The girls who checked me out were extremely rude. No customer service at all. I overheard them talking to the lady in front of me and they didn't acknowledge her at all, wouldn't even look at her. When i went up to the counter she scanned all my things and i asked if I could get my birthday gift since it's my birthday today and she was immediately mad and snapped back at me. I am SO happy with my cut from Kassie. Seriously this is one of the best cuts I've ever had. It's my first time I've ever gotten this style bangs and I'm so in love! It's also my first visit with Kassie and when you find a good stylist...you don't let that gem go. So yeah I'll be back! I went to this Ulta because it's the closest and it's still 30 mins from my home. I wanted to look at straighteners and test the clamping abilities. I found a Chi only by Ulta that I loved. It was $99. I arrive home ready to test it out and I notice one side of the tape on the box is ripped. (It's taped on both sides securing it shut) I pull out a greasy used straightener with brown burnt product on the side plate and jet black hair stuck in it. I was tempted to just wash it but then I noticed the straightener was also bent and the free products included in the box were also missing. I'm disappointed I'll have to drive 30 mins back here to hopefully exchange this. read more

Furthermore, they have cute hair accessories, nice shampoo (and usually good deals on it), lotions, body sprays, fine perfume and cologne, and a million kinds of nail polish.They have curling irons, flat irons, and hair dryers that you can try out before buying. If I could give this place a 0 I would. They're customer service is trash. I went to the Ulta store in Yakima to get my hair done by Marina on 2/20. I asked for a balayage and what I received was not that. My hair is not blended, there's hard lines, my money piece is super thick, I have no dimension, and to top it all off pieces of my hair are orange. I tried to call and and spoke to Kristen on 2/24 who stated she needed to speak to Marina before she could do anything for me. I received a call from Marina on 2/25 stating she understood she needed to fix my "highlights" and to call to schedule. I then called Kristen again because although I did want my hair fixed I didn't not feel comfortable going with Marina again, I felt like she was careless and I wanted someone to actually fix my hair. I asked for Rochelle and they said Marina was the master stylist and no one would do my hair like her and she knew how to do hair best. When I stated my concerns with Marina Kristen said Marina said my hair wasn't lifting like it should have, which is the first time I heard that because Marina never mentioned anything to me in store. Kristen was really pushy and I finally asked for my money back since it felt like not even she had faith in Rochelle fixing it which she replied no. I was scheduled with Rochelle but it's still wasn't sitting right with me so I called guest services and they said they had to sent and email to the store because that couldn't be dealt with outside of the store. They sent an email and said someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours but I never heard back. Today 3/1 I called the Ulta and spoke to Maria the store manager who also pushed Marina on me stating she was "in the industry for 15 years and had been the manager at Regis". Again after stating my concerns she told me she was told "it would take more than one appointment to get my hair where I wanted it" which was also the first time I heard that. I let Maria know every time I call I hear something different about why my hair is not the way I wanted it. I also stated my concerns that Marina lack of communication when I was in store especially after having 15 years of experience and all she said was she would let her know so she can further her career. Now the store manager called me contradicting herself on what balayage is and isn't, making excuses as to why her employee fucked up my hair and they refuse to give me my money back! Girls that work here are pretty inexperienced and do not know what their talking about. Nobody is willing to help and a lot of them are extremely rude! They don't even look clean 90% of the time. However there are a few girls that are somewhat friendly. Other than that, their rude and quite dumb when it comes to makeup. Ive given up on this location. Shelves are a mess, things are often out of stock and staff always seem pre-occupied doing anything other than helping customers. On one visit I asked an employee for help finding a bronzer, she replied by telling me what brand she liked and then continued chatting with her co-worker. Cool! So helpful! During the holidays one of the gals was offering lotion samples to customers - someone asked her where a specific product was located, her response was along the lines of "I don't know, I work in the salon." To avoid the chaos I decided to place an online order and pick up in the store. I went to the order pickup desk and watched as everyone else in the regular line was helped before me (while another employee was nearby stocking shelves). The whole point of me placing an online order was to NOT have to wait around in the store for 15 minutes. I think this store is in dire need of new management. read more

Terrible store with absolutely terrible employees! They are uneducated and rude, they act like they are makeup goddesses but cannot tell the difference between a highlighter and a bronzer (yes this actually happened with an employee I met). They are literally so clueless when they come to makeup that can't even pronounce half the brand names correctly! I am extremely into makeup and have a passion for it, so I get irritated when a girl working AT A MAKEUP STORE cannot have a decent conversation about a makeup product with me because she doesn't know anything about the product. I spend a tremendous amount of money on makeup and do not like being ignored when I enter the store. In fact, I went in there today, spent $175 and was not asked once if I needed any help - they were all standing talking and twirling their hair. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Ulta's $50 for cut'n color is a great deal, especially if Courtney is your stylist. She listened to and discussed my preferences, then followed through with my requests. (that's not always the case with other stylists) Her skill at coloring hair is top notch, from selecting an appropriate shade to completing the entire procedure. This was by far the best salon experience I've ever had. I went in to Ulta looking for some hair care products because my fine, curly, frizzy hair is so damaged from always tangling and having to rip the tangles out. I asked Rachel (she worked in the salon) if she could recommend a good hair mask to me, and she actually took a look at my hair and showed me some good products, and basically told me, very politely, what the problem with my hair was and what it needed, and I know she was genuine because she wasn't merely trying to sell me the most expensive products, she even suggested a cheap at home way to clarify my hair. She then offered to cut my hair for me but I was nervous about spending the money, but she said she'd clarify it as well so I agreed. After she did that, conditioned it and gave me some long layers, my hair looked absolutely amazing. It hasn't been this soft, bouncy and curly in years. She knows what she's doing and she's very helpful and answers all your questions. I was unsure about the haircut price as I am sort of tight on money right now but it was 100% worth it, and I am in love with my hair again! I'll definitely be going back. read more

I'm so disappointed with this store's manager and the corporation itself. Do not order anything online and have it delivered to a business. Their free shipping is through the post office and they do not deliver packages to businesses, as I like to get my orders at work. Each time it was sent to Yakima it was immediately sent back to deliverer. After almost a month of not getting my product they finally gave me a gift card. At this point the online promotion was over (2 for one) and they would not honor my original price that I paid. Not a very good way to treat a long time customer. After a lengthy conversation with customer service they finally agreed to credit my card and void the lame gift certificate. This is what they said to me: " I do apologize we do not have a way to honor the prior promotion and it was an online only promotion."
