lot of it cost. Clarity of labeling is important to keep things from feeling like clutter and to allow customers to help themselves. Also, I just didn't really feel the love which tells me that at this location customers do have to help themselves. I came by to see what the place was all about and what kind of services were offered but didn't really find that out. Did speak with someone who appeared to be working and it looked like there was a huge shop area in the back but I didn't really get a sense for what was going on, what was available, who would be helping me/my new baby girl (haven't named her, yet), etc. I'll definitely check them out again if/when I've got something specific going on, but this visit felt pretty average. If you're going to help me with my wheels, I want to feel like you love her, too. Even if she's been around the block a time or two!

The storefront makes the place smaller than it looks. Kind of like one of those clown cars that have a million clowns that come out of it... you walk in and there's a ton of bike paraphernalia everywhere, but it looks like they have a larger "back room". They service anything and everything that is on two tires. It's located off of Park Ave... and the road can get pretty busy during rush hour. Mostly on street parking here... there is a small side lot you can park in to come visit. I do like how they took one of their on-street parking spots and put a bike rack on there for fellow cyclists that ride to the store.

They were patient with my questions and concerns, and they gave me a reasonable quote as well as an explanation of what I could expect. They were able to accommodate my schedule on a Sunday afternoon ( I got lucky on such short notice: if they're busy, they're busy! No big deal) with little hassle. After Andrew was done with my bike, he explained everything that he had done, which included advice for when I should get wheels change, maintenance, all that stuff. I had no idea! My bike rides super smoothly now! I cannot stress enough how Andrew genuinely seems to enjoy his work and that he's great with sharing his wealth of knowledge! The Charlotte Recyclery is really not a safe environment for small children being left alone…read morewithout their guardians present. Bicycles are donated by total stranger's and sometimes we don't know the hidden illegal substances that are left behind. Bicycles they sell staff doesn't check them thoroughly. Hidden drugs are a concern in my mind because I was doing a tear down on my bicycle and I found white powder illegal drugs inside of the handlebars when I was changing my my handlebar grips. The restroom is usually dirty. The sink they constantly wash bicycle grease down it. Customers never know what kind of chemicals are left on the bicycles that are donated those chemicals can be dangerous to touch. Bicycles here can usually be stolen we never know where the bicycles come from. People's personal information such as their names are on a sign up sheet up front for anyone to access. They really don't use a filing cabinet for your names and addresses. The employees are shady around young children and I just don't care to be a part of the environment any longer.

However, they're interest begin to wain when I decided that none of the in stock bikes they had where exactly what I was looking for and I wanted them to order another bike for me. I paid in full for the bike, they ordered it shipped to the store and assembled it for a reasonable price. They called to let me know the bike was ready for pick up. When I got to the store the manager was still making adjustments to the bike while constantly being distracted by taking calls and answering questions by other customers & workers. He finally said my bike was ready for me to test ride. I rode the bike about block away from the store and the pedal came off. I walked the bike back to the store. The pedal was reattached and tightened. On the second attempt, the gears wouldn't shift. As it turned out, the cable was not attached. I told them I would come back another day when the bike was completely assembled and ready to ride. Pretty frustrating experience but overall very pleased with my new Velotric e-bike.

I purchased a new TREK Marlin 5, a new helmet, along with accessories for basic maintenance. There was no pressure through this process. It's been about 2 years since I took my Jameson in for service…read more I wrote their first review. I had such a bad experience this time and I won't be returning. I took my bike in and talked to a lady named Audrey. She wasn't very personable from the beginning. She told me a tune up was $105.00, I had to ask her to repeat that number. Then she told me it would be a week before someone called me to tell me what needed to be done to the bike. I didn't ask but this place has changed hands from the two guys who were the original owners when they were in downtown Rock Hill. Riverwalk is more of an upscale location and they can probably run the business this way. They are overcharging and underserving. What a business model? I was told to take my bike to Dicks Bike Repair in Pineville so I did. Full service tune up for $75.00 and back in two days.
